I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question. Someone suggested I look into a private carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness to celebrate dh and my kidless 5th anniversary at the end of the month. I can't find info on this anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find info???? Thanks.

I got this info from wdwig.com

Private carriage rides - Cost $30/half-hour. Call (407) 824-2832 to reserve (reservations suggested, not required). Available at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. nightly. There are two carriages available; one accommodates four adults and two children, the other accommodates two adults and two children.

The carriage rides depart from the area in front of Crockett's Tavern at Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness Campground. The price is $30.00 for a 30-minute ride. Guests may pay by cash or charge it to their Disney resort room. Credit cards are not accepted.

Thanks so much for this info!!!!!!

Has anyone done this carriage ride? Is it worth it for $30 for half an hour??

I got this off of wdwig.com

The carriage rides are open to anyone who wishes to reserve one. They run from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance by calling 407/824-2832. The carriage rides depart from the area in front of Crockett's Tavern at Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness Campground. The price is $30.00 for a 30-minute ride. My wife and I just stumbled upon the carriage near Pioneer Hall one night a few years ago and we took the ride and it was very romantic and we were on the carriage when they did the fireworks at the castle and it was beautiful. Just one of those unplanned moments that is Disney!!!

My daughter and I did the carriage ride at Fort Wilderness in November. It was wonderful. I only have a few photos of it posted: click here to view them. I have the Fort Wilderness' and Port Orleans' carriage rides booked for my upcoming trip. I am looking forward to sharing them with my entire family this time (my last vacation was strictly a Mother/Daughter one).

Back in late September we took a carriage ride at twilight and it was just perfect. We saw some deer and some rabbits on the paths. It made a wonderful end to an already great day at WDW. I totally felt that it was worth the money. I even felt that it was worth the $10 tip I gave the driver. Linda and Scotty(the horse) made our night! Mickey

This sounds like it would be a great surprise for my wife
and kids. Which route (Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans)
would you recommend for a first timer ?

Sounds exciting. Has anyone taken a carriage ride after the Hoop-De-Doo revue?? I am booked into the 5:00pm show and was wondering what time is best to reserve the carriage ride. I was thinking of 7:00pm, does this sound right?

Hey Tonyspad,

I am booked at the 5:00 pm Hoop de Doo show also. i was also told to look into a hayride.

Any info on these would be great.

Is it $30 per person. Probably.

The carriage ride and the hayride are two completely different things, although they both leave from the same place.

The carriage ride is $30 and only holds a few people - very private. It is also booked in advance.

The hayride on the other hand is a big wagon that holds large groups and last I heard was $8/pp. I think it leaves every 1/2 hour or hour(?). I don't think you need to book in advance.

For a family of 4 is it $30 per person or per ride ?
Which route is recommended the ft. Wilderness or
Port Orleans route ?

chach

It was $30/ride and I only did the Ft. Wilderness route. It was nice and relaxing through wooded areas of the campground. There might be more "scenery" through Port Orleans. Anyone done the carriage ride there?
