I want to start off by saying that this is my first TR ever, so bear with me. I also really like TRs with pictures, so there should be a lot of pictures coming your way. ;)

About us: My name is Nikki. I’m 21, a full time student, and work part time in the infant room at a preschool. My husband is Jerry. He’s 24 and a mechanic. We’ve been together for 5 years, married since October. We enjoy spending time together working on cars, playing with our dogs, and fixing up our house. I have been a Disney nut for as long as I can remember, but Jerry was never quite amused. That is, until this trip!

Without further boringness...

The Beginning of our Happily Ever After

We had the most beautiful fairytale garden wedding I could dream of. Following that was a long night of dancing and partying.

Officially Day 1 - Sunday, October 3

We were exhausted. Neither of us slept good that night because the bed in the room was so hard. And we were so wound up from the amazing day we had and looking forward to the honeymoon starting the next morning. The alarm went off at 7am so Jerry and I could pack up the truck and get on the road by 8. Jerry loaded all the presents while I packed our clothes and tidied up.

We turned in the keys and were on our way! It was so fun to see all the looks we were getting because our car was decorated by the bridesmaids the night before. That, and I was blowing bubbles out the window with the bubble gun! :)

Some pictures of the truck:

And on the drive down:

The trip down was very enjoyable. We had cold pizza for breakfast that was left over from the night before and just joked about having nothing to do now that the wedding was over. It only took about an hour and a half drive. The TomTom took us through a bunch of back roads, so we didn’t get to see the big Welcome signs. We actually drove in on a side road that runs just outside the Magic Kingdom. It was so cool! We pulled into the Polynesian (accidentally cutting off a guy in an SUV who proceeded to lay on the horn, give us the finger, and cuss out the window – eek) and parked in the lot right in front of the Great Ceremonial House. We left our things in the car and went into the lobby to check in. It was amazing! We were in awe as we walked over the wooden bridge and into the automatic doors. The lobby was so lush and tropical. We received leis, and I was somewhat surprised that Jerry actually put his on immediately. Although he’s a very goofy guy, he can sometimes be a party pooper. Haha!

We got in line and ended up finding out our room wouldn’t be ready for another 4 hours or so. We didn’t mind that, since we planned on heading to Hollywood Studios anyways. We left our luggage in the car but packed the backpack quickly and hopped on a bus to the Studios.

It was the craziest bus ride I’ve ever had. The driver was whipping around corners and stopping and accelerating so fast that people were flung around in their seats. We didn’t know whether to laugh or get off immediately and wait for another bus. We decided to just tough it out, and we eventually arrived safely.

We decided before the trip began that we weren’t going to run around the parks and have a schedule timed to the minute during our honeymoon. We were on vacation, for Heaven’s sake! It was time to relax. So we slowly meandered around the entrance of the park. We had a picture taken by the Photo Pass photographer then headed over to Rockin’ Rollercoaster.

SANY0020.jpg

There was already an hour wait for the ride, so Jerry got fast passes for a later time while I went to the ladies room. (This next part may be a little TMI, sorry…) It was that exact moment that the horrible luck that I’ve had all year struck again. That’s right—I started my period on the very first day of my honeymoon! Ggrrr! And of course I wasn’t prepared, so I rushed out to my husband who was patiently waiting outside the door. He gave me 50cents, and I returned to the restroom. I’ve never had to use a product dispenser before, so it took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on. (The picture instructions don’t help at all!) As soon as I turned around with my “product” a small girl looked up at her mom and said, “I want some candy, too!” :)

When we met up again, we wondered around a little more on our way to the ABC Commissary.

Well that's all I have for tonight. I hope I'm not boring you to death. The next installments will be better, I promise.

While on our way to the ABC Commissary, we passed through the courtyard with the Big Hat. There was quite a large crowd gathered there, so we stopped to rubberneck along with them. Turns out, the band Mulch, Sweat, and Shears was playing a set. I’d read about them on the DisBoards, and I had watched videos of them on youtube, but I had never seen then in person before.

Disney is so full of little details that make things just a tad more magical. We laughed so hard when we saw this written on the side of their truck:

We stood and listened to them for a few songs. They’re really good! But our stomachs were getting the best of us, so we slowly made our way around the crowd and toward the Commissary. That’s when we noticed that the “mechanic” was also their sound man.

We walked around the back side of the Big Hat and past the Great Movie Ride. Jerry was very impressed by the Chinese Theater façade. We decided that we would ride that right after we finished lunch.
When we entered the restaurant, I noticed that there was only a line formed on the right side of each cashier, so I walked up to the left side of one of the middle cashiers, knowing that there should be a line on each side. The younger girl immediately turned to me and took our order. I heard an older gentleman from the back of the other line comment, “Gee, who do they think they are? They just walked right up and skipped us.” I knew that we hadn’t done anything wrong, but I felt kind of embarrassed all the same. Thank goodness the cashier then informed him that there should be a line on each side. :)

We took our meals to a table in a corner. I had the Cordon Bleu chicken sandwich with fries, and Jerry had the cheeseburger with fries. We shared a Coke, and I prepared a bottle of water with a pack of Crystal Light koolaid for the rest of the day. The sandwiches were very tasty. As with all food at Disney, the portions were huge. Jerry finished my meal for me. While he was still eating, I broke out the park map and times guide. There was a Lights, Motors, Action! show set to start in a little less than an hour. To kill time, walked back to the Great Movie Ride and got in line. The wait wasn’t very long.

I love the smug look on the horse’s face!

SANY0031.jpg

Jerry and I were getting dirty looks from other people in line for our hugging and little kisses, so I decided to just focus on watching the movie clips. Neither of us had seen probably 90% of the movies! Haha

Our guide was awesome, and we really enjoyed the ride into the movies!

As we exited, Jerry said, “That’s my favorite ride so far!” I laughed and said that mine was definitely the bus ride over. The ride took longer than I thought it would, so we only had about 15 minutes before the auto show started. We quickly walked to the auditorium. We had decent seats, but there was a pole in part of our way.

SANY0046.jpg

I remember the first time I saw this show. I was so in awe of the talented drivers. I had no idea about all the tricks they were playing on us until they announced them. Jerry, on the other hand, knew exactly what was happening. He wasn’t tricked, and he was giving me a play-by-play. When the “good guy” red car was being chased in reverse by the 3 “bad guy” black cars, Jerry looked at me and said, “The car is built backwards.” I just stared at him. Then when the small girl from the audience drove the life-size remote control car, Jerry announced, “There’s someone on the other side of the car.” Again, I just stared at him. I’m so glad that I didn’t watch the show with him for my first time!

We really wanted to take the Backlot Tour, but we thought it would probably be packed since the Lights, Motors, Action! show just let out. We instead walked back across the park to use our Rockin’ Rollercoaster Fast Passes. On the way, we stopped and picked up Fast Passes for Tower of Terror.

SANY0050.jpg

Neither of us had ridden either ride, so we were both excited but nervous at the same time.

SANY0022-1.jpg

It was amazing! We looked at the pictures in the exit lobby, and we just pointed and laughed at each other. Jerry’s smile was so big. I, on the other hand, looked terrified with my eyes squeezed shut and my mouth wide open screaming. I spent a lot of the ride time wondering what was going to happen next. I think that the next time I ride it, I will be able to enjoy it more. Haha

After that, it was time for another bathroom stop. As I was sitting in my stall… uh-hem taking care of business, I heard the funniest conversation through the partition wall. A little girl was crying and apologizing over and over again to her mom who kept saying, “It’s okay. We all have accidents. Let’s just get you cleaned up.” The girl just kept wailing and wailing. Finally the mom had had enough and said with a loud sigh, “Just stop crying. I’m the victim here, for Heaven’s sake!” :rotfl:

Up next: our first rides on ToT and our first view of our room!
