Monday 29th June 2009

Had a very comfortable sleep, air con wonderful - and woke up to the alarm at 7am. I carefully rounded everyone up and we were in the park by a very respectable 8.15am. It was much busier than I expected it to be for EMH (early morning hours as we called it).

First ride of the day was Peter Pan, one of Lewis' favourite film. Was also a huge favourite of Mark and Abbey in their day. I glanced over at Lewis and he didn't look too thrilled - I think the dark surprised him. When we came off the CM asked if we wanted to go again, but Lewis immediately said no....was this really one of my children??

The next ride was the Dumbos - an absolute favourite for Lewis - 'We're flying mummy!!!'

Then onto the teacups - another favourite

And then our first go of Buzz. This was a new ride for all of us except Abbey who had been here with her friend in 2007 - if she hadn't told me that the carriage turned around, I'd never have known! I was absolute rubbish at it, even Lewis beat me.....

Mark, Abbey and I went on Space Mountain. Now, I love thrill rides, and have always done SM - but my head absolutely rattled on this, so much so that I had a thomping headache for ages afterwards. I don't know what they've done to this, but I don't remember it being like this before. John and Lewis waiting for us and John had just talked Lewis going onto Orbitrion - 'it's just like the Dumbos only it's a spaceship' when it broke down.

We then went back for breakfast to the hotel - it was about 9.30. Breakfast was a buffet style and was nice, served in the Parkside Diner - i think i've put a review on there. Lewis got a photo with Pluto.

We decided it would be a Studios day - as we knew there were lots of new things there since our last visit. We were there for about 10.15. I could not believe the difference!! The obligatory picture at the entrance is completely different to how I remember it...

I was particulary impressed with this view of the Hollywood Hills

And them up close the illusion is shattered!!!

Our first ride was to be the tram tour, which said a 10 minute wait and was more like 30. I got fastpasses for Tower of Terror, which I was not too sure if I was going to ride. Whilst I love the coasters, the feeling of by tummy coming out the top of my head does not appeal...... I used our old park tickets in the fastpass machine to try them out, and they worked a treat. The time for Fastpass however was 15.40 - so not sure if we would make that.

Then we went over to the Flying Carpets - another favourite for Lewis

Then we had a look round toon town - another new addition for us

And pictures with Buzz.....virtually no queue

And Remy - Lewis said to him 'Hi Remy, where's Emile?'

We had a wander round and took some photos of Lewis' favourite film, Cars - I loved this theming and if it had been cooler would have spent much longer here looking around.

We looked at Crush - but that's all we did!! Queue times were huge - 90 minutes or more every time we passed. Still can't figure out why they would make a ride unsuitable for a 4 year old and theme it on a film pitched at the younger age group :confused3

John, Mark and Abbey went over to Armageddon - and Lewis and I sat in the shade. I filled up our bottles with water, and Lewis had a nice drink of blackcurrent that i'd brought with us (this saved us a fortune, and he drank loads which he needed due to the heat). We all went into Animation Courtyard - not the bit before, just the end where you can look around and then draw. We all drew Mushu, from Mulan. Mark liked this picture of Pinochio

We had a wander past the brolly - the cool water attracting everyone

continued on new post..

Love the photos, jealous you got to see Remy, we queued for Remy then they switched over to Emile when we were 2 away:rolleyes:

Another great day.

I found the SM was really painful when we rode in January, even though we rode it a few times last year and it was fine. I can only think its to do with sitting at the back.....

I'm so jealous you met Remy too ~ he wasn't there when we went last summer. :sad1:
