We've experienced almost every part of Disney World (from the Theme Parks to DTD to various Disney Resorts); however, we (my fiancee and I) have never been to "The Boardwalk" area near the Epcot Resorts.

If you're not staying at one of the Epcot Resorts, is it worth a trip to this area? What types of things are there to do here?

Thanks for the help!

The Boardwalk is one of our favorite places in all of Disney World. We always spend an evening there during our trips. We really enjoy just walking around the Boardwalk, watching the strolling entertainers, eating dinner at Flying Fish or Spoodles, shopping, and spending some time at Jelly Rolls. Our favorite thing to do is to head over to Fantasia Gardens for some miniature golf in the late afternoon and then walk over to the Boardwalk for the evening. We usually drive over or take a cab (on our trips where we don't have a car) because transportation to and from the other resorts is a bit of a hassle. However, you could easily walk over or take the boat from MGM or Epcot. We've always enjoyed the Boardwalk, and this month we are finally going to try actually staying there! I can't wait!

We spent 10 glorious days at the Boardwalk Inn in early November, and loved it.

The hotel is a real charmer -- take some time to stroll through the lobby and see the authentic Coney Island antiques! -- and the shops and restaurants are very appealing. (If you are so inclined, wander over to the Disney Vacation Club office, right on the Boardwalk. We did and became members!)

The area is very close to MGM and Epcot -- a 10 minute walk will take you to either park, or you can take a leisurely boat ride.

The place really comes alive at night, with strolling musicians, magicians, face-painters and the like. Very festive and fun.

Enjoy!

We make sure we spend at least 1 night at the Boardwalk in our trips to WDW.;)

I LOVE it at night. (The daytime seems pretty quiet). But I think the entire atmosphere is just fantastic in the evening.
