Beagle - age 10

It was as hot as could be. Yesterday was a record breaker at 97 degrees. Today would tie the record at 95 degrees. Even with our aqua-cool scarves and cool max socks, you couldn't stand it for long.

First, we started things off at the Beach Club gift shop for breakfast. They transformed part of the gift shop to a bakery. For those of you who want to know how much things go for: Cinnamon bun - $2.59, and coffee cake - $2.19. It was nice to have a quick place to go to and they had a good selection of breakfast items - **Beagle Rated 4 paws up**.

Then we walked over to Epcot and had a ticket changed at the ticket counter. DH had earned a Disney ticket thru his Citibank card but it was a 4 day ticket which expired shortly after first use. We went ahead and exchanged this for a 10-day park hopper non-expiring ticket. The ticket lady was as helpful as could be and it cost us $108.46 in order to upgrade it. We were pretty happy to get a 10-day park hopper for that! The tickets all have finger scans now so we had to decide who was going to use the 10 day PH. DH won out.

The first order of business was Soarin'. We just walked right on. It was pretty spectacular. *Beagle Rated - Bugle-like Beagle Bark** so you know it was good! On the way out we got a FP for Soarin' for later. While we were there we did the Land Boat Ride - always interesting. Then went over to Journey Into Imagination - always very cute. We got a FP for Test Track and then we went into Innoventions to e-mail free photos of us to family members (**anything free is always rated 4 paws up**). Then we decided to do Leave A Legacy. DH and I were in 1 picture ($25.00) and DS decided to be in another picture by himself ($20.00). The pictures looked good when they showed them to us there, however, when they mailed our actual Leave A Legacy pictures to us later - not so good. I mean they are ok, but they added a lot of "texture" to our faces so it looks like we all have a bad case of chicken pox. We are happy to have the Leave A Legacy, but this chicken-pox business would have to be rated **2 paws up**. However, the whole experience of taking the picture, etc. was good and luckily there wasn't a line - otherwise it might have taken awhile.

Next, the Norway ride was a walk-on, and Mexico was a walk-on. We rode Test track with our fast passes and got another FP for later. Then we went back to Soarin' for the 2nd time and used our fast passes. I felt the motion a little bit more this time for some reason, especially on the night scenes.

We had lunch at The Land and here's what we got: Kid's Meal wok meal - $3.99 **Excellent**, Cuban Sandwich $7.49 (Beware: this is a veggie sandwich unbeknownst to DH), Rotisserie chicken meal - $8.99, fruit salad - $2.29, brownie - $2.79, and sodas - $1.99 each (which is why I always order free ice water). DH said he wished he had gotten the $3.99 kids meal because it looked a lot better than his $7.49 sandwich. It seemed kind of pricey in here to me...**The Beagle rated it was kind of like "canned food" - which is better than "kibble", but not as good as "table scraps"**.

We left Epcot and took the boat back to the Swan. After all this time, our room had not been made up yet --(?) so we headed off to the pool. I'm trying not to be judgmental when it comes to the Swan, (since the Dolphin's our favorite) so I just let this go.

Later that afternoon we headed off to Animal Kingdom and parked in the AAA lot right in front. It was hot, hot, hot and we were sweltering. We got the wristband for Extra Magic Hour, but it was so hot and crowded even with the wristband that it didn't work out too well. We did the Safari ride first and it was a walk on with only 5 other people on the bus! We should have spread out with each person taking their own row, but we didn't think about it until after the ride had gotten started. Then we did Triceratops Spin (walk on) and Dinosaur (walk on). Primieval Whirl had a 30 minute wait - so no go. We were looking forward to our favorite meal of salmon at Tusker House but it had already closed for the day. We ate at Flame Tree instead: Turkey sandwich meal - $6.79, Beef sandwich meal - $8.79, Rib meal - $8.49, one soda -$1.99 and 2 waters - free (somebody else in the family was catching on!) We love the Tusker House and Flame Tree restaurants in the Animal Kingdom. They give you really big portions and everything is really good (Beagle rated as **Grilling Out 4 Stars**).

We left Animal Kingdom and decided to take a little ride in our new air- conditioned Buick Lacrosse - drove past the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, saw the Wedding Chapel - very lovely scenery. Then we headed back to the hotel.

Epcot was still going strong so we decided to go back that evening and took the boat from the Swan. We listened to British Invasion, saw the France movie, got ice cream (sorry don't have prices) and saw Illuminations. Then we leisurely walked our way back to the Swan by way of the Yacht Club. My pedometer reading for the day was: 26787 (**Beagle rated as, "Even I'd be tuckered out!**)

A day and a half at Disney and we had already been to 3 parks!
