OK, I know that technically its not Disney, and even really not a restaurant, per-se ...

But can anyone tell me about this MickeyD's???? My 5 year old keeps asking if we can go there --- he remembers driving by everyday on the bus when he was three:confused: . He LOVES McDonald's - not the food, really, but just the place. Strange, I know. But we are staying off-site and renting a car this time so I'm thinking maybe we'll stop by ...

Anyway - is it Disney themed? I think I remember a playplace, no? Anything else? Thanks!

We have stopped by many times. The food is always hot and fresh because they are so busy usually.

While I have never been inside, I have gone through the drive through a million times. It seems to be like most other McDonalds, however I will say they are very efficient, as the drive thru is very fast and my order is never wrong! I guess there is not much else to hope for in a McDonalds though:)

We have hit the drive thru as well. No better no worse than any other McDs, except the prices are A LOT higher than off property.

i just watched a mcd's special and there is a mcd's in orlando (not the one on wdw property) that is one of the top ten mcd's in the world due to uniqueness, the arcade, the food, etc... you might want to google it (the show was on the travel channel) and find out it's location :)

^^ we use to always go to that one. It's a two story mcdonalds and it's not just the typical mcdonalds food either. There are pizzas and ice cream too.

On our last trip when we stayed at POP we stopped there twice to pick up breakfast as we were in a rush to get to EMH. At first I was a little worried about the long drive through lines, but as stated above, boy do they move!

I almost wish we'd had a chance to go in since that sucker was so big. I was curious as to how it looked on the inside.

the ones on property on are expensive, there's one at DTD next to the lego store which I think kids like more than a play place. the food is no different and there is a big screen tv that plays the same old cartoon shorts. It's ok to go in there for the experence. If you want a regular mc'ds, head toward Animal kingdom lodge and at the light make a left on sherbeth and at the end of the road on the right is the mc'd's with normal prices.

The Mickey D's near Pop Century has a huge TV screen that plays cartoons all the time. My DS, who is autistic, loved it there, and we spent the better part of the afternoon watching the cartoons while it was raining.

To the OP. My son was once five and McDonald's was his favorite too. When they are that age, you might as well hang it up because you know you are going to McDonald's and THAT McDonald's on your trip. Your only other option is to toally avoid that entire area for the whole time you are there.

Your son isn't going to matter if the place is themed to Disney. He wants THAT McDonald's. Take an hour and make the little guy happy.

we passed that mcd's everyday when we went to disney last year...my dd has made me promise that we will go there once when we go back this summer....we fly in and use the disney buses, so I'm not sure exactly how we'll get there....but we'll find a way...

i love it , just because of the way it looks, we have been in it twice, it is just your standard mcdonald's . but the outside makes up for it , it is soo cute :lovestruc no play area that i can recall. the one off of i drive is something to see also it is very cool and they have different food not just typical mccdonalds food both are something to see :thumbsup2

the one near i-drive is the two storey one and its great does gourmet burgers as well and they are fantastic, we dont get them in the uk so its great to see

YOu are likely referring to the one on Sand Lake Road at I Drive. There is a thread on the offsite board going on now about this, not the best of reviews.

Take a bus to the All Stars from any park. Sports is the closest to the McDonald's and you can walk to it. There is a sidewalk and a traffic light to cross the street.

Things were so much simpler when my son was young. It was the dark ages before the play places.

yes, I believe that's the one. We stayed at asmu and everyday we passed on the way to and from the parks.

My DH and I went there once. The food and service was good. We actually enjoyed it a lot, although we aren't normally fast food people. They play Disney cartoons inside and there is an ample amount of outdoor seating so it's almost like having a picnic.
