Ladies, I need to go get dinner made, the hungry natives are giving me "The Look". I'll pop back on later. Hugs to you both.

Each day is a gift, just some days the gift is like that special Xmas gift from Grandma. You know the ones...a giant purple turtleneck sweater with a big giant christmas tree on the front and shiny sequins on front, arms too big and chest too tight.:rotfl2:
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Good one!

Hello, kids! Anybody around this evening?

We just finished up dinner, and the kids are watching a Scooby Doo cartoon (weird! The gang as kids, WTH???) we rented from Black Bustard, so thought I'd DIS. :).

I went out for the monthly GNO with my best friends last night. Two of them work at the place I used to work at, and they are very unhappy. Our typical GNO involves some talk about work and husbands, but mostly about our kids: struggles, successes, funnies. But this time it was mostly about work. I sure hope everything works out for the best for everyone. :(

On a positive note, we had margaritas, yummy food, and some laughs. :grouphug:

The kids had swim class this morning. It was awesome! DS4, who loves being in the water, but prefers being propelled by someone else  and has been very reluctant to get his face wet, suddenly plunged his face into the water and held it awhile! I watched him awhile as he waited for his turn around the pool with the instructor. And as he sat on the sidelines, he just kept sticking his face in the water, then popping up with a big grin, and dramatically wiping his eyes four or five times. I think he had his eyes open underwater! Totally shocking and sooooo cool!

In DS8's class, they put fins on today. DS was the last kid in line with the fins, and he listened to his instructor tell him what to do, then started out. My jaw dropped as he WHOOSHED across the pool, stopping once halfway for a breath, then WHOOSHED to the other end. He looked thrilled by how fast he got there, and I was laughing at his expression. :lmao:

Hello Hyenas,

My bf and I went to the mall for a bit, went to the motorcycle shop, stopped at his mom's restaraunt and chatted a bit, watched Eagle Eye (which rocked by the way), went to a sushi place and it was packed, so now we are at a quiet Thai restaraunt (never been here before). I hope u all had an awesome day :grouphug:

Hiya, pix! Sounds like a fun day. ;)

I napped with DS4 this afternoon, which I typically don't do. I was pretty tired from having been out late with the girls last night (didn't get to bed until 2 AM, then had trouble falling asleep and woke several times in the night), so we slept until 4.

DH spent the afternoon mowing the lawn and disabling the automatic antenna on the 4Runner, since it just went kaput, won't raise or retract all the way. (He checked online, and found that this was a known problem with our year model and the 2000.)

Depending on how much it costs to replace, we may or may not fix it. But for now it's just disabled, and at least around town, I don't think we need the antenna. :confused3

Ahoy Mateys. DH bbq'd some steak, I made brown rice, cut up broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and red peppers along with Uncle Dan's dip. The herd has been fed. DD has a friend over that kept dropping hints she would like to ride in the convertible. So DH washed the car for us and we ran a couple of errands and stopped at McD for icecream.:thumbsup2 I really hope the cool weather sets in soon, otherwise all these convertible icecream runs are gonna add about 20 pounds on my hips!:rotfl2:

Does that mean you can get one of those Disabled Parking permits so you can park close to the door now?;)

We had Bisquick chicken pot pie and salad. The kids ate surprisingly well; OK, DS4 is a picky eater, and HE ate surprisingly well.

The convertible ice-cream run sounds... well... cool!

Unfortunately I've been having a few too many of those ice cream drives lately.

Unfortunately I've been having a few too many of those ice cream drives lately.
My friend in the neighborhood calls us to walk to a nearby McDonalds when the evenings are nice. We did that quite a bit over the summer, and then after the ice cream, the kids would run around in the playspace and we'd get a chance to chat.

Unfortunately the playspace has been removed (not sure if that is for good or not), so the last couple times we went DS4 was a little wild inside the restaurant; I spent the whole time chasing after him and trying to keep him out of the bathroom. :headache:

So... I guess I get a workout in after the ice cream. :rotfl:
