the Best Counter Service Place to EAT in your Opinion?

Magic Kingdom- We went to Columbia Harbor House twice on our last trip because it was so tasty. I've also eaten at Cosmic Ray's and it's good too.

Epcot- On our second to last day, we did an eat and drink around the World which was a blast. Of the World Showcase offerings, Morocco gets my vote for the best. We got the gigantic chicken and lamb shwarma platter. Sunshine Seasons is another can't miss; they have a really great selection.

DHS- There's a lot of hate for the counter service here, but nothing was truly inedible as far as I was concerned. Starring Rolls is worth visiting for their cupcakes alone, but the ham sandwich was tasty too. Min and Bill's isn't bad either. I liked their milkshakes.

AK- Haven't had counter service here (unless you count Tusker House back when it was still a QS)

DTD- Wolfgang Puck Express. Deserves all the hype. We went for dinner and breakfast and they were some of our best meals, amongst the likes of Le Cellier, Jiko and California Grill.

Both the food courts at All Star Movies and Pop are excellent too-- great selections.

@ Epcot, Sunshine Seasons and Tangerine Cafe in Morocco
@MK, I would also go to the Contempo at the Contemporary rather than eat in the park
And I agree with a PP that Wolfgang Puck Express is awesome in DTD

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons
MK- Cosmic Rays
AK - Flame Tree BBQ
DTD - Earl of Sandwich
Best Resort - POR Riverside Mill Foodcourt

Our faves:

MK - Cosmic Ray's & Columbia Harbour House

E - Sunshine Seasons

HS - Catalina Eddie's/Rosie's All American - pizza, hot Italian sandwiches at Eddie's & burgers or chicken at Rosie's. They're side by side walk up windows so the family can split up to get the food but meet up at a table to eat.

AK - Pizzafari

We always stay at POR & love, love, love the food court! The create your own pasta station is open for lunch & dinner and is completely awesome.

We really like the Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland-great chicken!

Hmmm, best QS eateries?
In our opinion . . .
. . . Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (maybe the best QS in all WDW)
. . . MK: Columbia House
. . . AK: Flame Tree (good ribs)
. . . DHS: Backlot Epress
. . . DTD: Earl of Sandwich
. . . BB: Lottawatta Lodge
. . . TL: Typhoon Tilly's
. . . Deluxe Resorts: Capt Cook's at Poly
. . . Moderate Resorts: Sassagoula Flatworks at POFQ
. . . Value Resorts: Intermission at ASSMo

NOTE: We are not declaring/rating the quality of the QS eateries.
We really like Sunshine Seasons and do like Flame Tree's ribs.
Other than that, we are simply answering the question of better QS eateries.

What type of food is at Capt Cooks Im going for the drinks and the Dole whip for now!

If I had to pick only one place in the parks, it would be Sunshine Seasons for the quality and variety, though there are many good individual CS items spread throughout EPCOT. For instance I actually like the counter service in Morocco better than the TS food even without consideration of the price difference. (I thought the TS in Morocco was sub par but CS was above average)

Everything Pop is actually pretty good with excellent variety, but has a tendency to be overrun with too many customers at times.

I liked Pepper Market at CSR a few years ago, but we have not been there recently. I will probably try it again in August. People either like or hate this one though. It's a weird cross between counter service, buffet, and table service. Given the mixed reviews I wonder if there are quality control problems we did not experience, or if people were just expecting something different than they received.

There are 3 places we always go ! Columbia HH in MK, Tangerine Cafe in Epcot and Earl Of SandWich at DTD

1. AK - Yak & Yeti counter-serve has very good food IMO + Safari Amber Ale :)

2. AK - Another vote for Flame Tree BBQ

3. EP - The new counter serve at Mexico is MUCH better than before

4. MK - Fully agree with others about Pecos Bill's & Cosmic Rays :thumbsup2

Thanks for number 3 I will have to try it this trip. I tried it twice in the past just for nachos and they were gross. I'm looking forward to it this year.

I think its WGPE. A CS with a TS feel and TS food..

Secondly I like Pecos Bills and then Capt Cooks at the Poly..

We also love EOS we pick up sandwhiches for the ride home every trip..

I like Pecos and Columbia Harbour House. I can't believe how many people like Cosmic Ray's. We had the worst meal of our trip there last time. I don't think anyone ate their dinner - including our hungry kids. I hope that means we just had a bad experience and that it's usually better.

MK--Pecos Bill's for the taco salads or Cosmic Ray's for the chicken or ribs.

Epcot--Sunshine Seasons

DHS--Pizza Planet

AK--Flame Tree BBQ, but watch out for the birds!:scared1:

Resorts--POR for the build your own pasta station.

Where is the Mexican QS place located? I didn't realize that they had one there.

There are some really great QS places. Here's the ones we like the best:

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
MK: Cosmic Rays
DAK: Flame Tree
DHS: Backlot Epress
DTD: Earl of Sandwich

Favorite QS at Resorts (We are DVC members so these are our favorite QS choices out of the DVC resorts)

SSR - Artist's Palette
AKL - The Mara
WL - Roaraing Forks

MK: Cosmic Ray's
Tortuga Tavern (although I'm upset that they don't sell tacos anymore)
EP: Sunshine Seasons
HS: Backlot Express (not really that great, but I think they best one at that park)
AK: Flame Tree BBQ

Other areas:
Pepper Market @ Coranado Springs (but you will have to leave a 10% tip)
Riverside Mill @ Port Orleans Riverside
Wolfgang Puck Express @ DTD (NOT the PI, but the one by Earl of Sandwich)
Earl of Sandwich @ DTD

At Sunshine Seasons, we had the best blueberry cheesecake. Our sandwich (shared with DH we can't remember what kind) was good, too.

At WPE, the bacon wrapped meatloaf was great and the kids liked their spaghetti, too- used CS credits for the $76 bill. Earl of Sandwich was ok for OOP but maybe not for a CS credit.

La Cantina at Epcot had really good chicken tacos. The nachos were okay.

Cosmic Ray's was good & had good variety but I just don't like the atmosphere there- maybe it's the futuristic music throughout tomorrowland that irritated me.

Main Street Bakery in MK was a cheap OOP breakfast & a great use of snack credits.

We ate at Pop's food court a lot more than I predicted we would. Hanging out by the pool was so relaxing. It was never crowded in the pool and we went during crowd levels of 7, 8, & 9. The only time I saw crowds in the food court were at 11am with a blend of breakfast & lunch crowds. DS5 loved the chili cheese hotdogs. I liked everything I got there- Mickey waffles, shrimp lo mein, chili cheese dog, pizza. A large pepperoni pizza for $16 was a cheaper lunch alternative & was good. We had chips & drinks in our room. Kids' Mickey waffles were cheap at $5 and were plenty for me for breakfast- gave the bacon & sausage to DS & saved the applesauce for a snack for kids later.
