Current advice is not to freak and just let it ride out.

I not to worried about it. There was only $6000. to begin with. We lose it, we lose it. Im not fussed about it.

My husband, however... is thinking about busting a rifle so he can go hunt squirrels in case we need food.

Watched news today, local business man that owns Petter Warehouse (discount store) had fraud charges agianst him.. He also owns Sun Country Airlines, one of the reprecussions of that mess.. and the cruddy economy..

They just announced today that they are cutting the staff pay by 50%!!

Holy cow! I wonder how many people will quit because they can't afford the cut??

They are the other MN based airline out of MSP, comparable to Southwest or the other discount small airlines.
They are cutting pay until they receive money from credit companies on flights prurchased for the upcoming hioliday season.

One of the execs said on camera that he gave up his salary for the next two months.

yeah the WAMU thing shocked hubby and I - I know it was popular on various deal boards as they gave good freebies if you opened up an account. They had a branch in Moreno Valley, tons of people there on Fridays (payday).

I wonder if it's better to have an account in a large bank or a smaller local-- KWIM? Then again, why should I worry- not like I have much in there right now

It was very expected around here, I was surprised at how fast it happened... But I guess thats how those things work.

My sisters husband asked if he should pull their money out, seeing as how that is their bank.. WHY??? It IS insured up to $100,000! Its not like they want your little $500.. You know?

If we do head out to California it will be in late March, that's when my DNTheMarine is expected back from deployment. He has over 50 days of leave racked up, thought it would be nice to greet him as he arrives and then fly back to MN together.

But this all depends on tax rebate and debt and jobs and gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I have no plans for a vacation, but hubby might decide otherwise for me.. like he usually does. He gets tired of me being under foot and grumpy-- and badgers me until I buy a ticket to go.

for some people its not that it is a small amount, its that it can take some time to get that refund..and how do they pay pills and or eat while waiting...
