The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

I'm trying to convince my mom to come to Disney with me to use the PIN code I got. I've decided to convince her to stay @ BWI so if anyone has anything they think would be useful in persuading her, please share! While I wait for suggestions I'm going to go read through this thread!

We just switched our reservation from AKL to BWI standard club level. I'm so excited!

It's such fun to look forward to a great Disney vacation!!

That's what I thought. My mom is my favorite person in the whole world and I am going to graduate soon and won't have the freedom to go on family vacations anymore. I really want to spend time with her. She just told me she doesn't want to go because my brother has baseball games and she needs to help my sister with college decisions. I don't think that one weekend will affect either of those things, but that's what happens when you're the family disappointment I guess I should be used to that by now. I think that's why I like Disney so much - I get away from real life for once and none of that matters!!!

Oh, Goodness, Aloha. I'm sending you Congrats on your coming graduation! That's a very special accomplishment. You know your mom best, but if you think it's OK to ask again, you might mention to her that even though it's only a quick weekend, you'd so treasure that special time together with her.

Hi, which floor were you on? and being located right on the boardwalk, did you hear any music or noise from folks going in and out of the espn club when trying to sleep? i know you said you didn't spend much time at the resort during the day, but do you think a nap would be possible with the noise level? tia

Hello! We were on the third floor. At night, it was a bit noisy with all of the entertainment going on and the people cheering. Nothing that you could not fall asleep with in the background, though. We were at the resort a couple of afternoons for naps and the noise was not an issue at all. It is relatively quiet on the Boardwalk in the afternoons, just some music playing. I don't remember hearing the music from inside the room. The walls do a pretty good job of blocking out the noise!

In the mornings you can buy contintental breakfast items and fill your mug with coffee at the bar in the Bellvue Room. Otherwise, I think you have to go to the Boardwalk Bakery to fill your mug. You might be able to get it filled at the pool bar but I am not sure. This is one place the refillable mugs are not as convenient.

Can someone give me some more information about the Bellvue Room. We are staying in a standard room - can we go to the Bellvue? Does the food they sell there count as snack credits on the DDP? If not do you just charge things to your room? What are the hours and what kind of food do they serve? Is it just as good as the bakery or are we better off going to the bakery if we want a croissant to start the day? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Anyone can go to the Bellevue. It serves a very basic breakfast in the morning, closed for lunch, and open for drinks in the evening. The food at Bellevue comes from the bakery downstairs, but it's typically much more limited. I would guess you could use a snack credit for a bagel or muffin, and I know it is on the dining plan. Most people use quick service credits there but I would assume (could be wrong) that they also accept snack credits.

The bakery has more choices and even warm sandwiches all day. It also is open more hours, and is the only quick service option at BW open for lunch and dinner.

Speaking of this, does anyone know why the Boardwalk is the only (one of the only?) resorts that doesn't have some sort of food court/quick service restaurant? Is it because the pizza window, the bakery, etc... kind of take the place of that even though they are separate areas? I was kind of bummed to know there wasn't one central location to grab a little breakfast, coffee, or a snack later in the day.

We're thinking of staying at BWI April of 2010, me, DH, DS(will be 5), and DD(will be 2), and then my parents. I think we will be standard view and would love to have connecting rooms, thank you all so much for the info that has been posted! It seems like a very nice resort and I love the look of the refurbished rooms! I haven't gotten too far in reading this thread, but do all of the rooms have balconies/patios? It would be nice in the evening after putting the kids to bed to be able to sit outside. I can't wait to read more about this wonderful resort!

Hello! Yes, all of the rooms at the Boardwalk have patios/balconies. You will LOVE the Boardwalk! It is such a nice place to stay. If you have any more questions, make sure to ask!

Thank you so much! The resort looks beautiful and I know we will like the convenience to Epcot and all that the boardwalk has to offer! I am sure I will think of more questions!!

The lobby looks SOOO formal for a family with two small, loud,messy kids- yikes!
And the furniture in the rooms... is it as breakable and pointy as it looks?
How much of a trip is it to the Magic Kingdom?
We've only stayed at POP,which I liked for it's durable,kid-friendly design..(although the food court was a bit of a madhouse!)

Can I ask why you have to stay there? If you are spending most of your time at MK it would be better to be at the Polynesian or contemporary.

If you are looking for a more informal atmosphere you may want to look into staying at BC

We actually won a trip, so the choice is not ours! I'm excited and grateful for the free trip, but a tad nervous about the environment. Yes, we'll be spending most of our time at MK and AK, followed by Epcot (FW, mostly) and HS..


Also,how would we get to Ohana for the Lilo and Stitch breakfast? I'm assuming we have to take bus to MK, then monorail or bus to poly, right? It's the only big character breakfast the kids are insisting on!

If you can swing it, take a taxi. It's so much faster & easier. You can not take a bus to the Polynesian. You need to take a boat or monorail. If the timing is right take the boat.

This thread started in 2002.
I called Board Walk Inn yesterday and was told a refrigerator is standard in all rooms. The front page on this thread says they cost $10.00 per day. Has anyone been there recently and can give me the correct answer on this?
Also are there coffee pots in every room now or do we still have to request one from housekeeping?
