Good thing I'm not going to WDW until late Aug-Sept (My Seasonal Pass wouldn't let me anyway!) because it's crowded - with both out-of-state folks and turismos (Argentinean youth hers and the Brazilian tour groups.)

But then again, I'm chancing it in Universal Orlando - you can bet my bottom dollar that they'll be present there! Here comes the Floridian, Samba Muggles! :thumbsup2

Haha. I went with a school group in the very beginning of May the following things happened:

1. A little bit older than 15 year old girls (still brazillians) walk around All Star Music (anywhere, and everywhere) in the smallest bikinis possible, 24/7.
2. The around 15 year old girls all wear matching tee shirts, bows, etc.
3. For around 30 girls there were 2 Ladies.
4. They take pictures of anything, and everything.
5. If 1 of them is infront of you, eventually they all get infront of you.
6. They talk in Spanish and Portuguese and sometimes English. Once you think you might understand what they are saying to you, they change lauguages.
7. As soon as we got off at the Magic Kingdom, it seemed like they stalked us for the rest of the day.
8. They stay up 24/7. I mean we stayed up late but not every second of the trip.
9. They bring PETS. Haha.
10. They ask for your food.

The list goes on and on. Ha. That's just a little bit. :wizard:

We came back on saturday after 3 weeks in orlando and there were loads of them. Every park we went into there seemed to be at least 3 groups.

I saw their escort handing out fast passes to them for Rock & Roller Coaster at HS, so I guess that it's part of their deal that they get fast passes for the FP rides.

Alba
:)

Well I suppose it's better than being mobbed in the stanby line. :sad2:

Quite funny to watch the guide inserting the 200 park passes at the fastpass machine - time to change queue!!

:lmao: A few times we've got to the fastpass machine at various attractions to find every machine occupied by a Brazilian tour guide!!
A little bit of Portuguese later, however, and they usually let me get our two fastpasses in front of them and off we go :thumbsup2

Hi there, sorry I'm kinda of barging into the UK trip planning forum...;) but as a grown-up (but child at heart :p) Brazilian let me say: unfortunaly WDW is the most seeked Vacation destination among the teenagers parties in high school and middle scholl . For many of them is their very first experience out off parental supervision. So I can pretty picture all the bad situations described. :headache:

July is the middle year break (our 'winter' vacation time) and for most schools, December till the beggining of Feb are the summer vacation months. So around this time of year you'll surely find waves or one tsunami or another of young Brazilians.
Many of them will be just overly happy to be at WDW and will make noise but will follow the common rules of commom sense :hippie: but when you're young and hungry to be accept in the group, if there are bad examples to be followed and showed off to the others...you'll see waht you'll see.:scared1:

I am not justifying everything they do but when these same parties crash along other vacations destinations here in Brazil (as our Porto Seguro, Maceio or Natal beaches - google them to see what beauties they are), they'll despicting the same behavior. It's not just something they'll do b/c they're in WDW. :(

(But must be fun to see their face when you answer them in Portuguese or tell them to "Calem a boca!" - shut up!):sad2:

See u around;

I just wanted to say that we returned recently. We saw several groups this year.
One group was HUGE, I actually spoke to one of the leaders, who was polite, and spoke English and seemed glad to share info. He said the group was 805 kids, they were all 15 years olds. For most, it was their first time away from home. He said that those that are able to do this, can actually afford the trip, so they are lucky. I think it was was some type of "right of passage" as he described it.....interesting actually..........
That being said. They were HUGE in numbers, but many in small groupings with leaders for each, each with a different color flag to "herd" them around.
We saw them at TL and also at MK. For the most part, we were actually very impressed. Yes, some chanted (annoying!) but most were quite respectful, picked up trash or anything that dropped, moved from the table after they finished their meal (to give it to another family). They did not plow into people. Many had to sit on the floor with a tray to enjoy their lunch. I actually found someones food voucher and turned it in, I felt so bad....that'd be my kid, losing his food plan :rolleyes1
I actually told one of the leaders that in the past, we avoided this time of year because of the large groups, but were pleasantly surprised (since this was not a time we'd normally visit) since the HUGE groups can really impact ones trip!

Just our take............and we saw no groups at POLY or POR! I think he said they stayed values.........:confused3

yes, they stay at the values...
they're pretty much like any large group of 15 year olds on a trip...

if you've ever been at WDW during the cheering competitions, you'll see young american kids acting just as rambuctiously....

kids will be kids...

i was just surprised to see them in mid-june when i was there a few weeks ago..

we always go in july and i'd always thought that was the big month, so i was very surprised to see so many groups already there by the 3rd week of june...

Hi all

We experienced them last year in July so bloody rude it is incredible, they feel the need to share their songs with you so loudly at every opportunity.

We were waiting in line at the Little Mermaid Show at the studios, there were a few at the front and we were next (me, wife and 3 sprouts) talking to an elderly American couple. The Brazilians kept calling their friends to the front and after about 3 or 4 moved up, I had had enough and stopped the next one and in no uncertain terms told him he wasnt passing! This was treated with silence in the waiting area, then a rousing round of applause from everyone but them.

When we went into the show, they were permanently taking flash fotos and kept whistling the girl playing Ariel.

I wouldnt say it spoilt the holiday, but be aware, this is the time of year we normally go and we caught them in 07 and 09. Also, who ever said they stayed at the Value resports are correct, they do.

Anyway up, have a good day everyone, cant believe I am complaining at 7:15 on a morning.

Cheers

Steve

Are these the same as the large tour groups that we spotted whilst we were there? There were so many of them!!! Everywhere you turned they were there! We had 3 girls from one of the groups cut in front of us and several others on Disaster at Universal Studios, and I simply tapped them on the shoulder and told them to get to the back of the line and wait like everyone else! I was very hot and tired by that point and wasn't willing to put up with people cutting in when the wait time was only 20minutes! lol No one else joined in, and just ignored what had happened, and in the end the girls managed to sneak to the front of the line! :furious:

We had just the opposite experience at the haunted mansion...
We somehow entered in the middle of a group...
Each kid stopped and invited us to move in front of them
when I said we were ok they were insistent that we go ahead
maybe because my 83 year old mom was with us

There is always an exception to the "rule" (said rule being either actual or percieved). So glad you found it! :)

No entire family, group, or nation is ever perfect and none can be ALL bad ;) :goodvibes

no need for childishness is there...

So when are they likely to be in Florida is it mainly June/July

They were groups of them in January. I can't say they bothered me though. There was also big American groups, they must of been about a group of 500 of them at MK. They made it difficult to navigate around the park trying to get around them however I saw no bad behaviour from ether groups. Worse things than being loud.

They are still here, in their 100's. On Thursday we went to MK and you could not get a spot down main street with 90mins to go for the parade. Have also noticed a lot of the staff in restaurants and hotels are apologising for them. We have found that most of them are very rude and ignorant and really love the sound of their own voices, especially in the early hours. Having a fab time though and only had one real downpour in the last 10 days. The weather for the next week is hot, hot, hot with 20,30percent chance of rain.

I made a comment about badly behaved Liverpool folk on our plane on another thread and a couple of people were upset, one has even made reference to Brazilians on this thread. Why is it acceptable to make comments about Brazilians, but not not people from Liverpool?

Interested in peoples thoughts? Yours especially Luke? I think you mentioned in my thread why I had to even mention the people were from Liverpool (which was a fair point), and then you join in here?

I tried to post something similar about this the other day and the post was removed (probably the right thing) but since then there are references to "them" "ignorant" and"rude" amongst other things..

We have just come back from a 15 night stay, and have also experienced the large Brazilian and Paraguan tour groups. Suprisingly, we didnt find any at Universal, but they were terrible at Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, and especially Busch Gardens. I dont begrudge 15 year olds behaviour, Im not much older and I remember what it was like being at that age, and i wouldnt complain if it was mindless, childish behaviour, but the sheer ignorance sometimes gets to me. I think the heat, the overcowded areas stress everyone out, but when theres a group of 80 odd teenagers walking side by side, not even leaving a gap for anyone to get past, it really becomes frustrating. We also found hundreds of them at the Florida Mall, Walmart, Premium and Prime Outlets.. they were everywhere.

Then again, I dont want to sound arrogant and snobbish, I understand that most of the groups were well behaved, and did not mean to disrupt anyone else's holiday's, and to be fair, we didnt experience any queue jumpers. It was just the loudness and ignorance of some that I think suprises us Brits, Im sure back in Brazil this behaviour is deemed normal, and some of our behaviour may upset Americans.

Just returned from a 14 day trip and there were lots of groups in all the parks.

I must admit that I found them all to be polite at all times - no one pushed in line.

It brings colour to the parks as well.

Maybe I am the exception but I was expecting rudeness, but they were all fine with us.
