What sort of hobbies do you have?

I have three that keep me pretty busy.

1. Running
I really enjoy running and actually feel a little disappointed when I can’t get a run in because of weather or life getting in the way. I have two different loops through my neighborhood that I use for interval runs. It’s not just good exercise; it’s also a nice way to see what’s going on around the neighborhood.

2. Bowling
About three years ago my wife and I decided we needed to get out of the house more and spend less time watching TV. We started going bowling once a week, and it’s something I look forward to every week now. I bowled quite a bit as a kid, and I’ve managed to work my way back close to my 14-year-old peak.

3. Financial churning
This started with trying to get the most out of credit card rewards and points, but it’s grown into a broader hobby involving not only credit card rewards but status matching, timeshare presentations, account bonuses, etc. Now I enjoy finding any financial opportunity where I can get more out than I put in.

What about you—do you have any hobbies?

Travelling and when not travelling planning travel and watching travel you tube videos.
Jigsaw puzzles
Reading
Attending live theatre especially musical theatre.
Music
Trying different local restaurants

1) Computers
2) Classic cars
3) Serving as Treasurer for a small non-profit service club. Spend hours this week doing our 990EZ tax form. Still have to file annual forms with the Secretary of State and Department of Corporations. If we had hired a tax professional, it would have cost us $1,300. All for an organization with a budget of less than $7,000!

Travel, particularly if there is a historical component.
Coin collecting
I volunteer at an historic home.
Online courses that are not in my area of work knowledge.

Wild flowers

Running--only 5Ks, not marathons

Travel--now focusing on USA and driving longer distances. Somehow we have branched away from air travel, unless it is for work

Microbrews--trying new breweries on our travels

True Crime--I love evenings with a glass of wine on my night stand and reading/participating in online true crime discussions

Cooking with new and different ingredients

Live music--anywhere from small pub bands to large arena concerts

Working out - a combination of cardio certain days and strength training on others.

Refereeing soccer - sort of a side gig (as I obviously get paid for it), but it’s more to stay in shape and help give something back to a sport my kids played for so many years.

Travel advisor - again, a side gig (for now), but I got certified as a travel agent last fall. For now, I’ve only done it for our own trips and some friends and family, but post retirement, I’ll work on drumming up more business online.

Boating

Pickleball

Golf

Gaming - video games (playing and collecting), board games and playing card games like Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh, Uno etc

Cars - rally, F1, tuners, JDM's, NASCAR, racing video games like Forza Horizon and Gran Turismo, Doug DeMuro, Motorweek etc. Want to learn to modify cars eventually, maybe go to track weekends and stuff.

Travel - exploring and discovering cities, going on hikes, road trips

Music - currently listening to a mix of warped tour bands and electronic music, going to see my favorite bands live

also like to read, follow sports, biking, skateboarding etc i'm down for anything!

watch collecting
My dad is a watch collector, i've got a small collection myself (mostly g-shock, casios, a citizen and nixon) really want a Tag Heuer watch one day.

Aside from the obvious Disney stuff… I largely dabble in AM/FM radio and its many forms… long distance reception, EAS, and many more.

When I’m out of town, I usually will tape what I call “audio souvenirs” from where I visit. My most recent visit to Walt Disney World had me go through several towns in the southeast. Thus, I got tons of radio from Georgia and the Carolinas in addition to Florida. I scrapbook them in an archive that I set up… they’re going to be throwbacks in the future… it’s so nice to document what radio was these days.

Cool idea! I'm all for media preservation in any way, shape or form. Those audio souvenirs could be used as samples like the intro for this song!
