The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

Oh, me me ME! We did manage to see it off-broadway. It was my daughter's boyfriend's first show ever, and he really enjoyed it. Sam (daughter) and I really loved it. Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones are just incredible. We will be revisiting it at the Belahsco if at all possible!

My best friend and I are getting tickets for our birthdays. So I'm very happy to hear such positive things! Granted that's in December but I'm excited anyway!

TONY DAY!!!

12 hours!!!

Saw Blackbird and fiddler this week. I really enjoyed Blackbird, more then I expected which is always nice!

I had already seen Fiddler and am happy, because when we went to get the tickets at will call they upgraded is to 5th row aisle.... But Danny Burstein was out.... A little disappointing the day before the Tonys if I may say so.... But the show was still enjoyable.

I am excited for The Tonys..... But don't shoot me, I'm also excited for the end of the season of Hamilton, I'm hoping we get a ton of great shows next season. I think some shows waited a season so they were up against them..

But anyone trying to Hamilton tickets tonight, good luck!

That is EXACTLY how we felt! We had these goofy smiles on our faces the entire show! And, did you get to meet Zachary Levi afterwards? He was the most charming actor I have ever met! We had such a nice chat. (he sang on our friend's CD and we sang a few bars together. lol)
I didn't do the stage door afterwards, but I've heard nothing buy great things about Zachary and his fans!

I caught Bright Star and An Act of God yesterday. I enjoyed Bright Star - Carmen's voice was insane and she was just an absolute force on that stage. While I liked the show a great deal, there was just something about it that just didn't gel for me, but the only real criticism I have is all of that extra "dancing" from the ensemble.

An Act of God was hysterical. Sean Hayes was a delight and the show definitely had me laughing out loud.

I'm sooo excited for the Broadway bowl... er, the TONYS tonight! Tonight marks 20 years since I watched my first broadcast at the tender age of 10. It's probably my favorite night of the year - I haven't missed a broadcast and I don't ever intend to!

Are going to be live-posting here? Should we maybe start a live TONYS thread? I'm so excited!!!!!!!

The Islamic terrorist massacre in Orlando has really put a damper on my usual Tony Day euphoria. I wonder if they'll address it tonight?

They may as the TONYS has issued this statement: "Our hearts are heavy for the unimaginable tragedy that happened last night in Orlando. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected. The Tony Awards dedicate tonight's ceremony to them. "

Loved the beginning!!! And I love how they had a small jam band!

And I still can't believe this thread is still going on.

Great tribute to Orlando. Amazing opening! Could have skipped the last bit before the commercial...

That he is!!!! That poem he wrote for his speech had me in tears. This is only his first speech of the night. I can't wait to see what else he pulls out of his bag of tricks.
