I want to start off by saying that this is my first TR ever, so bear with me. I also really like TRs with pictures, so there should be a lot of pictures coming your way.
About us: My name is Nikki. I’m 21, a full time student, and work part time in the infant room at a preschool. My husband is Jerry. He’s 24 and a mechanic. We’ve been together for 5 years, married since October. We enjoy spending time together working on cars, playing with our dogs, and fixing up our house. I have been a Disney nut for as long as I can remember, but Jerry was never quite amused. That is, until this trip!
Without further boringness...
The Beginning of our Happily Ever After
We had the most beautiful fairytale garden wedding I could dream of. Following that was a long night of dancing and partying.
Officially Day 1 - Sunday, October 3
We were exhausted. Neither of us slept good that night because the bed in the room was so hard. And we were so wound up from the amazing day we had and looking forward to the honeymoon starting the next morning. The alarm went off at 7am so Jerry and I could pack up the truck and get on the road by 8. Jerry loaded all the presents while I packed our clothes and tidied up.
We turned in the keys and were on our way! It was so fun to see all the looks we were getting because our car was decorated by the bridesmaids the night before. That, and I was blowing bubbles out the window with the bubble gun!
Some pictures of the truck:
And on the drive down:
The trip down was very enjoyable. We had cold pizza for breakfast that was left over from the night before and just joked about having nothing to do now that the wedding was over. It only took about an hour and a half drive. The TomTom took us through a bunch of back roads, so we didn’t get to see the big Welcome signs. We actually drove in on a side road that runs just outside the Magic Kingdom. It was so cool! We pulled into the Polynesian (accidentally cutting off a guy in an SUV who proceeded to lay on the horn, give us the finger, and cuss out the window – eek) and parked in the lot right in front of the Great Ceremonial House. We left our things in the car and went into the lobby to check in. It was amazing! We were in awe as we walked over the wooden bridge and into the automatic doors. The lobby was so lush and tropical. We received leis, and I was somewhat surprised that Jerry actually put his on immediately. Although he’s a very goofy guy, he can sometimes be a party pooper. Haha!
We got in line and ended up finding out our room wouldn’t be ready for another 4 hours or so. We didn’t mind that, since we planned on heading to Hollywood Studios anyways. We left our luggage in the car but packed the backpack quickly and hopped on a bus to the Studios.
It was the craziest bus ride I’ve ever had. The driver was whipping around corners and stopping and accelerating so fast that people were flung around in their seats. We didn’t know whether to laugh or get off immediately and wait for another bus. We decided to just tough it out, and we eventually arrived safely.
We decided before the trip began that we weren’t going to run around the parks and have a schedule timed to the minute during our honeymoon. We were on vacation, for Heaven’s sake! It was time to relax. So we slowly meandered around the entrance of the park. We had a picture taken by the Photo Pass photographer then headed over to Rockin’ Rollercoaster.
There was already an hour wait for the ride, so Jerry got fast passes for a later time while I went to the ladies room. (This next part may be a little TMI, sorry…) It was that exact moment that the horrible luck that I’ve had all year struck again. That’s right—I started my period on the very first day of my honeymoon! Ggrrr! And of course I wasn’t prepared, so I rushed out to my husband who was patiently waiting outside the door. He gave me 50cents, and I returned to the restroom. I’ve never had to use a product dispenser before, so it took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on. (The picture instructions don’t help at all!) As soon as I turned around with my “product” a small girl looked up at her mom and said, “I want some candy, too!”
When we met up again, we wondered around a little more on our way to the ABC Commissary.
Well that's all I have for tonight. I hope I'm not boring you to death. The next installments will be better, I promise.
