Besides marriage and children, what is the biggest change you've made in your life so far?

Leaving fulltime work and becoming a SAHM. I got a job as soon as I turned 16, and worked at least part time continuously until DD was born 16 years later. It was a BIG adjustment to go from that to being at home all day, every day. Now, I really like it (although I will probably start working PT again when DD enters middle school next fall), but it took a while for me to switch gears.

I have a lot of them.

Moving from Africa to the US at age 18 alone.
Moving from the W. Coast (after 20 years) to the East Coast 3 years ago.
Quitting my teaching job of 16 years to being a SAHM in a new area.
Losing a loved one to cancer.

The biggest change I have made, would be a personal/emotional one. I over the years have made sure I remember to treat people, not how they treat me but how I would want to be treated. Its a hard one for me, I have tendency to react to people in the past how they react to me. I have changed that!

Other than that, the biggest change besides marriage and children would have been moving and staying in another state without family and learning to call it "HOME"

Retiring and moving to Florida. No regrets.

Excercising everyday, eating healthier and losing 40 pounds. :goodvibes
Surprisingly it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

DH and I started our own business. I would have NEVER dreamed!!:confused3

Getting healthier. Cutting the salt, eating healthier foods prepared in healthier ways, quitting smoking, exercising daily, all that jazz.

I really need to cut the diet pop from my life...but it's harder to give up than even cigarettes were. I think that when I die they'll toss a Diet Pepsi into the coffin...one for the road.

From working w/individuals with autism for over 17 years, to selling real estate....easier on the body physically (no house hunters have pulled my hair or spit on me!), and still able to help others in a different kind of way...the 1st time homebuyer, a single mom who can now afford a place for her and her family...that's where the real reward lies!

Losing 186lbs - running the Goofy Mararthon - oh and getting divorced

All really good things

After 26 years, officially leaving the religion/cult I was born and raised in...and then sinning every chance I get.

Leaving my ex-boyfriend and getting together with someone much better for me
