Pre-Trippie!

Me (Diane) - hitting a BIG birthday and that's all you need to know! :lmao:
DD1: (25) - loves Belle and all things Disney
DD2: (23 1/2) - loves all things Disney, the Stunt Show is her favourite
DS: (20) - Jack Skellington, POC and RnRC

We are heading off for Manchester Airport at the lovely early hour of 4am - our flight leaves at 6:35am, being picked up by RS transports (hopefully!), this is a first as well as last year the VEA farce coming home totally put us off using this again.
We are spending 10 days at the Sequoia Lodge, we stayed there in 2006 and really loved it.
Plans so far are to visit the Auchan Supermarket on the first day to stock up on drinks and snacks, we have Half Board Plus and only have vague plans about where we want to eat, we plan on spending some time looking at menus before deciding on pre-booking via the hotel.
My 'big' birthday falls the day before we come home and Cafe Mickey seems to be the favourite place to eat, Inventions could also be in the running once my two veggies take a look at the menu.
We are heading into Paris (this is the only part that makes me nervous, I'm hoping I can keep it together and not panic!!) on the RER, something we've never done before (did the tour from New York Hotel last year) but I think (thanks to Small World and UK Stitch) we have enough details to know what we are doing!!! :thumbsup2 I've already pre-booked the tickets for Louvre and we also hope to visit Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and a few other places including some cemetry (if we can find it) for my DS!
Just hoping now that for the next two days we can all keep healthy, once I'm at the airport and checked in that's when I can relax and start to get REALLY excited!!!

Diane have a fantastic time and enjoy your 21st birthday

Are you going to post a photo so I know who to look for on our first day

Im sure you'll manage fine in Paris. Is it Pere Lachaise cemetry?

I haven't got any pictures on the laptop of me (thank goodness) but if I can get on the main computer I'll post a picture from last year.

Just asked my son - yes it's Pere Lachaise cemetry, where Oscar Wilde is buried? Although I think it's someone from The Doors he's looking for!

Its the 31st you leave isnt it? What time do you leave? We should be there about 2pm

Yes we leave on 31st, we don't fly out until 9:20pm, RS Transports are picking us up from the Sequoia at quarter past 6 so planning a full day in the park til at least half past 5!

My DS would like to know is the cemetry easy to find?

Just wanted to say hope you have a fabulous time! :goodvibes I love the fact your going for 10 days so you can just take all of Disney and Paris in your stride :) I'm thinking as were only going for 5 days with a four and five year old I'm going to come back with bald patches from pulling my hair out!:lmao:

I seem to remember it was - Im sure it is signposted.
This website seems a good one and has a photo of Jim Morrisons grave as well so you know what you are looking for

It is also quite close to Nation - one of the stations from where the RER goes to DLP

We first went for 10 days last year and it was brilliant, like you say we could take things in our stride, no rushing around like mad people!!
When the 'kids' were younger we used to go for 5/6 days and found that great as well, plenty of time to do everything we wanted twice over!

SmallWorld, my son thanks you! I've just looked at the RER train map and the Nation stop is two stops before Chatelet des Halles which is great, now to decide do we do this first (cemetry opens at 7:30am on weekdays) or hope that we finish in Paris before it closes at 6pm!
Thanks again for the link it certainly has helped a lot.

Wow 10 days sounds fab as you can just take your time :goodvibes

Hope you have a great birthday - 21 again huh? :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip Diane ,think about us when you are watching the parade near bella notre:goodvibes , Enjoy your birthday meal and take loads of photos to share with us when you get back :wizard:

Okay here are two pictures from last year, I've included one of myself (horrible!) and one of my three - we were having a lovely birthday cocktail in the bar at the Newport Bay.

Now I know who to look for Diane - as long as you walk round with a cocktail in your hand I should find you easily

Funny thats how we found diane last year she always has a cocktail in her hand (just kidding she puts it down while she is on thundermoutain :rotfl::rotfl:)
