The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

First of all, we loved the Boardwalk and the BW pool. We were in a standard room that faced Epcot with a view of the Eiffel Tower. I had been worried that there were "no restaurants" in the hotel but found that this was not a problem at all. There are so many restaurants nearby. You can get continental breakfast items in the Bellvue Room in the mornings or Spoodles serves a full breakfast.

Anyway, yes there is a path to the pool. It is kind of hard to describe - you need to get outside towards the Boardwalk side which you can reach through the lobby or stairs near the Bellvue room. It sounds complex but it really isn't. I did not find it to be inconvenient at all.

So far the Boardwalk is my favorite resort.

In looking at the map of BW - I noticed the main pool is on the villa side. I know this is a silly question but how do people staying in BWI get to the pool? Do they have to walk through the lobby? Must be a path outside?

Thanks for any info. Not booked at the BW but considering it.

My stay in October was my first, and I really should have looked around BWI more than I did....somehow, it took us forever to find the main pool the first time. We went down the elevators (from where we were, we took one elevator down to the Bellevue Lounge area, then had to get on another to go down to the bottom level, or just take the stairs by the lounge). There is an exit to the outside by the boardwalk, then a minute walk past the front and around the corner to the clown pool. Not hard once you discover it!

Next trip to BWI, I am going to get my bearings to everything the first afternoon I am there (yep, we had trouble finding the quiet pool as well).

Thanks Tinkerbell60 & jackemail - thanks for the info. We're currently booked at CBR - connecting rooms for Sept 09. But its looking like we'll have to cancel - DH's job problems but am thinking that the next time we go may be in May 2010. I've always wanted to stay at the BW so perhaps we'll do that. Haven't cancelled September's trip - hoping someway we'll be able to make it.

Thanks again.

Hi! We'll be staying in a Deluxe Concierge room at the end of June through early July and I had a few questions. Everything I have read on multiple sites states that the Deluxe rooms ALL overlook the Boardwalk, however, upon emailing IPO I was told that they do NOT and that they would include that on our reservation as a 'request.' Did something change after the renovations?

In addition, we have requested a room on the 4th floor so we can be nearer to the lounge. Does anyone know if there is a resort map with room numbers listed on it like most other resorts on this site have? We're trying to get an idea of where the deluxe club rooms are in relation to the resort as a whole and where they are in relation to the lounge.
Thanks!!!

It's across the courtyard from the Inn side. On the Inn side, go down the elevators to the main floor (same level as the lobby) and then take the flight of stairs down to the bottom floor by the lounge (as you said) Go out that side door. Instead of walking right; toward the boardwalk; cut straight across the courtyard and pass through the breezeway between the gym and the art gallery (?) on the Villa side and you’ll be at the main pool.

It really is easy once you get there.

SRU---don't know why they told you that, but DELUXE concierge rooms definitely have views (and wonderful ones) of the boardwalk. Never fear.

The renovated deluxe concierge rooms are amazing in every respect.

Thank you! My mom will be so glad to hear that. :)

Here is the reply I got from them:
"We will put in the system that you are requesting to be on the 4th floor and facing the Boardwalk because not all deluxe rooms face the boardwalk. If we may assist you in any way, please feel free to contact us."

When we made our reservation for October we were told the same thing - not all deluxe rooms face the boardwalk. At the time I thought the cm was incorrect, but now the IPO cm is saying the same thing:confused:

Bella, I'm trying to find out what's accurate info on the Deluxe room BWI rooms, also.
Disney's own site doesn't waffle on this: "Deluxe Club Level Room offers expansive views of Disney's BoardWalk"

I wonder if the IPO is careful to not promise a boardwalk view because a guest may actually have a standard CL room and not realize the difference in the views. From Disney about the standard BWI Cl: "Standard Club Level Room offers expansive views of Disney's BoardWalk Inn courtyard, leisure pool or BoardWalk"

Really would like to have this answered accurately once and for all. Anyone who can help, chime in. Will be greatly appreciated!!:flower3:

BWI deluxe rooms are all facing the boardwalk. They are located on the 3rd and 4th floor. First time we stayed in one it was on the 4th floor, the 2nd time we were on the 3rd floor. There aren't many deluxe rooms, not sure of the exact count. The concierge CM pointed out the rooms to us, and they definitely were all on the boardwalk.

Maybe the IPO person you talked to was not from BWI and was just reading from their info. sheet (which is wrong). Disney needs to update their info.

The deluxe concierge rooms all face the Boardwalk. Definitely.

Thanks for the reassurance, jjohnson and LWcalif. Much appreciated!! The extra space and the view were the reasons we booked a deluxe room. Now we just have to wait for our trip to arrive!!:thumbsup2

When we stayed CL at BWI last may, we stayed in a room outside the locked CL area, around the corner before the CL desk. There were several rooms that they used for CL overflow (i assumed). The rooms were corner rooms that had more sqft and windows on 2 sides. Theoretically they were classified as Standard View. One side faced the courtyard, the other side was the baconey that faced the BW & Lake. Every evening we would sit out on the balconey and watch the magician perform on the Boardwalk. The only "drawback" was having to use our room key to get into the offical CL area to get to the lounge.

I emailed the IPO for the Boardwalk Inn, so I know it was someone at the Boardwalk that was responding to me and we are booked for a Deluxe Concierge room, so it's not a standard concierge room. The IPO response even said:

I'm confused.....:confused3 Maybe I'll try emailing again?

I got a similar response a few weeks ago. All I can figure is that they do not want to promise a boardwalk view in writing in case someone shows up and has changed their ressie to standard, or was confused to begin with and didn't understand the difference between standard and deluxe CL. I guess I need to have the above noted in my reservation. It's somewhat annoying, I'll say that.

Wish what seems like a straightforward answer would just be easy to get.

Thanks! I hope that's the case because it has my mom worried. This is a girls trip with my mom and sister and I and we're trying to make it really special for her. I emailed again just to get clarification. I hope they don't think I'm annoying :)

The deluxe rooms are all boardwalk view. I think that some of the info that the CM's have is incorrect, listing multiple types of views, which is why you get the incorrect info.

They are all BW views, but they are not all on the 4th floor, which is where the lounge is. Some of the deluxe rooms are on the third floor and some are on the fourth floor. The balconies on the third floor rooms seem to be somewhat bigger than those on the fourth floor (I say "seem" as I am not sure - we have never stayed on the fourth floor in a deluxe room; we have stayed on the third floor).
