Don't get me wrong... I actually enjoy their studio stuff a whole lot, but they just can't sing a lick. I told my family to expect that they wouldn't like the halftime show, and that the BEP couldn't sing. They disagreed - until they watched it. Fergie can hit some notes once in awhile, but generally she's just a screamer, IMO. The halftime was interesting, though.

Agree. I thought the same thing when i heard them on the today show awhile back. They obviously get some extra help in the studio. I really like them though, guess I'll just to skip the live performances. Poor Fergie was trying so hard to interact with Slash but he wasn't giving her anything! Is he always like that??

I've heard them before-I think on GMA-and they were pretty bad live then as well. Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are another two that come to mind pretty quickly as being horrible live.

Actually I am going to disagree. I have seen them live several times and they were amazing. I know just listening tonight that something was wrong with Fergie's mic. There was something off with the sound tonight and that stadium is not built for acoustics.

Trust me they sound way better than that.

Funny! My husband said, "If Fergie was on American Idol tonight, she wouldn't be going through!" I have to agree. The rest of the band was great. Fergie was just screaming.:confused3

The worst part was when Slash came out. UGH! I bet he was wishing he was playing solo. She did not enhance his performance.

Slash really doesn't interact with the singer. On top of that she was trying to sound like Axl.

It makes me wonder how rehearsals went.:rotfl:

I thought it was the cast from Tron.

WHat a completely bizarre show.

I've now seen them live 3x on TV... all 3 times were bad.

There were tech difficulties with the show for sure. Part of the stage never lit up and Fergies mic constantly cut out. That said, they are a studio group more than a live one, but their shows are a ton of fun!

I agree with this. :thumbsup2 I have seen them several times live myself and Fergie has an AMAZING voice. The acoustics and audio set up did not sound good at all. I think it had more to do with that than how well they can sing.

Ive also seen them live and they give a great show. Fergie has a beautiful, strong voice. Something was "off" at the SB, though. But I still enjoyed them.

I do some singing (obviously nothing like them) and it's amazing how much the acoustics and audio can affect your song. It sounded like they were getting a lot of feedback from the music and maybe she wasn't hearing herself well?

I sing every Sunday with a group and if one of our speakers has problems or the audio mix of our voices and teh music is not right, it can really affect our singing quality because people try to over compensate or can't hear to hit the notes. And this is just on a very small level. I can't imagine trying to do it on that large of a level.

They could very well be a horrible live group. I haven't seen them live other than this and the video of the Oprah flash mob. I didn't think they sounded bad on Oprah. Sure there were one or two notes on the Oprah show that did not sound good, but overall I thought the quality was pretty good. (on the Oprah show.) Tonight's performance seemed to be more problems with audio than anything else.
