The "Blow Off" at Epcot

I can't open your file, but wanted to say we saw it from the Dolphin last September. We had no idea what it was at the time and thought there had been a small explosion! Never did catch it again though....

Wow! :scared1: How cool that you got it on video. We are planning on staying at BCV next year and I'm glad that I know about it. I think I would have been scared that there had been an explosion. Thanks for sharing!!!princess:

Wow -- thanks for posting! I had never heard of this either and probably would have had a heart attack if I saw something that looked like an explosion...

Wow, that's so cool! Can anyone who's seen it narrow down the time to any smaller window than 10:30--11:45? Otherwise I'd be sitting on my balcony for over an hour waiting for it.

I never heard of this...how did you know what it was? Did you know it when it happened?

That is Kewl.... ..I wonder how many people can see that flash and wonder ...OMG. Thanks for posting that video.::yes::

Oops, the time is wrong! It was 10:30 to 10:45. Sorry about that!

Also, it didn't go off a few nights. DH was on the balcony every night and a few times he said it look like there might have been activity in Epcot and it didn't happen. He stay out till about 11:10 and gave up.
Also, he just said that once it happened a little before 10:30 too.

Wow! Hope my dh doesn't see this post! Next thing I know he'll be switching our BWV ressies in January to BC and he'll be on the balcony every night trying to tape it, driving me nuts in the process! :p This sound just like something my dh would do! Cool video...thanks for sharing!

Before he does that, I was wondering if we might have any chance of seeing it from the BWV (hopefully a high floor) in January. If not, anyone able to stay in the park that late to see it up close?

We heard about "The Blow Off" at Epcot each night. Apparently they release the gas left from the fireworks barge around 10:30 11:45 every night. Well, DH caught it on video when we were there a few weeks ago. This is taken from our room at the BCV. You will need Quicktime to view it.

Hi,

Thanks for posting this. Just when you think you know everything that there is to know about Disney you find out something that you did not know that you did not know.:D

Very cool.:D

Yeah, besides seeing the BCV alligator, I think this was the highl's light of DH's trip!

I guess some people do try to hang out in Epcot in order to see it. You might just take your time leaving, especially if you are staying at one of the Epcot resorts, it might be easier to do so.

We had a studio on the 5th floor. Room #563.

Ditto, Tiffany - I never heard of this before -
Guess what I'll be looking for next month?

So THAT'S what that was! We stayed late one night at Epcot having a leisurely dinner at Le Cellier. As we were walking towards the International Gateway we heard the big BOOM and saw a ball of fire over the lagoon. We thought they were testing some fireworks!?

So, the answer to "can you stay in the park and see it?" is possibly yes, if you take a long time to eat, have the latest reservations (which is what we always get, to allow for all the touring time possible), and walk SLOWLY back to the International Gateway.

Thanks for the clip!

Wow! I never heard of this before. That was quite a sight. Thanks for sharing.
