What are the best "free" things to do at Disney World and the DVC Resorts? We will be staying at BWV.

Transportation rides (monos boats etc)
People watch
Resort touring
DTD
Pools

to name a few :)

Kim Possible at Epcot.

After hours music at Epcot as the place shuts down after IllumiNations.

Actually, lots of stuff at Epcot:
  • Off Kilter
  • Japenese drum performance
  • Chinese acrobats

Riding the monorail and boats
Bob Jackson at River Roost at Port Orleans Riverside
Exploring the resorts
People watching

The Boardwalk has a variety of comedians, magic acts etc every night - usually starting around 8:00 or so and going until about 10? usually one act out at a time. they are all free, very entertaining and vary from night to night. They are entertaining to all ages. They also have arcade type games but those do come at a price!

The Bellevue Lounge on the Boardwalk Inn side of the resort has board games available to play as well.

My family loves Club Cool--or the free coke drinks from across the world. (I can't remember if it is still called that.)

My son enjoys collecting odd-ball autographs--the boat captain, a restaurant hostess (if in Epcot, he wants writing in a foreign language).

When at BWV, we also enjoy walking around the lake and taking in the BC and S&D.

Just watching the trains go by at the G-scale layout near Germany in Epcot. Really peaceful.

the nightly movies at the various hotels, I check before we go to decide which one to go to that week, or the campfire sing-a-long at the Ft Wilderness campground - bring your own s'mores supplies.

Work is just where I spend my time between WDW vacations!

May I quote you on that? I'll have to change it to Disneyland, but I love it.

As to free stuff, if you visit th VGC, try the Art of the Craft Tour or the Early morning fitness walk at California Adventure. Then there are also activities for the kids like stories by the fire in the lobby. So much to do and so little time. :)

One of my favorite things is to be in the MK early; find a rocking chair on one of the porches in Frontier Land and sit...with a cup of coffee....and rock.....and watch the people running to all the rides!!

This may sound boreing....but when you have done "commando" vactions for as long as we did prior to joining DVC, this is so darn relaxing! :rotfl:

I second the nightly entertainments along the Boardwalk.
There's also the campfire / singalong over at the Fort.
You can go and explore all of the different resorts.
Check out the animals on the various savannahs at AKV
Jogging trails around SSR & OKW

We love to do the same thing, only in Epcot, outside the R&C. You can enter the IG at 9:00 and the WS is only roped off to the right, at the bridge. We love to turn left, then just sit on the benches in front of the R&C, listen to A Belk "play the sunset"(anyone who's seen the movie "Mr. Hollands Opus" knows the song) and watch everyone run towards FW for Soarin or some other ride.

Pool hopping is our favorite! We also like to walk around resorts and take in the theming. I also second the BW entertainment in the evenings. Some great stuff. You can also go to FW and go see Cinderella's Horses, along with a petting zoo. Cindy's horses are beautiful if you have anyone in your party into horses. You can also play checkers at FW near the restaurant/bar out on the porch.

Thanks for all the suggestions. One thing I enjoyed was seeing the deer and other "critters" along the path from WL to the stables.

Walk around the broadwalk lake in the morning.
Go to the fitness room.
Take in the steam room.
Tour the GF there is entertainment late in the afternoons.
Take all the boat rides around MK.
See the fireworks of epcot by the boat dock at BC.
Go to MK see their fireworks by the beaches of GF or Poly.
Take the boat rides from DTD to OKW and Port Orleans.
Go to DTD at night and during the day.

That is just some of the things you can do that is free.

Making masks at Epcot and making sure to get them all stamped and initialed at every pavillion. When you get home frame them in a shadow box for cool art.

Well this is really not a suggestion but in Feb we were traveling back to BLT and about 1/4 mile before the resort my DH got pulled over for speeding. The nice police officer handed my DH a warning and said "this is about the only free thing you will get at Disney have a nice day".:rotfl2:

Hit Welcome Home Wednesday at Atlantic Dance Hall - always fun and you do get free swag and snacks.

I also second the Boardwalk Entertainment at night.

Check out the activity schedule when you check in - there are usually free activities. BCV has movies on the beach that I believe are open to BWV guests.

It's not free, but if you have an AP, mini golf at Fantasia Gardens is walking distance and very affordable with the AP discount.

Free movie rentals.

And I'll second pool-hopping. We've made a fun day of it and visiting resorts.
