Great night for Hamilton!

And for us...the hubs got us tickets for the show in March. Pretty excited!

I played that game this morning--I looked at a number of dates to see what tickets were available. I didn't find any!

It's rather crazy considering the price!

I was able to get 2 last night but ended up releasing them, I could bring myself to pay $430 for 2 tickets when there are so many other shows I want to see...

What I want to know is are all the premium tickets for $849 gone?

I don't know about all, but the dates I searched didn't have three together anywhere!

Thursday, June 30, the date I randomly picked, has over 200 tickets available, more than 15% of the capacity of the theater. There are likely more on other secondary ticketing sites. Prices start at $2020.20. I assume that's for each ticket.

Disgusting. Supposedly raising the prices and only allowing a maximum of 6 per order was supposed to stop the resellers from grabbing so many. I guess we can see how that worked. As for seeing the show on tour......many of the tour locations are already advising to buy into the season this year to get a shot at Hamilton tickets for next year. The Kennedy Center stated that this will pretty much be the only way to get Hamilton, and the Blumenthal Center in Charlotte NC hinted that this would be the "best" way to get your chance at Hamilton tickets for 2017-2018. I would suggest looking into the Broadway series in your area for this year to see what they are advising if you are interested in Hamilton for next year.

So weird they are on Stubhub as there is an official resell. I wouldn't trust Stubhub tickets as that and Craigslist have been coming up fake.

I cried throughout at least half of the Tonys. I was really an emotional wreck in general on sunday. Lin's speech really got me.

Loved seeing Barbra. Wish she had done more on Broadway. I love hearing tales from those who saw her in Funny Girl.

I think this Tonys was one of the best. Oddly I think the Hamilton performance fell a little flat. I know it is because they had to redo a lot of the choreography since they removed the muskets. I didn't enjoy the Fiddler performance either. I really thought the Waitress performance showcased the show and how bright and happy it is. I honestly remember James Cordon's stuff more than the performances. He was just brilliant as a host and played the room well. I also like that it was about the theater. The opening number had me crying as I was one of those kids that sat there at shows and wanted to be apart of it all. It didn't happen for me but hey at least I tried and who knows many 10-20 years from now I'll circle back to theater and be able to devote myself fully to lighting design. Sadly right now it just doesn't pay the bills.

I have to agree with you....after seeing the number from Hamilton, I was left thinking....THAT'S what the fuss is all about? But I'm also the type of guy who finds few things live up to their hype...

In fact, NONE of the numbers presented made me want to rush out and get tickets to any of those shows. (And I love the scores of Fiddler and She Loves Me!)

For the most part, the Tony Awards were really enjoyable to watch. Loved seeing Barbra Streisand giving out the award for best musical. Yes, I wish she hadn't abandoned her theater career. Also enjoyed those brief performances outside the theater. I didn't really care for the car karaoke. Totally unnecessary, but I know why it was included. A shorter version would have been fine, but it went on far too long.

I was interested in seeing The Crucible, but that brief snippet on video dampened my enthusiasm. Don't like the idea that it's set in modern times.

Glad they remembered David Bowie in the memorial tribute.

People are willing to pay those outrageous prices on Stub Hub to see Hamilton???

We're planning on going to NYC this Saturday. I'll check out what's available at TKTS. Bound to find something worth seeing for a reasonable price.

Neither number they showed from Hamilton makes me want to rush to get tickets. The Grammy performance from a few months ago didn't either. Maybe when (and if, a BIG if) the hoopla dies down, I might be interested.

That Shuffle Along (with another paragraph in the title) show looks interesting, but it's not something I have to see.

It's so funny because I had the opposite reaction. I felt like the performances at the Tony Awards really made me want to see all the shows. It left me feeling like this is a great time on Broadway and for live theater in general. I want to see Shuffle Along, the Color Purple, School of Rock, Bright Star, Waitress and Fiddler after seeing the Tony's. We were lucky last month and managed to get face price Hamilton tickets for January but now I'm thinking we may make a whole theater weekend of it and see a couple shows while we're there. I don't live in the NYC area so don't get there that often. Though we do have tickets to see Kinky Boots in DC in July and hopefully will get Wicked tickets for their DC run in December or January.

I loved the show, and thought we didn't see nearly enough of James. He was wonderful. Lin made me cry also. I also agree, that Waitress was the highlight for me (but didn't find the second song choice bright and happy), Jessie Mueller is incredible!
The opening number got me too, I was not a theater kid, but my dd is, so I have gone through it all with her.
I would love to see Shuffle Along, and the School of Rock performance actually got me interested (I can't stand most ALW shows). And we will, someday, see Hamilton. Don't know when or where, but eventually. Waitress is the one I really want to see more than anything.

Funny, but I have no desire to see Waitress. I, also, will see Hamilton "some day". But I'm sure it will be YEARS from now at a Paper Mill production with our season subscription! I really DO want to see She Loves Me again. I liked how we felt when we left the theatre. Sometimes you just really need that happy lift.

Seeing it in the theater was 3 of my favorite hours ever. And I've seen 100+ Broadway shows in my lifetime.

Same. It was like the Hunger Games trying to get tickets when it was at the Public, so we jumped on tickets right away when they went on sale for the Broadway run and we got to see it last August. Even then, the reviews were through the roof and every friend I have who (like me) sees tons of theater were falling over themselves to praise it. I honestly thought nothing could live up to that kind of hype by the time I finally got to see it...then within about the first 15 minutes of the show I understood exactly what all the fuss was about. It's just an absolutely brilliant piece of theater...you realize it even more so when you listen to the cast recording and pick up how intricate all of the lyrics are. Lin-Manuel Miranda really is a genius.

The hype it out of control for it at this point. I work a few blocks from the theater and people are now camping out for days on that cancellation line. And as much as I love the show, I wouldn't pay $849 for a ticket even if they promised I could play carpool karaoke with the cast on the way home. It's nuts, but the show is worth every accolade they're hurling in its direction right now.

And I loved School of Rock and Color Purple - two of my other favorite shows this season!
