The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

I thought is was really, really great. It was grand and heartfelt and for sure made me cry. I would definitely recommend seeing it. We went to the matinee on Sunday and since it is not very well known yet it was not very full. My tickets were actually for the upper balcony and I got moved to the main floor like the twentieth row so that was great. If you are interested in buying the tickets online use the code "THANKYOU" and you can save $20 per ticket (it was on a flier they passed out on the way out of the show). Also if you are interested in meeting the cast the alley behind the theater is where they come out and there were maybe 8 people waiting yesterday so I got to get signatures from much of the cast and pictures (including with Mr. Norbert Leo Butz himself) Sorry this is such a long answer to your short question but I just wanted to share all the information.

How cool, Miss Disney!

I've loved Norbert Leo Butz since he was Fiyero in "Wicked". :thumbsup2

I bought tickets today for me and my daughter (13) to see Potted Potter- We have to stop because we are seeing at least one show a month in NYC and one or 2 a month at local places LOL-- actually we are seeing Potted Potter at 2pm on June 8th and we are going to head to TKTS to see if we can grab an 8pm show of something that night too!

I actually think that is one of the ones on youtube. It is awesome. He and Sherri Rene Scott were just perfect in that show.

They are both so amazing. I just live the simplicity of the format of the show but the complexity of the story being told. I can't wait to see the movie version when it comes out. Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan might not be as great as the originals but they will be good nonetheless.

I just saw that on Wikipedia. I am afraid. If they can't compare I will not be happy. Most movie versions disappoint me and I always complain. :lmao: It has been done in my area twice and I keep missing it!

I saw it once here and it was actually very good. I was afraid too that it could not possible live up but both actors had great voices and even added little things to the parts that made it better. I ended up going twice during it's run. Have you seen Pitch Perfect or Camp? Anna Kendrick has a really great voice and if you have seen Smash or Newsies you know how great Jeremy Jordan is.

I saw Camp years ago and hated it. I heard the soundtrak from Newsies and was not impressed. It takes a lot to impress me. I am a stuck up theater snob. It drives my mom nuts! :lmao:

Loved Potted Potter. Very funny show if you like Harry Potter. Total waste if you've never read the books or seen the movies.

I admit Camp is not a good movie and it has been at least 6 or 7 years since I have seen it but I remember thinking that Anna was the only one in the show I was impressed by. She is part if the reason I ever watched the first Twilight movie.

I had people tell me I had bad taste cause the movie was "incredible". I laughed. At least they are the right ages for Cathy and Jamie.

My daughter and I are both Harry Potter freaks- read the books, listened to the books on audio, saw all the movies (some at the midnight premier) so it should be a fun show for us!

They have a wicked sense of humor. You'll love it.

It hasn't posted a closing notice yet. It's just a rumor going around in the theater forums.

Just saw it on their FB page. Final performance is June 15 after 505 performances.

Yeah, it was just announced today. No word on what's moving into the Imperial yet. Les Mis isn't coming until March, I can't imagine that they want the theater empty that long (assuming that Les Mis is coming to the Imperial).
