Everyone else has probably seen it but, I just watched "The Blind Side" on ppv on Direct TV. It was amazing! I cried most of the way through--laughed in parts and was crying so much at one point I had to take a moment before I could explain something to dd.

I usually do not watch movies that I know will make me cry but this one was really, really good and just such a wonderful story to tell.

It is just so great to see something so positive come from someone who had the unfortunate background that Mike had. It is just the type of story that really makes an impact on a person and makes them think.

Its also good to see Tim McGraw's acting getting better and better! He has done some really good movies but his acting wasn't always the best part of those movies. kwim?

I agree! Loved this movie! I thought Sandra Bullock was hilarious and her son in the movie cracked me up (DH swears if we ever had a son he would be like that kid lol). We have probably watched that movie a dozen times already lol.

I watched it last night for the first time. I loved it! Movies like that are too few and far between. Very inspiring! Great acting all the way around.

I love that movie. It's one of the best I've seen in a while. VERY GOOD!! It's one of those movies I could watch over and over again.

Oh, me too! DD and I agreed that we will end up buying the dvd.

I have always like Sandra Bullock but she was soooo good in this part.

I haven't seen it yet. Rainy day tomorrow...I might just watch it!!

I loved this movie too. We rented it on tv the day it came out. I could watch it over and over!

We loved it too and so truly thought Sandra's acting was up to Oscar caliber and so thrilled when she won.
I can't until next Sunday when it will be the big thing in our baskets.:goodvibes

ITA. We just rented it last night, and the whole family enjoyed it!

We bought the DVD this past week, Costco had it :thumbsup2 for $18.99 :yay:, and just watched it last night (like many on this thread). Wow. What a great movie. Tim McGraw more than held his own acting-wise...he did a great job. And Sandra Bullock was great...actually I loved everything about the movie and thought it deserved every bit of its acclaim. I had been feeling down about a situation, but I turned to my family last night and said that if Mike could rise above his situation in life, then I could deal with what was going on right now with a project we're all involved in. (Send us some good thoughts & prayers if you don't mind...it's been very frustrating.)

agnes!
PS - And now they can say "Starring Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock" as well as "with Oscar-winner Kathy Bates".

Prayers coming your way!

It is definitely the kind of movie that makes you stop and rethink your own situations and realize that maybe your own life isn't has hard as you thought. He overcame so much and could have turned out a LOT different. Its so sad to see what some kids have to go through just to grow up much less succeed in life. I am always amazed at the strength of a person to rise above.

We watched it last night and thought it was a very good movie. We ordered it from Comcast and parts of it kept breaking up. Did they explain why the school admissions committee said they would accept Michael's friend Steven but you never saw Steven at the high school?

That was one thing that bothered me at the theater. I never understood what happened to the friend. I'm thinking something got cut. Dd10 thought he was the one who was in the newspaper at the end, but I don't know.

I thought the "friend" situation was explained when Mike heard him and his dad arguing through the wall (at least I think it was the kid- didn't the Dad explain that it was just him and the kids?). The "friend" wanted his dad to throw Mike out of their house, because he was too much trouble. We didn't see him or hear about him again because he wasn't really Mike's friend.

I think the one in the paper at the end was the boy who was at the drug house- the one who had dropped out of community college because he didn't like people telling him what to do.

I LOVED this movie. But I needed a nap afterwards. I cried from the when he did his laundry to the very end. I did manage to get myself together at times, but then something else would happen and I'd start all over again.

Oh, and I have a question. Why don't we hear about the boy who played Michael? He absolutely ripped my heart out, and while I think she did a fabulous job, they make it sound like Sandra Bullock was the only one in the movie.

He was in Law and Order the other night. He's new to acting.

We watched it last night and are watching it again now :thumbsup2

One of the few movies that really made me laugh and cry :goodvibes

Last time I remember feeling this way about a movie was "Remember the Titans" - great movie :thumbsup2
