The "Boo to Us" Weight Loss Challenge

I did pretty well yesterday, had an entree salad with grilled chicken at Nordstrom Cafe for lunch, and an entree salad with steak at home for dinner :lmao: I am over salad! I had my WW breakfast sandwich and milk this morning, and I am about to start snacking on my fruit loops. They are a good snack because I am not really hungry, but they are sweet and make me happy :goodvibes. I am having a peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch, we got this stuff called Better than Peanut butter which has 1/2 the calories. We also got some Pirates Booty in individual bags (in the Halloween section at Target!) and it only has 65 calories, so I will be having that as my afternoon snack. Today is Wednesday which means our friend is making us dinner and her idea of healthy doesn't always equal our idea of healthy, so I will just have to moniter portion size! I want to walk tonight, but I doubt I will since I have a hair appointment at 4:30, then dinner, and early to bed since I barely slept last night! Luckily this beautiful weather seems to be holding, so being outside is nice these days!

How was the Disneyland event? Did you stick to plan?

Well, it's hard to be truly good when you are eating where I did! I ate lots of salad, a few of the grilled veggies, my one each of lobster, shrimp and crab claw. A *small* cup of the soup, a little bread and I did have a glass each of white and red wine. Here's where I blew it! They have pasta three by three and with how I have been avoiding carbs, it sounded soooooooo good. Can you believe Spaghetti and Meatballs? We didn't even get the truffled Mac n Cheese! :rotfl2:

I also had Mushroom Ravioli and Goat Cheese and Pesto Campaneille. Fran got the Lamb Chops with Polenta and gave me one of those too. I couldn't even finish half the pasta, but it was all so good. We took it to go, but ended up spending so much time in the parks that I'm sure it went bad.

I probably waaaaay blew it on dessert. Chocolate Martini **HAD to**, and I ate a silver dollar sized portion of Creme Brulee, this s'more thing that was wonderful and a mini cupcake!

The good thing was that I did do a fair amount of walking later that day. We didn't eat again until 10PM when we were finally starving, and then we had some appetizers at the Trader Sam's bar. Of course I had a couple drinks there too, so in booze alone I blew the calories! :rotfl2:

yesterday I was back to Yogurt for breakfast. I had a couple slices of Tri Tip for lunch. Watermelon for a snack. We had to go to band and wasted our time running around so we ended up at the drive thru. I got a quarter pounder with cheese and gave the last quarter to Fran, she ordered fries and I ate some. Of course she forgot to order my side salad. :headache:

I didn't snack at all once we got home, but I did have a glass of wine (probably considered two servings).

So far today I haven't had anything, but we're driving up to Tulare again. I need to get off the DIS make some coffee and unload/load the dishwasher. I'm all packed, just waiting for the car to get back from it's estimate (damages last week) and a new tire (or set thereof).

Tootles! We'll see how I do eating on the road :faint:

How did dinner with your friend go, STeph?

Alison - you're just making me envious! And that's without the truffled Mac and Cheese!

I went out to dinner last night, work celebration. I'm still in a food coma and this is after 24 hours. Food today was really light.

Breakfast was....2 cups of coffee. I couldn't face food first thing in the morning; so I got 2 coffees instead.

Lunch was a soup of tomato, red pepper and shreded chicken; with a piece of bread.

Afternoon tea was a tim tam biscuit.

Dinner was baked jacket potato, cole slaw, cheese, baked beans and avocado.

Don't feel like having anything sweet tonight with my tea.

I still feel completely full!

Oh....and I think I promised pictures from dinner the other night.

This is the fish parcel, with the dory fillets...

....how it turned out.

And I served it with this as one of the sides. Snow peas, cherry tomatoes in a sweet chilli dressing.

The veggies look yummy! I am not a fish person, but it at least looks artfully done!

Dinner was of course delicious the other night, our friend made "Poor Man's Paiaya" (no idea if the spelling is right) but basically no fish in it. It was tasty but I ate smaller portions. She also brough a salad and dinner rolls. I really wanted a second dinner roll, but stopped myself, (I love my carbs!). She also made a cake that was yummy, and I had one piece, but it wasn't huge.

Last night was book club, and the same woman did the cooking. She made meatballs, buffalo chicken dip, savory cheesecake, carmel espresso bars and lemon bars. All delicious. I ate light all day knowing I'd be eating yummy stuff at night.

Today I have had 2 cups of coffee, a glass of milk, and my trusty WW breakfast sandwich. For lunch I have a hard boiled egg, edamame, pirates booty and fruit loops for a snack. I think we are having rotisserie chicken for dinner, as we have lots of work still to do for our yard sale Saturday.

I still haven't gotten in a walk. I really need to ramp up the exercise. I haven't weighed myself, but I am relatively certain there hasn't been much loss, if any. Next week exercise is going to be my focus. It should be calmer after Sunday, so it should be easier.

Its a yeah day! I lost 3 more pounds. It has been a tough battle. For me I have to give up alot of things I enjoy, bread, potatos. I have given up alot of sugar. Okay I had some of that chocolate cheese cake. But I still lost. I guess cleaning that house did some good. Lets hang in there, we can do this. When the cravings come time to start dissing more and let time fly by.

Checking in today.

Food wise, I think I didn't do too badly.

Breakfast was two slices of toast, with honey. And 1/4 punnet of strawberries with 1 tablespoon of yoghurt. I'm guessing close on 6 points for breakfast.

I made nachos for my DS' lunch today. My lunch was about 10 cornchips/cheese off his plate. I suspect I did about 4 points for lunch.

Afternoon tea was 1 tim tam biscuit, 2 or 3 points.

Dinner was spaghetti carbonara. I'm guessing about 6 points.

I've also just had a grapefruit, 1 point, and will have a hot tea later. Don't have any cravings for a sweet something! :cool1:

Awesome!!! Great job :yay:

I ended up eating way less than intended yesterday, work was so busy I never got around to eating my lunch, and we had a rotisserie chicken a mashed potatoes for dinner, but there wasn't a ton of food for the 5 of us, and since we were so busy getting ready for the yard sale, we didn't bother eating anything else! So far today I have had a donut (my boss brought them in) and a cup of coffee. It occurs to me I have no clue what we are doing for dinner tonight...

So I haven't posted here for a while, been busy! Plus I've been trying to wrap up my TR from the Expo three weeks ago!

Yesterday we saw our Doctor, and I still haven't really lost much of anything. Basically she told me to stop eating carbs, fruit, and dairy! :scared1:

Basically I'm supposed to make all my meals out of meat and vegetables. I can have eggs, fish and other proteins, but no peanut butter. She says it's too high in fat. :sad2: There goes the peanut butter and celery snack!

Yesterday I had a yogurt for breakfast, a chicken thigh and a wing, plus a side salad for lunch. Then for dinner I had a steak salad.

I'm about to go out to Sears and pick up our new scale.

Today I've only had about 500 calories, so let's hope that somehow, the weight begins to slip off! :rotfl2:

Two weeks since the last time I stepped on the scales. I worked out my scales aren't sensitive enough .

It looks like I've lost a little bit of weight; can't be sure but the needle sure looks like its about 0.5 kilos (about 1 lb) less than 2 weeks ago (and if I were being overly generous, I would even call it closer to 1 kilo less but I won't). I'll take that as a win!

Been real good with food; and snacks. So, here's to the next fortnight.

Glad to hear you've had some progress PIO!

I'm not holding out much hope out for me. While I have for the most part been following the Doctor's orders as much as possible, tonight it wasn't possible. I had to go to a board meeting for our band. I'm not on the board and I don't think I will be for a while (if ever again). However, as band manager I am obligated to attend meetings (unless I want to be useless and not know what is going on).

The two guys hosting the board meeting always make a big production out of meals and turn them into lavish (or so they think) dinner parties. They took a vacation in Italy last summer (well tacked a vacation on to a business trip (who does that?)) and while they were there did a cooking class in Tuscany. So they made us some stuff they learned in the class. The first course was Bruscetta, which if it's authentic, I didn't really care for it. The main thing was it was full of bread. But they made a tomato sauce and poured it over the bread. I like my bruscetta California style with the tomatoes raw.

Now granted the guy made the bread himself, but I think I don't like tuscan bread. Then they gave us a broccoli, cauliflower and carrot flan on a slice of pancetta over a bed of spinach and on a parmesan crisp. This was pretty good, but there was too much for me. I can only take so much of egg disnes and I don't like cauliflower. I did eat all the parmesan crisp, but they didn't make that.

The main was chicken scallopini and noodles which was pretty good, but since I'm not supposed to eat noodles I didnt' take too many and to my taste they were undercooked. Then they served us Tiramisu. The Chicken and Tiramisu were probably the best things we had tonight. But all the bread, noodles and dessert were so far outside my eating capacity I'm assuming that I've had no weight loss and probably weight gain.

We got a new scale yesterday which isn't going to help anything, but I can now get accurate weights at home. I hope that something happens soon. I have been trying to eat better. Ugh!

Are these the same guys that up'ped the ante on the food budget (you only ever mentioned one man before)...in any case.....

How much food was leftover?
If I recall correctly, whenever you cook, there are always EMPTY platters left behind. :thumbsup2

So...what did you end up doing for dinner? :hyper:

It was bad, we had pasta from this place my mom remembers fondly from her childhood, Italian Gardens to Go. It was penne with meat sauce, iceberg lettuce (salad) and garlic bread (which was mostly bread with a really oily/crunchy layer of butter on top). I didn't eat a ton which is the upside to bad food.

I am not getting on the scale often enough. I weighed myself in middle of dinner last night (Jack had to go potty, so I had time to kill) and that definitely helped curb my appetite :lmao: Our friend who has been in Afghanistan for 5 months is home for a visit so we had steak, twice baled potaotes, caesar salad, bread, and a wonderful dessert (called a giant cream puff, basically a cream puff cake). I was so busy trying to get Jack to calm down (he was wild yesterday!) that I never got around to putting steak on my plate and then I weighed myself and decided against it :lmao:

I have had canteloupe and milk for breakfast, and I am trying to talk Jack into a long walk today, but only halfheartedly because it's supposed to be 85 today, so I'd rather wait till tonight anyways. Plus I have LOADS of laundry to do, no pun intended :laundy:

Yeah, it was the one who upped the ante on the food budget for band lunches. He got a boyfriend a little over a year ago. I didn't see what was leftover because they plated everything but the main in the kitchen on individual plates.

So, were the individual plates all empty or did people leave food behind??
