OK, guys, I'll try to be brief with my trip report
Thurs. 12 - Flew into Tampa, drove down to mom's in Sarasota. Stopped by
Chester's house on the way - around dinner time, but no one answered the door
Friday 13 - drove around the area w/ mom, step-dad & family, went to some local beaches/trolled for sand dollars - great day.
Sat. - Drove up to Port Canaveral & got on cruise...commenced feeding frenzy!
The first 2 days were @ sea & were beautfiul - at least 75 degrees & sun, sun, sun. At our first nights dinner we discovered our table mates were a DISer family from a thread here that I've been on for a while over on the "cruise" board. What a cowinky-dink! Very nice people (we felt bad they were stuck with us!

)
On Tues. we arrived @ St. Martin (Maarten, whatever). No excursion so we just walked to town. It was really neat, but i was quite upset @ the number of homeless dogs wandering the streets. One almost got hit by a bus right in front of us, until yours truly jumped out in the street first. I figured he'd see me if he didn't see the dog

. With so much walking we got real hot & pulled up a beach & went swimming. Great day (or 1/2 day, anyway)
On Weds. it was St. Thomas where we booked a snorkeling excursion. We got to swim w/ giant sea turtles & see a ship wreck - I actually got seasick IN the water, that's how choppy it was. Very windy day, but warm.
Weds. night was hideous on the ship...rockin' rollin', moving around like crazy! Both Bruce & I were lightheaded & nauseated. They were handing out barf bags @ the show that night. We turned in early (hurling smilie here) - no actualy hurling, but it was heinous!
More of the same motion on Thurs., but we'd gotten a bit used to it by then. Great day @ sea, warm.
Friday - we almost didn't get into
Castaway Cay b/c of the winds & current & such. The Capt. gave it a few trys & was able to make it, however, all excursions, except jet ski & snorkeling, were canceled. Sort of a windy day, but warm. I ran in a 5k that met in the a.m. right after we docked which was a blast. That night they delivered a certificate to our room stating that I'd ran in the Castaway Cay 5k, blah, blah, blah. Great souvenir, but they spelled me like this: JODY. Oh well, people right here on this thread have done that so I guess I can't begrudged actual strangers for the mistake

! I also managed to run 3 other times on the ship on deck 4; just 30 minute jaunts, so that SHOULD be about 3 miles each time, but at this point in my running hiatus, who knows?
Colleen: Our Cat.11, inside stateroom was a tomb, but it's all we've sailed in, so ignorance is bliss.
The food was good to very good. I mean, we're not talking gourmet meals, here, but definitely a higher-end, mass-food quality.
The Magic is showing some signs of wearing down, but it was impeccable. I mean, honestly, our stateroom was incredibly clean, as were all public areas. The reason why I say it was worn a bit is you could see certain carpets in the main hallways stained & perhaps caulking in the tubs getting ready for a re-do. But all in all, there was nothing to complain about, although people did, I'm sure!
We had a terrific time, but then again, we're not that hard to please.
