The Story so far...
Day 0
Day1
Day 2 - Dry times ahead...
...yes we are off to MK today booze-hounds, which whilst it may have been Walt's dream and vision worries me as there are no bars- a travesty and no mistake, we shall need to have our best divining rods in hand to sniff out a drink somewhere.
Traditionally, this is the day when we feel the jet lag the most. For some reason it catches up with us after our first full day.
Weather is a little disappointing today, as it is overcast and not terribly warm - a relative term I know, but we ordered sunshine - so Disney need to buck their ideas up and get us some.
After a short bus ride we arrive at MK around 9ish (I think), there is nothing we are terribly desperate to do, but prefer a gentle stroll around the park to take a few photo's. When I say nothing we want to do, I want to go on Buzz so we wander in that general direction after first wandering around the side of the Castle into Fantasyland. Buzz is a walk on and have mixed success in our respective spaceships - needless to say I score higher
We continue on our merry way and decide to have a look in Toontown for a change, which we rarely do, and even rarer a look inside Minnie's house - sadly Minnie must be teetotal as I spy no illicit liquor anywhere in her place
We have a reservation today at the Wave, at the Contemporary, for lunch at 1pm. However, we have wandered around the park and find ourselves at the hub earlier than this so decide to get the Monorail to the Contemporary a little early and have a mooch around.
BLT is certainly coming along and will certainly be something to behold. A quick look around the shops in the Contemporary and we are off to the Wave for lunch.
We have read some mixed reviews of this place and some of the pictures we have seen of it don't look too good but we wanted to give it a go.
We decide to eat at the bar as opposed to in the restaurant and are extremely pleasantly surprised by the surroundings. We've often said that the one area that Disney resorts let themselves down is the bars, none are really what you would get in an upscale hotel elsewhere.
The Wave bar is a real break with that problem and is a very nice bar area, where we spend a pleasant couple of hours or so - food is very good and importantly the Yuengling, Orlando Brewery Pale Ale and Porter are also very nice - as is the Wild Turkey I finish off with. Deb has some cocktails, but cannot remember what they were.
After lunch we decide to head back to BWV and decide to get the monorail back to EPCOT and walk through the park.
On the way through EPCOT we have a go on Spaceship Earth which is certainly different and the ending is very good.
As we wander through Canada, I think it is time for a quick Moosehead as the thirst is upon me
Deb has a glass of Chardonnay, which I think is a Chateau Vinegar - it is vile, even I can't drink it
Back at the room a quick Negro Modelo is enjoyed whilst Deb has a glass of wine and we relax for a bit, being rather bushed out. We get ourselves presentable, which always seems to take 10 time longer than me, not sure why and we decide to go to ESPN (well I decide and Deb hasn't got the heart to let me down!). Some wings and nachos are shared washed down liberally by a few Yuenglings and a couple of bourbons, Deb enjoys a coupld of glasses of wine.
We are watching the elections on a screen just in front of us, but are becoming somewhat weary, so decide to give up on the day and come back to the room. The day is rounded off by a Negro whilst watching CNN - as much as I want to watch all of the results I'm just too tired so we give in to sleep.
