Does anyone else cook their turkey upside down? A few years ago I read or someone told me about doing this because it makes the white meat moister. Well, I thought about it & decided "how bad could it turn out". I've been doing it now for about 4 years & the meat is outstanding - & I'm a dark meat lover. We cook it in the turkey bag also.
I had never enjoyed the white meat all that much because it just always seemed too dry - hence I always ate the dark. Since cooking the bird upside down I also enjoy the white meat.
I had to laugh though because my MIL will always comment on how good the turkey is & how moist it is at Thanksgiving. Every year DH tells her it's because we cook it upside down & she should try it that way for Christmas. She just shrugs & then on Christmas day she cooks it the regular way & we get dry white meat.
Whatever!
