~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Vacation is 5/23-6/1:yay:. We're staying at a timeshare in Carlsbad for a week for some beach time but we're also taking the kids to DL for a few days, staying in Anaheim and then we'll stay in San Diego for RNR on 5/31:hippie:. I am actually doing some customer visits one day and DH will take the kids to Universal that day because I don't do Universal due to my WDW loyalty:rolleyes1. We've even worked a Taylor Swift concert into the trip in SD so the DD's are loving us right now:love:. It's ALL good:lovestruc

It seems like now I am not running away from things anymore I have no desire to put in a bunch of miles:confused3. I plan on getting out tonight for 5 or so and then look to a solid LR sometime over the weekend:hippie:. Counting down the days until vacation for sure:thumbsup2
Sara- I hope you have a great vacation with your family. So DH is staying with you the whole time now? Best of luck with everything.

:bitelip: Yup, we're all flying out to SD 5/23 and flying home from SD 6/1. Thanks for your kind words:hug: I've had to take a lot of mental health time off from work this past week which is weighing on me as well with vacation coming up. I think 10 days away is just what the doctor ordered and I'm hoping to be a whole lot stronger once I get back:goodvibes.

Hey everyone: Disney just announced a new medal. It's the Disney's Fall Race Challenge Medal for those who run the Race For the Taste 10K and one of the other two Fall Races (Tower of Terror 13K or Expedition Everest 5K Challenge). Watch the video - or at least watch the first 20 seconds of the video.

Also, I just had a new blog posted on how our family does pin trading. Check it out if you're interested.

Sign says Danger Davey - I watched that video!! Check you OUT, dude! You're a celebrity!:worship: Autographs on ebay yet? LOVE the blog...how's the back? Soaking in hot water lately?

Sara - Wow, that sounds like a kick-a$$ vacation! You should really go to Universal, though. I think I remember it being pretty dang cool! SOooo jealous....10 days off?:thumbsup2

Mike - 7 miles RECOVERY?? Dude, you're my hero. 7 miles is like a long run to me @ this point :rotfl:. So what's up next for you, oh marathon freak :worship::worship:.

Howard - How do you feel, hop-a-long?

Chester - ARE you pursuing your music in Nashville??? Is that why you haven't posted?

Hey to all you other BOTS!:yay:

I ran 4 "speed" miles today. :headache:

Dave: nice cameo in the youtube video-- I like it :cool1: it does make me want to figure out a way to do the fall races...

Mike: Thanks for asking about Butch's foot. Fortunately he is doing better than poor Howard. He stopped running after the marathon in Jan and trained pretty much exclusively on the elliptical until the Princess 1/2. He was able to run it with no problems (other than being bummed about his speed) and has been running ok ever since.

We plan to do Broad Street this weekend. I wish I could say I have been training well and am ready but we'll just have to see how it goes.. I'll use Jodi's less is more plan. I do have to run at least kind of fast because I need to be showered, changed and in Princeton by 1pm for a work meeting (or I could just show up really sweaty, maybe the meeting would be faster if the room smelled bad...):rotfl:

So what's up next for you, oh marathon freak :worship::worship:.
Don't know... Nothing works out, schedule wise any time soon. Maybe I'll just retire.

Pretty Hollywood Dave! I hope the back starts feeling better soon.

O.K.. Someone call Tracy. I think a sweep of every bar and honky tonk in Nashville is in order to find Chester!

Jen - I wouldn't worry too much about making your meeting. Hell, Jodi would already be boarded on the plane and halfway home by then.

Man, it is going to be a big racing weekend for the BOTtalion. I can't wait to hear all about everyone's runs

Hey, everyone! Just jumping in to send my love and good WISHes to all the BOTS who are running this weekend.

Sara - Have a wonderful vacation, sweetie! I am off to Disney for a long weekend and will catch up on emails, facebook, our trip report, etc. when I get back. But I really, really hope you have an awesome trip (and I am SOOOOO jealous that you are going to a Taylor Swift concert!!!)

Hugs, all! :grouphug:

Thanks for checking in:hug:!! Have a blast at the Minnie weekend with your Minnie girls and take lots of pics to share:thumbsup2 My girls are pretty psyched about Taylor Swift and DL so I guess having to watch Mom run 26.2 in San Diego is going to be the LOW point of their trip:lmao::laughing:

Hi Everyone: OK, warning, this is an all about me post... sorry. I'm feeling very bummed. My back is killing me. It's my right, lower back, and the pain runs down into my legs - sometimes I have shooting pains in my quads. I thought it was getting better until yesterday. I got home from work, and something happened where the pain was just as bad as Sunday. I could barely walk or move and ended up lying on the floor before I eventually moved onto the couch with an ice pack. Man, I'm really bummed for Sunday. I was really looking forward to it, and I was in good shape for it. I can't believe I injured myself without even running. It really stinks. I was hurt for Philly, and I'm hurt again now. Man, I just want to be healthy for a race. OK, enough of my pity party...

ETA: OK, I did a quick google search, and I think I have back spasms. I'm going to see a doctor at 11:00am.

Dave - I'm sorry.:sad2: Glad that you are going to see a doctor.

Lou - Love the shirts and the shoes!

Lou, Jen and Butch - Good luck on Sunday!

Jodi - Ooh, Margarita 5k sounds great - is it some Cinco de Mayo themed thing? When are you headed down here?

Sara - I hope the time between now and your vacation goes by quickly for you!

Other Cindy - Hi! When are you planing on running your next marathon?

Cam - Have a great time in Disney

PrincessRunner Lisa - I'm glad that you are ok and were able to finish!

Seriously, where is Chester?

As Matt and I were discussing our upcoming race, he said, "I wish some of the Bots were going to be there." See, he misses you all even though he never posts.

I guess I'm looking forward to the half on Sunday. I'm most definitely NOT in PR shape, so I'm setting a goal of beating my time from the National Half in March.

My AP expires tomorrow:sad1: My year of Disney is officially over.

OK, I had my doctor's appointment today at 11:00a. I've torn something in my lower back that is giving me back spasms. He prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxants, and we talked for a long time about my half marathon on Sunday. He said I wouldn't do any permanent damage if I ran the half marathon, but it would set back my recovery from the injury. So I'm really trying to decide what to do right now. I'm leaning towards not running on Sunday, and trying to be fully recovered for Florida and the Muddy Buddy. I'd really like to have a nice weekend with my wife next weekend at Disney.

However, Pittsburgh was the race I've been shooting for - for a long time. This is my hometown race, and the first time they're having the marathon in 5 years. My mother in law lives 1 block off the course. We're going back to Pittsburgh regardless this weekend, and it will really stink to see everyone else running. Uuugh...

Dave~ Rest and heal the back bro. Take it from someone that HATES to be on the sidelines. You wouldn't want to run Pittsburgh unless you can lay it all on the line and do your best anyway. Feel better soon!

Hi Bots! After some soul searching and weighing some odds (boy they are heavy!) I decided to contact the Delaware Marathon/Half race director and ask for a deferral until 2010. He granted my request and is opening up my spot to someone that was ona waiting list. I think that is the nice thing to do instead of picking up my packet and not participating in the race. I will be there cheering on Craig, Martha, Judy, Charlie, Cam, Pat, Anne and others during the Marathon Relay and Half Marathon on May 17. I am looking forward to a productive fall race season and I want to be very healthy by then.

Lou~ Best of luck in that downhill race this weekend! I hope the wind will be at your backs the entire 10!

Sara~ Have a great trip out West!

Everyone enjoy your weekend activities!

:grouphug:

Howard

Dave: Sorry about your back. Good luck with your decision-- see how you feel over the next 24 hours with some meds on board and decide if you want to run "carefully" or not... you want to be able to do obstacles and all of the muddy Buddy stuff a week later and hobbling around Disney is really no fun.

Howard: I think you made a very wise and generous decision. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the cheering support.

Aw man, Dave, I feel so bad about your situation. It was so important for you to get into Pitts. & when that almost didn't happen I felt bad. Then you got in & now this! Sheesh! I look @ it this way; at least this isn't a long distance trip that you bought airline tickets for on the west coast & now you're in pain & can't run. It's sorta close & you can go visit your MIL anyway. Soak in a hot tub, lay on the floor & see how you feel Sun. a.m. I say concentrate on getting better for the MB. When my back has gone out on me before I really find that one complete day of rest laying on my back on the floor really does the job.

Howard - Dave's gotta get to where you are & be OK with not running. I'm so glad you're defering 'til next year & giving someone else a shot at running that day. Please take pictures of yourself dressed up as a balloon Bot :cutie: cheering everyone on.

Jen - I think that "no training" plan will do you just fine on Sunday ;). Good luck to you & Butch!! I'll be waiting for that race report.

Lou - Hoping that you're finally out of line & got your bib :rotfl2: Got your sparky gear all ready to go??? Don't forget to schmooze afterward & get some clients!

Cindy -I wanna go to that 80s night moviethon! I forgot you were running a 1/2 on Sunday! Too fun. Tell Matt to get his butt on here so we can abuse him verbally!

Mike - OK, so when can YOU do a mega-relay???

CAm - Have fun without me in Disney....:guilty:although I don't know how that would be possible.

Chester - Is your Island thingie this weekend???

Took a day off today because I'm a little beat after that speedwork yesterday (some stuff hurts).:headache: I suck.

1. I'm free next weekend. Whatcha got?

2. A day off after speedwork is not sucky. It's smart.

Howard - Smart decision and good that you could defer.

Dave - That really stinks that your back is still bugging you. I hope it all works out this weekend.

Cindy - I hope you and Matt enjoy yourselves. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic, considering Frederick was my first full, just 2 short years ago.

Cam - Have fun!

Did you all see the great Nashville pictures on FB?:dance3:

Too funny, wasn't that a hilarious story?:lmao::rotfl:

Really glad I read Matt's amazing ironman report and see all his China pics on FB!:thumbsup2

I hope the Minnie girls have fun this weekend!:cheer2::dance3::banana:

Jodi I see you are still not feeling well. Get better.

Sara, love all your pics!:thumbsup2

Did you all see Lynnda's photos of her boys, arn't they adorable??:cloud9:

Jodi, it was great talking to you last night ..on FB.:surfweb:

Oh, I guess most of you already know all this, EXCEPT Mike!:rolleyes1

I'm off to Frederick in a few. Looks like it is going to rain the whole time. Although I don't think it could be any wetter than the half Mike and I ran last April where I first broke 2 hours, so I'm sure I'll survive and maybe even have a good race.:rotfl:
