We don't need no stincking codes.:D hee hee

I just love the fact that I don't have to plan my vacations around AP discounts. With DVC our rooms are already paid for. Three cheers for DVC:bounce:

It certainly is nice to avoid the scrambling for codes, always wondering if you got the best deal that was out there!

And it's nice to have that small room bill at check out time, with only the room charges on it. :)

I don't meen to sound corny here, but I get a sense of pride that I am a DVC member/owner. I really feel good when I hear the "Welcome Home".
I also like the large villas vs a hotel room. On my last trip I stayed at the Poly for three nights, and even though I love the Poly, it was tough to go back to a hotel room!

The rooms themselves. Having a kitchen, a washer/dryer and a jacuzzi was the reason we purchased DVC.

We are more inclined to take longer vacations with DVC. Our first trip home after joining, the bill at check out was for one phone call. I think it was 35 cents or whatever.
Another great thing about DVC is knowing you'll be back helps alleviate the end of vacation blues a little.

So flexible and mine till 2042!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know, between paying the monthly payment (if you finance) and paying the dues, it's not "FREE," but doesn't it sure feel like it sometimes when you stay in a great place and don't get a bill? It's like pre-paying your vacation!

In 2002 I had already paid for the room and tickets before we arrived so the hotel bill contained in-room charges, restaurants, gifts, etc. At the end of eight nights the bill was over $4,000. It's a good thing I was sitting down when I opened the envelope the morning we checked out.

Everything!

I love the resorts and having many options, the fact that I don't have to budget for a room, the kitchens so I can bring leftovers back from restaurants and reheat them or cook if I so choose, laundry facilities so I don't have to go digging for quarters when my kids dirty their 6th outfits in 2 days or so we can pack lighter, whirlpool tubs ('nuf said), relaxing more when I'm at WDW because we'll be coming back and we have such a nice place to stay, pool hopping....and that DVC gives the trip planning monster in me a way to stay occupied!

Oh and I forgot....the great bunch of fellow members here on the DIS!

I'm sure there are other things....like that cool feeling from knowing we own a tiny little piece of WDW!

I love the flexability of DVC. We've stayed in a studio, a one bedroom (my favorite) and a two bedroom (with in-laws - that won't happen again).

We've stayed at Boardwalk a number of times (our home), the Villas of Wilderness Lodge once, and have taken a number of cruises (including the wonderful DVC Member Cruise). We have also given points to family to stay at Vero Beach.

Knowing we can still do this until 2042 makes it even better!

I like the accomodations & flexability of DVC. And the "knowing I'll be back" feeling is awsome too.

One more thing, BWV didn't charge us 75 cents per phone call like the regular resorts do! That was something that I didn't know before hand!

We haven't even had our first trip "home" yet....that comes in November but one of the things that I keep thinking about is how we won't feel like we have to zoom through each and every park because it might be our only trip to WDW. We have so many years ahead of us, that we can enjoy the entire WDW at a leisurely pace...maybe even spending some days just lounging at the pool and avoiding the parks all together!

It's great to always have a countdown of some sort going, as well as sharing the excitement and joy with other DVC members on this forum. I'm still pinching myself after our first home in June!

Having the kids in the next room!!!!!!

THe best things about my DVC membership?

Having all in a room yet room for all!

Sharing the Magic! Taking family along who would NEVER go if you were paying for the room as they somehow think that DVC ownership and "points" aren't the same thing...

Not hauling my 3 kids to a restaurant for breakfast every morning for chaos and a huge bill!

And of course, knowing we are coming back to do it all over again!
:p:p:p:p:p

1- having a grade A vacation every year for the rest of our lives

2- owning a " piece of the magic"

3- having kitchen & washer/dryer facilities

4- we enjoy the parks more since we don't rush through them now.

5- being able to share "Disney" with friends & family

6- we enjoy staying at all the DVC resorts

7- we love the flexibility of DVC

Our list:

I agree with Maistre, the Welcome Home is special.

The people - CMs and the DVC members.

Disney at a relaxed pace.

One bedroom villas at the price of moderates.

Really feeling like we are going home when we arrive.

Wonderful resorts and rooms.

Great flexibility.

Being able to walk into EPCOT and really close to MGM.

Disney Magic.

Knowing we can enjoy this for many more years.

Being able to pass this on to my daughter.

The feeling I get when I arrive "home".

The feeling I get when I see that look on my daughter's face when I tell her we're going "home" again.

My "best" thing has already been stated, no big bill at the end of the stay. We usually pay cash for all purchases, and my only "room" charges are usually the connection fee for hubby to hook up the laptop. Almost always less than $10.00. Can't beat that.
