The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

Anyone been to the updated Jekyll and Hyde Restaurant in Times Square lately? Hoping to go there on Mother's Day.

Haven't been there yet. Loved the one that closed. Planning to go when we see Jekyll & Hyde in mid May.

A shocking loss, gone far too soon. We were lucky enough to meet Roy at the Surflight Theater last summer when he was still heading things up there. Just this weekend we went to a show there and were saying we hoped Roy would come back again.

This past November we saw "A Christmas Story: The Musical" and it was awesome.

Another light dims for Broadway. :(

So are we all excited sbout the Tony's?

Kinky Boots got 13 nominations. We loved thr show.

Excited for Matilda! Hope Bertie Carvel wins. He was hysterical!

I was already really interested in the show because I really enjoyed the movie so I was glad to see it got so many noms. I hope it goes on tour soon so I can actually see it.

So disappointed. We have tickets for Jekyll & Hyde but won't get a chance to see it after all, the show just posted its closing notice and will close just days before we would have seen it.

Oh that stinks. Are you able to exchange for an earlier date? Or do you just get a full refund?

Show's closing Sunday, I think. We were supposed to go next Tuesday. We get a refund, of course.

Wow, that didn't last long.

I have to say I wasn't impressed when I saw the show.

I also have to, sadly, say that we missed War Horse out of our season ticket package. We were too tired after a big day for our fundraising group

It may not have been the best show but I am glad I got to see it in it's pre-broadway tour. I like Constantine so I am biased when I say I don't think it was that bad.

I haven't seen it, but I've heard wonderful things about it. Should be a fun time.

I saw it, it was great! It's very faithful to the original Roald Dahl book, and it's funny, totally twisted, and very sweet.

The cast is incredible. We saw Milly Shapiro as Matilda (there are 4 girls sharing the role who alternate at each performance) and she was amazing - and so tiny! Milly is 10 years old, but Matilda is only 5, and she still totally looked 5 on stage. Bertie Carvel is hysterical and completely terrifying as Miss Trunchbull, and the couple who play Matilda's parents are also really horrible and hysterical too. Like I said, it's a really twisted show!

But it was awesome. My mom liked it so much that she just got tickets to see it again so she can take my dad can see it.

Have a great time! :thumbsup2

Can't wait! We are going May 19th!

I see Matilda on May 16th, and Pippin on May 10th! Very much looking forward to both!

I saw Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike last week. I enjoyed it, but I definitely didn't love it.
