Ya!!:banana::dance3::dance3:, I was just able to make my change. Yesterday I had drop CL and kept DxDP. I was doing some number crunching, and I could of save a few dollars by staying with CL and drop DxDP. Well this morining I called and they where able to do it:cool1:. I kept my request for Boradwalk view. They are so great as many times as I have changed my resv the past couple of weeks i thought for sure they would see my number again and say here we go again.:lmao:
:woohoo:Yeah for being able to rebook CL! I have to say I am NOT surprised DxDDP turned out to be more expensive. I think you will be very happy in a CL room!

So for ones that never stay there, on top of never staying at a Dlx whats the must do's in and around the BWI,beside swimming and i will do that this time:rotfl2:
Have a meal at Flying Fish!!!

I have reservations at the Boardwalk.
Is it a good idea to just wait and make my request when I arrive or should I call ahead?

I am also not sure if I should purchase MK tickets ahead of time or wait til we get there and see how the weather is.

If you have any room requests I would make them now by calling the Disney Reservation Center. This way when they do room assignments they can try to make your requests happen, so it's easier then making them when you check-in.

As for your tickets if you want to purchase them now that's fine, however if you want to purchase them at the Boardwalk you can do that.

Thank you. I've been trying to read this entire thread on rooms!

I had heard that if you make a request then they usually don't offer you an upgrade.

Is there a particular section that I can request that would have a nice view. Of course, I would love to see the fireworks but we could also see them from the boardwalk.
We currently just have a standard room - garden view - I hope.

Room requests don't have any effect if you are to get an upgrade or not. Now I know that the Standard Club Level Rooms with the Garden View usually have a view of Illuminations and I think it's the same for the non Club Level rooms with the Garden View, however I am not 100% sure about that.

Just like myself we have converted someone else to the Dark Side of staying Club Level at the BWI. :rotfl2:

Oooooo, the Dark Side, does staying at BWI mean we will forever give up CR? I know that a one night stay won't do more than whet my appetite but I was just not crazy about staying at the Swan, even if it was just for the night.....

Are they comfortable?

They aren't bad. They are memory foam mattresses.

We had one on our first stay at the BWV that was awful, but we were just there last week and it was comfy. :thumbsup2

As for must do's at the Boardwalk, we LOVE taking the boat to DHS. It's a relaxing ride. We also love dipping into Epcot for some dinner. YUM!

If you look at the map it looks like a fair number of garden view rooms would not have a view toward Epcot to see Illuminations.

I've stayed in a CL garden view room and you could see parts of Illuminations from those rooms but they are in the light pink area on the map so you can see that those would have a view over toward Epcot while it looks like other garden view rooms might not have a view in that direction.

seadd67--allow plenty of time for watching the entertainment out on the boardwalk, for sitting on the benches and people watching. Take a nice stroll around the whole Crescent Lake, checking out the Yacht and Beach clubs.

Make sure you go down the very fun clown slide--it's a blast. Check out the quiet pool and the hot tub over there, because it seldom has anyone over there!

Watch the upper fireworks from EPCOT at 9:00 out on the balcony in the club lounge. If your room faces the boardwalk, you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the distance (but check the times as they can change every night). Get a drink and desserts from the lounge, and enjoy sitting out on your balcony.

Well I can't say that I will forever up staying at the Contemporary, although this coming August will be our 2nd straight stay at the Boardwalk Inn without staying at the Contemporary.

So when we where at pop last July the pool temps seem realy warm, are they any diffrent at BWI, and or in Sept?

I'll search for info but can anyone tell me more about the pools? Is the clown slide good for a 5 1/2 yr old? He isn't a deep water swimmer but is fine going under water. Do they only let 1 person on at a time or could I go down with him? The slide just looks very high.... maybe the view I've seen in photos just make it look that way?

I picked Boardwalk Inn because I heard all the water view rooms actually look at the water (not the pool)... Is that true?

Thanks!

this is our first BWI stay but I know from experience that if you feel uncomfortable with your son's swimming skills all WDW resort pools have life vests available for use. (no charge and various sizes).

The clown slide will absolutely be fine for a 5 1/2 year old. I saw plenty of kids younger than that going down! My granddaughter was 6 when she was there, and went down the slide about 50 times.

It is a bit high, but very safe--the sides of the slide are very high, you can't even see over them on the way down. Only one person at a time can go down the slide. You come out in water about 4'6", and it's just a few strokes to the side of the pool. You could always go down first, and wait at the bottom for him to come down.

The slide is really fun.

Is there a coin laundry near one of the pools at the Boardwalk?
I read that there is one in the third floor.

On the 3rd floor of the Boardwalk Inn there is a laundry room. Use your room key to access it. There are 4 washing machines, 1 which is a commercial sized washing machine, and six clothes dryers.
