SEASON 8 BL Contestants. :goodvibes

Can someone tell me how to find Jillian's podcast on itunes? I have tried searching but can't find it.

I believe it's on a radio station played out of California on Sundays called like KNBR or something like that. I believe I just searched her name in the "search" bar in the iTunes store or I searched KNBR. I can't remember, sorry! Then you get a list of all of the people that have radio shows on that day and you select Jillian Michaels to download (it's free). It is so good! I've downloaded the past year's worth of Sunday's shows and listen to them in the gym or in my car. It's two hours every Sunday and they cut out the commercial breaks on iTunes which is nice. She talks some about Biggest Loser (especially when it's the beginning of the season or close to the finale) and gives kind of a behind the scenes look into Biggest Loser (like how the actual weigh in process goes, her disdain for a lot of the product placement on the show, i.e. Ziploc steam bags, etc.) but most of the show is about Health and Wellness. She presents information in a very easy to understand way (dangers of soy, plusses of eating organic, etc.) and also takes phone calls and emails from people. I've found I like her a lot more now from listening to the radio show :)

Oh my goodness! That was quite the introduction to their first challenge. Anybody think they are pushing these people too hard? When somebody has to be airlifted on the first day, there is a problem. One of these days they are going to kill someone.

What did Allison say to them right before the weigh in. I ran out to the garage and came back in to the mall looking a bit shocked.
Do both members of the team go home, or just 1?

I alway wish they wouldn't send anybody home the first week, it always seems like the first person/team going home doesn't even get a chance.

And sympathy aside - and I am really sympathetic - I didn't think it was fair that the Purple team lady got to avoid the weigh in.

How on Earth would she weigh in from a hospital bed? I think they did the only fair thing they could. Honestly, to be most fair I think they should have told Purple Team that they would not be counted this week because both members were in the hospital (one for an extended stay). So obviously they didn't have the same chance the others did, but thankfully it worked out.

I want Alexandra to go home. She was way too quick to throw her partner under the bus and something about her just really rubs me the wrong way.

ok guys I have NEVER watched even one full show .

I am watching it right now and I am hooked . My heart is breaking for the lady who lost her family in a car wreck . I want to be her diet buddy .

I am no skinny minnie and have lost 80 lbs in 2 years and I feel sorry for myself all the time because I gained some back so now and feel as though I have 30 more lbs to go . I WILL NOT HAVE A PITY PARTY AGAIN !!!!

These people ..... have so much more then me to lose ...

I look forward to watching it with you guys

How on Earth would she weigh in from a hospital bed?.
The same way anybody else weighs themselves - on a scale. ;) Most hospitals have one or two of them around.

Just my opinion, but everybody else had to weigh... she didn't have immunity.
That "how they look now" person looks pretty darn good now. Good job!

But that really wouldn't be fair at all. First of all she has not had the opportunity to do the diet, workout, etc. Hospital food is awful. I belong to a diabetes forum, and you would not believe the diet they consider healthy for diabetics in the hospital. It's the worst possible thing for us. It is scary the experiences some of our members have had. Plus, she did not have the opportunity to work out.

The other issue that different scales weigh differently and the hospital scale may not be as precisely calibrated as the BL scale. For the most accurate results the same scale needs to be used, at the same time each week, in the same clothes.

The final issue is that in the hospital she is probably being pumped full of fluids which can lead to artifical weight gain. I think they did it the only fair way they could. She was not given immunity, her team still weighed in and she would still be on the chopping block if her team member did not pull his weight- just like everybody else. I mean, the poor girl gave it her all on their first ill conceived challenge which is what caused the problem. It seems rather heinous to essentially punish her for their lack of foresight.

One doesn't stay in the hospital for an entire week unless something pretty serious is wrong with them. I would assume this isn't a case of simple dehydration since Mo had that and was back the next day.

In addition, they have to be giving her fluids. She certainly isn't going to lose weight in that situation.

I agree with the person that said there shouldn't be any eliminations the first week. I would rather them let everyone stay for two weeks and eliminate 2 people at the end of the second week so they can stay on schedule. I think that gives them a little better chance to succeed at home since the end goal is for all of these people to succeed.

I am not a crier but Abby's story had me sobbing. Like Jillian said, I am not sure I could go on if I lost my entire family. One method Jillian always uses with the contestants is the threat of death. "If you don't change, you are going to die of a heart attack." Abby said death doesn't scare her at all. It will be interesting to watch how Jillian keeps her motivated.

Yes, yes, and yes. And here's another thought: most hospitals don't have scales that can weigh people over 300-lbs. I believe they did it the only fair way--she gets a pass, since she's stillin the hospital(*oy!) and he has to lose x-amount of weight or he goes home. If she was strong enough to work out, she wouldn't be in the hospital. Evidently they must think she's going to be able to continue to compete or they would have just kicked her to the curb.

I was disappointed at how Alexandra reacted to her partner's weight loss. True, he should have probably lost a lot more than he did. He said he tried hard, but really, he's what? 400 pounds? At least 100 pounds heavier than she is. Thirteen pounds is a drop in the bucket when you start at 400. Anyway, she's going to have the last laugh. Did you see her "after" shots? OMG. :eek:She's gorgeous!

I have never watched an entire season. How do you all think it's going to work this season with both trainers working with everyone? They did seem to disagree about 1 thing already. Do you think it's better for them to not know their partner ahead of time?

I really enjoyed Tara. I found Helen to be annoying for a long time and, like Jillian, did feel she was too skinny at the finale (but certainly understand the motivation behind losing every tiny bit of weight to win the show). I liked Mike too and am so glad he has a whole new chance at life (as well as his brother).

Helen totally annoyed me too, here's hoping for no "Helen's" this season :wizard:

Bob & Jillian were really tough on them, I wonder if they always started out like that and we just never saw it :confused3

The woman who lost her family broke my heart ! omg I was bawling like a baby !

I like it being strangers as partners but i'm not sure how I feel about the trainers working together, I kind of liked it being Jillian against Bob :rotfl:

I alway wish they wouldn't send anybody home the first week, it always seems like the first person/team going home doesn't even get a chance.

I also think they shouldn't send anyone home the first week, they should at least have two weeks training with Bob and Jillian.

My heart just breaks for Abby.

Abby's story broke my heart and honestly I don't know how she gets up every day. I would have to agree with Jillian, I would rather lay down and die.
But wow, what an inspiration. She is there, completely there. Dying would be the easiest choice but she choose to go on, God I'm getting teary again. breathe.

I really hope Abby succeeds in everything she sets her mind to and I do believe she has a purpose on this Earth, I can't wait to see what it is.

OK I'm rooting for Abby and Rudy!
