Hi Everyone, I could use some advice: I am hoping to go to WDW for a 3-4 day trip in very early December. There are a LOT of "ifs" around this trip. "IF" I can get good airfare, "IF" there is a room available, "IF" I can get the block of days off of work, "IF" someone will come with me (though I don't mind doing a solo ). The biggest "IF" of all is "IF" there will be a MVMCP one of the nights I am going. So I have not put in for a reservation (realize there may not be anything available) since I am waiting for the MVMCP dates to be released. Airfare I am HOPING will come thru as there were great deals last year for the same time period, work will probably not be a problem...
Would you wait until the dates come out in May (?) for MVMCP, or try and book now with a guess for dates it might be held? I don't want to go unless there is a party. Also I am going again in Feb 09 and May 09, so I know if I book and have to cancel I will be able to use the points.

I'd book now - if need be, you can always try to change your dates around when the official MVMCP dates are released. Early December is a tough reservation to book after the 7 month window opens.

FWIW, DIsney has been very consistent the last few years in offering the parties. If you look at the dates for last year's parties and note the days of the week they fell on, you can pretty much guess what dates will be offered in 2008. If your trip spans a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night, it's a good bet that at least one of those nights will be a party.

I'd hold off on the airfare until your dates are set and time off OK'd.

I'm on the wait list for AK (my home), but will try for any resort at the 7 month window for a night by night. I have decided all other factors will fall into place and if this trip is meant to be, I will get a room!

We've booked already for 12/12-12/19. You can pretty much guess that MVMCP is going on about every 2-3 nights...that seems to be the trend anyway. We are going to try to go 2 nights this year!!
