Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The first amendment is perhaps the greatest freedom we, as Americans, can have. It seems too many are forgetting this nowadays.

The Charters of Freedom

I have concerns on both side of this issue.

I grow very concerned whenever anyone try to supress free speech. However, I also believe that too many protestors have forgotten the word "peaceably" in the right of the people peaceably to assemble". People have the right to protest, as long as it does not interefere in the rights of others. To many protests have grown violent, or used tactics such as blocking traffic, as if violating the rights of others somehow helps to communicate their concerns more effectivly.

WDWHound,
Well said. It seems too many, while exercising their rights, tend to forget those rights are extended to others as well.
