Yes you can hear the music during Illuminations from the balcony but it is not very loud. You can see all the high fireworks but not the low laser show and fireworks.

We had room 5290 and this was a great room with a view of the gardens below and Epcots fireworks....

I just booked a water view at BWI for Oct 13 to 17. Got the special e-mail rate of $270 plus tax. Standard was $199. I decided to splurge for the water view since the last time we stayed at BWI for 1 night before our DVC stay at BWV we were next to the walkway to the bus stop for standard view. People were walking next past our balcony all hours. Anyway, is it worth it? Did anyone not get a great view with water view? Anything I should request?

Debbie B-
This is my second post to you because you'll be at the BWI the same time as I will be. Last October I had a standard view room and it was lovely. I had requested a large balcony which we got. It was overlooking a beautiful courtyard strewn with rose bushes. Based on this I wouldn't spend the extra $$ on waterview. My advice would be to book standard with a large balcony and courtyard view. Of cousrse, there's no guarentee you'll get it but it doesn't hurt to ask. If you do this, ask for an upgrade at check-in; you just might get it!

I read at allears.net that there is a continental breakfast at the belle vue room. Is it available to all guests or is this just for concierege?

The Belle Vue is a nice little place to grab a quick breakfast. They usually have breakfast pastries, bagels, cold cereals (select from 4), coffee, tea, milk, juices and bottled water for purchase. The breakfast pastries and bagels come from the Boardwalk Bakery and cost the same as the bakery. The bow-ties are really good for a moring suger rush before you trot off to the parks.

We just got back from staying there 7/12 - 7/22.

Concierge rooms question:

If I understand correctly, to get an Epcot view, that means you would have a garden view, not a water/Boardwalk view.....is that correct?

Also, does anyone have room# recommendations??

We would rather have an Epcot view, and not be too far from the lounge.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I also have a map of the resort, does anyone know what room #'s concierge rooms are?

Yes, that's correct. If you are booking a deluxe room, though, all of them have Boardwalk views. We love the BW view - we watched Wishes from our balcony one night! If you can't get an Epcot view, the view from the balcony in the concierge lounge is beautiful for watching Illuminations.

The concierge rooms are the ones on the third (a small portion) and fourth (most of them and the lounge) floors above Seashore Sweets to beside the ESPN Club.

Hi, everyone:wave2:
I am a real YC fan and almost every trip I seem to book there.
We have just booked a WV at the boardwalk for our upcoming trip after Thanksgiving. I did request a quiet NS room and the CM stated that we would definetely have a boardwalk view. We're really excited about our stay. Is there anything else I should add to my request or any other info I should know?

Thanks Belle

Zuzugal, the best room I had with a garden view close to the lounge was room 4232. Right around the corner from the lounge!

Does anyone know where the smoking rooms are located, standard or water view? Just curious, I'm going to add a non-smoking request to my reservation, the cm did not ask when I made the reservation and I forgot.

TaaDaa!!! I just booked the BW Congierge for Thanksgiving (11/24-28) tonight (can't spell it or say it properly either)... We've never stayed there before, just strolled by on the Boardwalk when were were there for Thanksgiving 2002. We never made it inside to check out the lobby etc.

I'm very excited... now to figure out what we're doing for Thanksgving dinner... Onto the planning!!!!:yo-yo:

There are no smoking rooms that have a water view. There are a handful in concierge and the rest are in a block on the second floor for standard rooms...they all have garden views.

We stayed at BWI in Oct last year and the front desk staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and eager to help with anything you wanted or needed.

The bell staff, valets, maids and other cast members were very gracious and warm.

BWI is our favorite resort. We would not stay anywhere else on Dis property.

We had a waterview room on the 2nd floor sorry, I do not remember the room #. It was right by the Flying Fish. Balcony was small but roomy enough for two.

The room had two queen beds and a day bed. The room was a ways from the elevator, but not overly cumbersome.

Looking forward to our stay 11/2004.

I think I'm losing my mind-can't remember where I saw it but maybe someone can provide info.

Are the BWV having a major water pipe refurb in October

(We'll be there 9-18 but in the Inn part)? Will this effect the pool area at all?

Do all of the WV rooms overlook the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake? If not, what else do these rooms have a view of? Is there a map available that shows which rooms are categorized as GV and WV? TIA!

mariamouse :D

"Are the BWV having a major water pipe refurb in October"

We just returned from BWV today and our hallway was definitely having water pipe work done. At first with thought it was from Charlie, but it appeared to be scheduled work. The carpet was covered in plastic in the hall and they were cutting out the ceiling, fixing pipes and then replacing the ceiling. It really didn't bother us much until they cut the phone line to our room and we didn't get a wake up call!!

I think there's a map showing a bird's eye view of the all the boardwalk resorts on the YC Thread. It shows an overview of YC, BC and BWI. They also show a hotel map of YC and BC, showing all the room locations on each floor. But I've never seen one for BWI.

I have requested Boardwalk/Waterview rooms for our visit 11/6-13, but now I'm not so sure. I've reserved concierge rooms, but wondering if we should request Garden view. I definitely don't want a view of Luna Park. Would this be considered a waterview room. If so, I may be better off requesting a garden view and hope for a view of Epcot and Illuminations.
