~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Shouldn't Mikey and Kathy be home?:confused3

They must be still trying to take the bubble wrap off the grandparents.

:lmao:

Nah, I just think they've had their fill of us for a while...I mean you guys, not ME.

These were some of the races we talked about over the weekend:

1. Baltimore Oct. 10, 2009
2. Nashville April 25, 2009
3. Pittsburgh May 3, 2009
4. Kiawah Island, SC Dec. 12, 2009
5. Virginia Beach Half Sept. 6, 2009

I think there was at least one more, can't remember it/them.:confused3

Baltimore is a real possibility for me. If I don't get into NYC I could see running that race. Could even run both.

I have a friend in Nashville and would love to run there but don't want to run a marathon in the Spring.

VA Beach is a possibility because you get a special medal if you run the PDR and VA Beach. However, it's hot as #%$^ in VA Beach on Labor Day.

SC looks good but expect I'll have a problem with Christmas being so close.

So basically you can't run any of them....:sad2:
Forget it, let's just meet in Disney next year!!:yay:

Man, you figured it out. I was just trying to come up with a nice way of saying I'm too busy and really don't want to hang out with you guys. :lmao:

I do like your NY relay race. Can we find a bus/van that I can slap a BOT man logo on by May? You gotta find a cool bus/van with lots of ventilation. Kind of like the Partridge Family mobile or a Scooby Doo ghost mobile.

Hey Bitty-Bots,

We are home. :sad2:

We had a great weekend. It was lots of fun and we really enjoyed seeing everyone (even Jodi) again.

No proper race report for the moment. I just wanted to throw a few quick comments out for now.

Matt - Welcome to the posting dark side! Gotta love a guy that admits a major motivating factor is beating his wife. Still walking like a cowboy?

Cindy
- Did you go to AK Monday? You should have taken us up on the offer to eat lunch at the Biergarten. You would have been witness to an eating/drinking exhibition not soon to be forgotten!

It was great having lunch with you two on Sunday. I have to say, that was the probably the best meal I've had in a VERY long time.

Dave - Nice pictures. Just go easy. We only have 223 pages to go before they shut us down.

And FYI, I think Amphipod makes a fuel belt that carries a whole case of gels so you should be good for your next full. Of course, Jodi may have to rent a U-Haul trailer if you agree to do one of her relays.

Jen - Sorry you had a tough time with your race but it's great to hear you're ready to tackle it again.

Lou - Goofy! Goofy! Goofy! Less about time, more about strategy. I wasn't to the point where I could completely let go and have it be all about fun yet. Maybe next year.

Chester - It was great getting to spend time with you and Tracy.

Sara
- It's great that you got to spend time with so many friends out on the course. I hope your feet are healing.

Jodi - Your mom is 72!??!! Holy Crap! She looks great. It was great meeting her and your bro after the race. Even better to find out that you randomly blow them off too! I thought it was just us!

And if you could ever stop pooping your pants you would BQ!!!

Speaking of BQ'ing... Colleen - It was so great to meet Jeff. He has a lot of great ideas and it was really good to get to talk with him. Tell him all the girls think he's dreamy and maybe he'll start posting.

I forgot to tell you this Sunday night. Rembember Angela that came to PI with you last year? Kathy and I saw her as we were cheering everyone on at Beach Club. She was decked out in full WISH garb. We ran into her again in Epcot on Monday. She said to say Hi.

BTW, yes Colleen. You are the social director.

Howard - It was great running the half with you Saturday. That's by far the most I've ever run with anyone and it was a lot of fun.

I hope you and Cam are enjoying the rest of your week. Everything we saw was SO FABULOUS!! But I bet you two are going to sleep for a solid week to catch up.

Cindylou - Thanks for the well wishes before we left. Sure you can do WDW every year!

Anne - So nice to see you again this weekend. Kathy said you were pretty hard-core protecting your Scream-Teaming turf. Thanks so much for being so supportive for everyone.

Any other Lurkers? Make yourselves known so that you can be properly addressed.

As for me - Again, the weekend was a great time. We got to spend lots of time with many friends I really appreciate the people we've got to know over the couple of years of doing this stuff.

Kathy and I got to enjoy each other's company (well, at least I enjoyed it) and just cruised around the parks together for a couple of days. Very nice.

The races went pretty well for us both. Kathy PR'd inspite of her messed up ankle and was very pleased.

I was shooting for a relaxed half and a sub-4 full. Howard made me run harder than I had planned for the half but it was well worth it and I still managed to finish the full in 3:59:42. 18 seconds to spare. No problem.

I'm feeling pretty good today and may even go for a little run tonight if I can muster the courage to brave the cold.

O.K., gotta go for now.

Hi Mike, welcome home!:wave2:

Pictures are up, must go check them out, I'll be back later.

HOLY CRAP!!! THAT IS THE BIGGEST BEER IN THE FRIGGIN' WORLD!!

DON'T EVEN TELL ME THAT'S AN OPTIMATOR, BRUCE WILL FREAK!!

He grew up in Germany & has bugged me in the past to make reservations @ this restaurant. If I show him this beer, all bets are off :rotfl: !!

LISTEN UP, GUYS, I NEED BOT-ASSISTANCE!!!!

I looked on the results board for the 1/2, then saw that there was a "Military Results" option. I went on & discovered that you can designate yourself as part of the Armed Forces & be "labeled" as such when it comes to results time.

Well, I looked @ the stats & found out that the first Marine came in @ #16 :scared1: I immediately called The Cloud & let him know about this travesty!:rotfl2: I told him that even the Coast Guard had a finisher before a Marine!!!

He's all fired up now, but knows what I'm trying to do here...I think with a little bit of persuasion (aka smack-talk) from you guys I may be able to talk him into running the Disney 1/2 next year. That, plus the picture of Mike's BEER, how could he resist??? Even though the race is in Disney :rotfl2:

Optimator all the way Sista!!

Tell the Cloud that I say there is no way he could even attempt to run the half next year. Distance running is for those of us with intestinal fortitude, determination, and courage to battle ourselves for that amount of time.

We don't have to hide behind bulging muscles trying to overcompensate for our obvious lack of strength.

Plus, the porta-pots are quite poorly lit at the start and we don't want him to:
A. Be afraid of the dark.
B. Have trouble finding wee willy winky and dribble in his pants.

How's that?

Oh, and tell him Matt said all of that :thumbsup2 .

I told him that even the Coast Guard had a finisher before a Marine!!!

What?? Is this an anomaly? :confused3

I thought most Coast Guardians are faster, way hotter, have superior intelligent and a higher mental fortitude than Marines.popcorn::

Jodi - You jumped my post to Bruce. Be sure to go back a couple.

Oh....I didn't see it. I DID see one from Matt, though, that will get The Cloud pretty well pissed :thumbsup2 .

You guys ain't seen nothin' 'til you've seen the vein in the middle of his forehead bulge out.

Matt, you're a brave guy...thanks for taking one for the cause!!

I'd like to run the Disneyland Half too, and I'd like to do the Expedition Everest Challenge again. That was fun!

Mike that is a mighty tasty looking beer you've got there. I bet that even Cindy couldn't finish off two of them. Also who is the cloud? He sounds like a wuss!

Oh and I just found out about this smiley

Hey BOT Squad!

It was great to see everyone again. Tracy, Chet and I had a great weekend. I'm still working my way through posts I haven't read since last Wednesday.

I came back to more layoffs at work. We are down to just 18 now. Someone throw me a life preserver.

So in the face of impending disaster, I signed myself and Chet up for 2010 Goofy.

I hope to put together a race report soon. Heck, I may be able to put together a race report novel with all the time I'll have on my hands.

Chester
