I just did a random search for Book of Mormon tickets on Telecharge. Right now their date range search starts at January 2012. There's nothing earlier than that other than premium seats.

Scottsboro Boys was my favorite musical of the season, and I saw them all (except AG and H2$). Just amazing all the way around. BOM is Out-of-control fun, but there was just something very special about Scottsboro.

I do have to say that I listen to the Baby, It's You Cast recording quite a bit when I'm at the gym. I wish the show had been that much fun live. :-(

Has anyone seen anything lately? Before I left school at the end of May I did a double header of Million Dollar Quartet and Sister Act. The guys in Million Dollar Quartet are just fantastic and the music is really fun even though there isn't much of a plot and then Sister Act is just way too much fun!

And then the day before I graduated I went into the city to see a new show off-off-Broadway, Lysistrata Jones, which resets Lysistrata from Ancient Greece to the world of college basketball and cheerleading and I have to say it was VERY well-done! I hope it gets to move to Broadway in the fall like it's rumored to.

Two days later I moved back home and started my real job and on my first Wednesday off (my schedule changes weekly... very annoying) I hopped a bus to NYC and ran into a friend and we saw How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and it was great! We were both VERY impressed with Daniel Radcliffe!

No plans to see anything on Broadway anytime soon but I'm seeing the east coast premiere of a new-ish show, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown, in three weeks at Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. I've been waiting to see a production of this since I first heard the demos five years ago so I'm driving the two hours down to CT to go see it!

Has anyone seen anything lately?

I have tickets to see Anything Goes on September 1st. I'm going to have to try to see H2$ soon... I'm not a fan of Radcliffe on the cd as his singing isn't the greatest, but going by the clips I've seen, I'm very impressed by his dancing.

WAR HORSE was just amazing. The script isn't the best, but it is pure theatrical magic from start to finish. If anyone here gets the opportunity to see it, GO. You won't regret it.

Sister Act was a blast! Patina Miller is wonderful as Delores... and with the sequined habits, a chorus full of women belting their faces off, and the disco-ball Mary statue, what's not to love? I enjoyed it alot more than Priscilla...although I had a fun time there too. My big issue with Priscilla was the fact that it doesn't have an original score.

I see the revival of RENT next week. Not sure how i feel about it as I wasn't a fan of the original.

I haven't seen anything lately, my next show is La Cage in october.

I finally got to see Wicked at the beginning of the month.

Our sons gave us and their gf's tickets. The 6 of us went into the city, had lunch, did the Disney, M&M and Hersey stores. Then the show. Had a great time.

We went with younger son's gf and it was her first Broadway show. That was a lot of fun.

Agree- enjoyed this version of LaCage the best - opening week for Harvey Fierstein and Jeffrey Tambor! Loved the show and the intimate staging. Thought Fierstein was great, and TOTALLY understand why Tambor left after 10 performances! I wonder how are they keeping the intimate feel on the road.

Hoping to be in NY in 2 or 3 weeks and trying to catch either Catch Me if you Can and Rent, using Hair (haven't seent the revival) as a backup.

I was able to see this version of La Cage twice with Kelsey Grammar and enjoyed it both times. Absolutely adored the young man who played the "butler". He was a hoot!

Just recently we spent five days in the city as our summer vacation and saw two shows. Priscilla Queen of the Dessert, and How to Succeed in Business. Neither one "wowed" me, but I liked How to Succeed better than Priscilla. I just didn't "get it" I guess.

My DD and I have tickets for Rent in August, just before she goes back to college. We have only seen the movie and really want to see the stage version.

I saw ZARKANA @ Radio City a few weeks ago. What a SPECTACULAR show!! Everybody in the audiance loved it!

It's only playing a couple more months, then it's off to Madrid then Moscow.

Sharon, enjoy the show! When are you going? I saw the show during its third preview, so things were a little rough; but the four girls who play the Shirelles are fantastic! I actually listen to the cd quite a bit.

I was able to see that too, and I'm afraid to ever see it with anyone else now! I'm afraid no one could live up to those two.

We are going to NY at the end of September. This is my first time going (I am so excited! ) with my family. My two teenagers are really involved in our school musicals ... one is head of lighting and the other was the beast in Beauty and the Beast last year. (Sorry ... had to brag a little.) Anyway, we have seen musicals come to our city ... but we are very excited to see a couple of Broadway shows when we go.

There are so many experts on these boards, I would love to hear what you would suggest we see. I was thinking of just waiting until the day we plan to see a musical and go to the 1/2 price ticket booth. Would you agree with this? And what musicals would you suggest for a family of all boys (17, 16 and 11). I keep suggesting Spiderman ... but my oldest boys keep saying it didn't get good reviews.

Also, has anyone done the Accomplice New York? This seems like a lot of fun.

Spider-Man did not get good reviews, but It might be worth it to check out, just to be able to say that you saw it. I have to admit that, everything else aside, the sets are pretty amazing. There is a scene in the beginning with actresses in the air weaving yellow silk that is *BEAUTIFUL*.

You could also look into Billy Elliot - great show... lots of the "F" word though (I don't know if thats a problem or not). I was not too excited about seeing it when I heard the cd, but when I finally saw it, I got *so* swept up in the story.

Sister Act is a BLAST! SOOOOOO much fun - and it'd be a good show for a first Broadway experience - lots of flash/sparkle and amazing singing.

My top pick:
*****War Horse at Lincoln Center - not a musical, but do *EVERYTHING* in your power to see this.*****

TKTS is great, just make sure you have more than one show you'd be willing to see, as there is never any guarantee as to what shows will offered or for how long. It's totally a crap-shoot as to what will be up; Just keep in mind that WICKED and (most likely) WAR HORSE won't be up there; I've seen JERSEY BOYS up there, and SPIDER-MAN is up pretty regularly.

Mama Mia is the only iffy one on the list. IF we win region one act then the week Mama Mia is running will be prep time for state. Good for one act...not so great for seeing Mama Mia.

I second this motion!! If you don't leave with your toes tapping from Jersey Boys then you need to take your pulse!! Sadly, I am in a bit of a drought right now. Because of where we live in British Columbia we need to count on Seattle for our Broadway Across America "fixes!" I think the next show we are seeing is American Idiot next JUNE!!! AAAIIIEEE! That is a long time from now. Although... the husband and I am currently in a production of "South Pacific" at our local level. Hubby is Luther Billis... so much fun!!! There ain't nothin' like a dame you know! I am so envious of you New York bound folk!!!!
