~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Can't say I am rooting for anyone in this Super Bowl. It's hard not to want to see the Cardinals win (sorry Dave and Howard).

Howard - Cam's office sounds like a much better hang then my hiding place (lobby of the Wyndham Hotel). We'll have to figure out a place to meet up before the race.

Lou

Some friend you are.. just when I needed you most. GO STEELERS!!! Don't look for my support for the Eagles anytime soon. As far as the Caesar Rodney Half, feel free to come here and we can drive down together. I can park in Cam's parking garage and get into her building for restrooms an heat.

Mike~ Last fall while training for the MCM, I found a $20 bill near the high school. Not too bad.

Oh yeah! GO STEELERS!!!

Kathy and I are a definite go for CMM in Nashville in April. I'm looking forward to it.
Mike
That does it. I'm definitely in for CCM now. Maybe I can convince Tracy to enter since they have a 4 hour time limit for the half.

I officially have a new race to train for, we managed to talk ourselves into a grown-up weekend get away for the Princess 1/2, sure it will be a ladies tech shirt, but Butch is man enough to deal with it...
Jen
Butch may be man enough to deal with it, but I'm not. Although, I did run the Minnie last year since it was the last year and I wanted a Minnie medal. I am however planning on heading over to "Scream Team" for all the girls and Butch.

Happy training to all,

Chester

Hey Everyone: Whoo hoo, the Steelers won the Super Bowl. :cool1: The family and I had a fun day watching the game yesterday. I made a bunch of Pittsburgh food that I remember from growing up there. We had kielbasa, pierogies, and klondike bars for dessert. I even found Penn Pilsner beer from the Penn Brewery where my wife and I used to go before we were married. We even had the band from the Penn Brewery play at our wedding.

Not much for me to report. I did get outside to run yesterday. It was not that cold, and I did 6 miles. However, coming back was 3 miles into a wicked headwind. That really tired me out.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Howard- Did you hear Pittsburgh schools were on a 2 hour delay today because the kids were all up late to watch the game?

Dave & Howard - Congrats to your Steelers. I fell asleep on the couch with about 5:00 left and the Steelers up 20-14. I wake up a few minutes later and it's 23-20 Cards. I was like, "you have to be kidding me". I had to rewind the DVR to see what happened. By the time I got back to live action the Steelers were inside the 10 and I saw the winning TD. You guys must have been going nuts!

So, who's going to Nashville (Mike, Jodi, Colleen, Chester?)? Anyone else? Are you guys doing the full?

No running today. Still reeling from my humiliation by the Rowan x-country team. I want a rematch.

Lou

Dave - Pretty cool that you were able to make an event out of the game. It was a great game no matter what side you were on (although I'm sure Cardinal fans are heartbroken right about now). Gotta love the 2 hour school delay. Maybe it was more for the teachers that had a little too much Iron City.

You had a brewery band play at your wedding? Cool!

So, who's going to Nashville (Mike, Jodi, Colleen, Chester?)? Anyone else? Are you guys doing the full?
Lou - Full for me. Kathy is doing the half.

Chester - Come on! You'd look absolutely delicious with that fancy tiara medal!

Don't tell anyone, but I actually did some cross training today. I'm thinking I need to routinely add some weights and non-running cardio if I want to elevate my game a bit. We'll see how long that lasts.

So, who's going to Nashville (Mike, Jodi, Colleen, Chester?)? Anyone else? Are you guys doing the full?
Lou
I'm doing the Full. I'm going to try and convince Tracy to do the Half. Went and booked air fare today on Southwest.

Mike
I'd only look delicious if I was sporting your pajama bottoms at the same time.:rotfl2:

I've got 4 miles scheduled for tonight.

I'm considering the CMM 1/2 :thumbsup2 Booked a room at the Hampton Inn and will have a Rapid Reward ticket by then so it's a better than not chance at this point.

Chester - Tell Tracy I'll walk the 1/2 with her if she decides to do it::yes::

Jodi - Have an awesome time on the cruise:cool1:

To everyone else - :grouphug:

Good afternoon everyone from snowy NJ.

Chester: thanks for coming up to cheer for the Princess 1/2-- I don't think I could get Butch to wear the shirt, but I'm pretty sure he will sport the medal in the park later that day. Is Tacy coming with you-- will she run?

Dave: congrats to the Steelers, I'm glad you had a nice party around the game, did the new kitty cheer too?

I managed 8 miles yesterday and a good pace for me. I'm taking it easy today and watching the snowflakes-- lots of snow falling but little actual accumulation.

Hello from snowy (again) CT, BOTS!

I ran yesterday & Sunday.

Ran Sunday. 10 miles early in the morning when temps were still in the high 20s/low 30s. Too bad that I missed out on running in the nice weather later in the day.

Haven't run since. Won't run tomorrow because I need to be up early for work.

I don't think Matt and I are going to be able to do CMM. It would be difficult for me to get the time off of work and Matt is not motivated to train for a marathon (and I'm not even really motivated to train for a half).

I'll try to catch up later in the week - I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi BOTS!!! :smokin: I just wanted to post an update. I see the Podiatrist next Tuesday. I am diligently icing every night before bed, wearing my compression bandage and taking my medicines like a good little BOT should. ::yes:: Other than when I rub the foot down with the ice, I haven't been feeling any pain or discomfort at all. I guess that is a good thing. I haven't been to the gym since last week, so I am overdue now.

I hope everyone that is planning the CMM has a wonderful time. :wave2: At this point I have NO vacation available to me due to my recent trip and honeymoon.

My plan is to heal, get to the gym regularly and to train for the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon in March. I have some related weight goals which I'll share later. I have gained a considerable amount of the 20 I lost these past weeks while I have been hobbling around like a gimp. :sad2: I know I can drop the weight again once I get clearance from the doc.

I finally updated my Running Log (post computer crash) and have determined the following information, since June 27, 2001 I've completed the following races:

40 = 5K's
5 = 5 Milers
1 = 13K
3 = 15K's
7 = Half Marathons
6 = Marathons

That translates to 433.9 miles of racing!

:grouphug:

Howard

Wow! It's like the wayward Bots have returned. Jen, Sara, and Cindy all posting on the same day. Now if we could only get Chick Pea Steve back on board.

Jen - I'm happy you had a good run. I think of you every time I'm relegated to the TM and my circa 1981 19" TV that my parents bought at K-Mart.

Howard - That's a darn impressive list of races. I suppose someday I'll have to try a 5K or 10K. It's good to see you being a good boy and following doctor's orders. Say :wave2: to Cam.

Cindy - Bummer that you and Matt aren't going Country. So where does the joint lack of motivation leave you for the National?

Did Matt give up on this whole posting thing?

Sara - Yippee if you come to CMM!

Chester - I've still got a pair of those pants if you're interested.

Jodi - What the hell? Are you training for a race or something or just trying to buff up for the cruise? I don't remember you running this much for Philly. Or MCM. Or your ultra. Or Goofy.

I keep forgetting to ask; did you see Mr. ChiChi at the WDW expo?

I normally run while DD12 is at dance on Tuesdays but tonight was "Watch Day" so I got to see her fancy footwork instead. So, it was downstairs to the TM and my bluelight special TV for the scheduled speedwork. I only got 4 of the 6 scheduled miles in before I had to get ready for work but I did complete the "speed" part of the program.

Watch day tomorrow for DD's 5 or 8 too so I'm not sure about getting any miles in.

Take care all!

Good Morning Everyone,

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I've just recently caught up reading this thread.

Howard & Cam: Congrats on your vow renewal. The pictures were gorgeous. Good luck with the foot Howard. I have no doubt you'll slim down once again when you can run again. I'm extremely jealous of how easy it seems for you. That is a very impressive list of races.

Mike: Good job getting your workout done on the TM. I've only recently started watching movies on my laptop while on the TM. What a huge difference it has made. I watched Spirit of the Marathon while doing a 16 mile LR. It was great inspiration. Glad you found some $$ while running - how lucky. My friend has seen 2 dead bodies while running (well, one was dead, the other merely having a heart attack). I'm glad I've never seen that.

Cindy: Sorry you're not feeling the inspiration to run right now. Just stick with it and it will come back. I'm envious just thinking that you'll have cherry blossoms by March. I'm pretty sure it will be June before anything is blooming around here.

Jen: Congratulations on finishing the marathon while having a cold. That is real determination. I'm glad you enjoyed the snow yesterday. Have fun at the Princess Half, if nothing else it will be warmer and you'll get a nice new medal.

Jodi: Sorry the relay won't work out for this year. If ever you try it again, keep me in mind. It sounds like so much fun. I'm trying to talk my husband into joining me on a team for a Relay for Life in June. He was incredulous that it was for 24 hours. I had to explain that he didn't have to be on the track for the entire 24 hours, but he's still not ready to sign up.

Good luck to all of you signing up for CMM. Seems like a lot of WISHers are going. Always more fun with lots of WISH teammates.

I've finished my last LR before my race on 2/22 and have begun the taper. I finally got to run outside which was nice. The majority of my runs have been on the TM this winter. I did tweak my knee part way thru by slipping on some ice. It hurt off and on for the last 9 miles. I'm going to baby it for a few days. My pace was about 10 seconds per mile faster than my last LR before my Fall marathon, so I'm thinking I'm in decent shape. We shall see in 3 weeks. Just hoping it's not a windy day, but since the race is along the ocean I'm not too sure of that.

Have a great day everyone,
Cindy

Chester - Tell Tracy I'll walk the 1/2 with her if she decides to do it::yes::

Sara
After I told Tracy of your offer, she asked me to sign her up. Just don't feel obligated to walk with her because she will probably be walking at an 18 mpm pace.

Chester: thanks for coming up to cheer for the Princess 1/2-- I don't think I could get Butch to wear the shirt, but I'm pretty sure he will sport the medal in the park later that day. Is Tracy coming with you-- will she run?

Jen
Tracy has to work that weekend. If not, then she would probably give it a try and I would also enter myself. So, I'll just come over and Scream Team by myself unless I run into some other W.I.S.H.er's that aren't running.

Got the 4 in last night. Tonight is supposed to be 7, but it is also supposed to freeze tonight so I might blow it off.

Got to go eat lunch,

Chester

Hi everyone! Nothing too exciting to report. I made it to the gym tonight and managed 8.44 miles on the Expresso bike. I did a 4 mile challenging route and finished over 11 minutes before the Pacer. The second wasn't as challenging (4.44 miles), but I pushed it and finished over 4 minutes ahead of the Pacer. No pain or issues with the PF to report... that is a good sign. When I got off the bike my quads felt like iron.

CindyLou~ Thank you for the nice comments about the VR and the photos. We had such a great time! I am also chuckling about me dropping the weight when I can get back to running. It isn't easy... I have to starve, dehydrate myself and run 30 miles a week to do it. I didn't say it wasn't worth it. ;)

Dave~ I'm glad our Steelers won #6! Woo HOO! I'll check out the links above and contact you if I am interested.

:grouphug:

Howard

Howard - Expresso bike? Do you have to pedal real fast to steam the milk?

I think you need to challenge a new pacer. The one you've got is a wuss if you're beating him by 11 minutes over 4 miles! Either that or you're ready for the the Tour de France. Maybe Lance needs a teammate.

CindyLou2 - It's nice to see you post here. Shine up your best smart a$$ attitude and make yourself a permanent fixture here.

I'm really pulling for you to BQ. It sounds like you are more than ready. Baby that knee for a few days.

It's also great to see you're doing Goofy again next year. I look forward to you blowing by me on the walkway from Hollywood Studios again.

Nothing of note to report for me. I am feeling the after effects of my Monday XT session. My upper body pretty much feels like I was rolled down a hill in a metal tub. Luckily, my hair is short enough that I don't have to comb it. I'm not sure I could lift my arms that high.

Good luck in Hyannis Cindy. I know you were so close to BQ last year. I'm pulling for you. You go girl.

Hi guys,

I will make this quick.

I have been swamped this week, both kids sick AGAIN! We are also hosting a huge swim meet this weekend, over 300 swimmers are coming and I am in charge of concession and volunteers.:) :faint:

It is getting done and everything will be order, but people are 'funny' when it comes to volunteering, nuff said!:coffee:  :crazy2: ::yes:: :badpc: :crowded: :scratchin :cool1: :smokin: :hyper: :sad1: :) (I wasn't sure which emoticon to use because I have had ALL these feelings this week.)

Congrats to everyone on their decision to run CMM. I am not there yet, can't wrap my head around it, maybe after swim is over in March and the kids are back into a routine.

Off to recite spelling words to DD9.:thumbsup2

Hey Bots!

Cindy#2-I'm sorry that the relay won't be happening either!! You can thank the other boneheads on this thread for that!!:snooty: Good luck qualifying in Hyannis!! Let us know how it goes, kay?

Dave - I'll let you know about the charity thingie, I may be doing my own charity next year (and for other runs to come).

Mike - No, I didn't get to see Chichi in WDW :sad2: . THis is the 3rd time I've missed him. I may, however, be doing a clinic with him in NYC in March!:cool1: . Heck, somebody's got to teach me how to run faster!!

Howard - What's up with the expresso bike thing?:confused3 Glad your foot is healing.

Sara - :wave2: What up, troll? I heard you were in Disney World, though I never actually did see you!;) .

Colleen - What's up chicky-poo? Did you ride the immigration-wave back to your country because of our failing economy??:wave2: BYE.

Chester - Wave when we go by your exit? Heck, we were gonna stop in for dinner. Just think of us as 5 more cats!

I been thinkin' about this CMM thing; I just don't know if I'll be able to swing it or not...If I did, it'd definitely be an overnighter type deal, solo as well :scratchin . I may run a local 1/2 in the beginning of April to try & break that under-2-hour exodus I seek. We'll see.
