The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

Alfie singing "Bring Him Home" at the Memorial Day concert. Perfection....:lovestruc

Saw Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike last night. Very funny play. It helps if you've read Chekhov's The Seagull, The Cherry Orchard, Uncle Vanya and/or The Three Sisters, since much of the play is drawn from Chekhov, but it's very funny even if you don't get the Chekhov references.

The stage manager also gave us a short tour of the set and backstage areas. I have now officially been on the Broadway stage.

Busy Broadway month for us- we are going to see Potted Potter next Saturday and 2 and then Phantom at 8. Just got tickets for Peter and the Starcatcher for the 19th and Annie for the 28th. I don't think we can squeeze another show in for June!

We just got back from NY. Got to see Book Of Mormons finally. Really liked it. But Motown blew us away!!!
Nancy :thumbsup2

Love watching it, but it will be on the DVR. It falls on my Birthday this year! princess:princess:princess:princess::cool1::cool1::cool1:

What's the point of complaining? Time marches on, and considering the alternative, I still love to celebrate my birthday!:rockband:

That's what DVR's were meant for. Go enjoy!

Tony Awards Sunday night! Who's excited?

I am going to watch for sure this year being we are having one heck of a broadway show year!
I also pricelined a hotel and we are staying in the city Saturday night after seeing Phantom! We have always wanted to stay in the city and always ended up just taking the train back home after the show but since we are doing a double header and will be in the city all day I figured it would be nice to just crash there for the night after the show.
Has anyone here ever stayed in the Millennium Broadway Hotel?? That's the one priceline got us!

I have to DVR it - I have to work 3-11 on Sunday night. I haven't seen many of the nominated shows this year, but I did see Annie, Hands on a Hardbody and The Mystery of Edwin Drood, soI have seen a few things.

Ok, I thought someone here might get my giddiness, since no one in my office does. My daughter does, but she's at home.
I just got an email that Billy Crystals 700 Sundays is coming to Minneapolis before it goes back for its final shows on Broadway. I jumped online and got tickets in row C, main floor!!!! I'm soooooooooooooo excited!!! I love Billy! They cost me an arm and 2 legs, but I figure it's probably once in a lifetime show for us.

I cannot believe how many tickets I have for the next year, good grief. Good thing I am working a ton of hours these days, or I could never afford this.

We saw this on Broadway. Very entertaining! We love Billy Crystal, too.

I have a number of local shows that I am planning on seeing. A local company has all shows that I love or want to see. I am pretty lucky. I got involved with the costume shop a few years ago and any time they need help they send an email. I just got a dress to make for the little girl in Music Man and there is more coming. For the work that I do I get 2 free tickets.

I also won 2 tickets in a blood drive last year and need to use those before the end of the month.

The only thing I have to pay for in the next couple of months is Menopause the Musical which I am seeing this week with 22 people I work with

Well the rain held off and we had a great weekend in the city! Potted Potter was very funny, had dinner at Carmines (SO cheap, 28.00 for two of us and we could have fed 2 more with what was leftover!), did some shopping (Sephora, Hersheys etc) then headed back to the hotel for a bit before heading back out to see Phantom. After Phantom we were back over to Times Square and hung out a bit before heading back to the hotel. Caught an early train out of there today since it was the Puerto Rican Day Parade and wanted to get out before the crowds started coming in. We have tickets this afternoon for a local production of Into The Woods.
