I sincerely want to thank all of you for the generous words of comfort and sympathy you offered me and my family. I have read every word you have written to me and I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me and my wife to know that people we don’t even know have been praying for us. LuluLovesDisney coined the phrase “refillable mug of prayer,” we really enjoyed that!

We are doing very well. God has been extraordinarily real to us in the last few weeks and we have been amazed at how much strength He has given us. That’s not to say we aren’t still sad. We are. We’re not robots. But despite the sense of loss, we maintain hope. God is good after all. His love is not capricious. And His plans are "for good and not for evil, to give [us] a future and hope."

Also to those of you (Vettechick immediately springs to mind) who think I should quit this (dumb) lawyer thing and write full time, I say, stop talking to my clients! I obviously enjoy writing and there are many days when I enjoy it more than practicing law. Maybe one day I’ll dust off that novel I started writing 19 years ago and try to get it published.

Finally, to prove my point about Disney Marketing having a bulls eye on my wallet: On March 30th, I posted on the Maelstrom thread that we were thinking about planning a trip to Disney World in late summer. The next day Free Dinning (or Dining if you prefer) was announced. Coincidence?! Please!

We are returning to the World the first week of September. But we’re not availing ourselves of the free food. We found a better deal which we couldn’t pass up. More to the point, we decided we really wanted to take another trip this year, to celebrate the good things God has done in our lives.

So sometime in late September, or early October be on the lookout for:

The Battle for My Wallet IV: Return of the Zzubs

The gurlzzz and I'll be back in September too. Since we'll be there the week after you, every time we splash down on a sweaty bus seat, we'll pause for a moment and ponder the possibility of the paterfamilias of the Zzubb clan preceding us in that spot.

ZZUB, lemme just say that I am thrilled you and your family are going back to the World. Even seriously jacked up, as some might say. Yes, I think your family is a lot like ours and I really look forward to living vicariously through your adventures. People have said it before and I will echo it here. You really have a knack for writing and making us all feel as though we are there with you, going for the gold in the Olympic Waterslide Event and getting frustrated with Suzie Helpershoes while our Powerades sit on the counter and sweat. Thanks for the laughs and tears. Yes, even tears. That Disneyland Boogaloo ending was one for the record books.

So I say dust off that old novel and sign me up.

Zzub...great trip report! My heart broke for you when reading your epilogue. While your family was dealing with your sadness we were dealing with the same thing. We were due on July 26th, and we lost the baby at 13 wks. This was our 2nd mid-term demise in 3 yrs. It was also our 3rd loss, and 3rd stillborn birth! It all stinks! We have been blessed with 2 children...a 14yo sassy girl that brings joy to my heart, and a 12yo son who is the spitting image of the man I fell in love with...how could I NOT be blessed! I know you feel the same way about your precious daughter!! Hugs to you and your family, and I am so excited you get to go back!! We went 2 wks after losing our baby, and without a doubt, going to Disney was the BEST medicine! We are going again at the end of September (2x in ONE year! ), and we are thrilled. A big round of hugs from our family to yours!

do love your reports; i haven't read them all yet cause i only gots me 24 in a day still... takes me forever when i get up at 5am and i'm still vainly trying to read at 11 at night on a night like this (translation: i'd better have my bunny buns up tomorrow bright and bushy tailed or the e.b. will have forgotten to leave a few eggs on the front yard for the same said grands..)

Everyone else has said all I wanted to say better than I could --- how enjoyable your trip report was; how heartwarming it feels to know that Disney cyberspace can be a safe community containing such good people (if we ever met at Disneyworld, it would be a part of the magic to say, );and how you have another stranger's genuine sorrow at your loss.

All I really wanted to add, in case you can derive any comfort at all from the thought, is that I still hang an extra tiny stocking on our Christmas tree for the baby we didn't have 32 years ago, and think about the loss once in awhile. But the daughter who was born is unimaginably precious to us. I can't imagine our life without her, and as many others have said, she wouldn't have come to us without the miscarriage. She's pregnant herself now, and we can't wait for this precious granddaughter to be born. For whatever this can be worth to you now (and I'm well aware that it may be too early to be worth much) everything worked out.

Great DIS-ers think alike! This is the exact same thought I had when I heard there would be a NEXT Zzub trip report!!

Zzub -- how can there be a better deal than the free dinning? Although, with the money you save with the DMVC, I 'm sure you're already saving a bundle!!

So now I can look forward to my actual Disney trip in May, Mel HappyHaunt's next neverending report on her May trip, and Zzub's September report! Life is good.

As you can see from my number of posts, I’m a part time Disboarder, but do try to read good trip reports to hear about the Disney experiences of others(and to help pass the time till our family returns).

I just finished reading your report. Many others have said things better than I can, but I too want to thank you for your gift of writing and also express my sympathy to you and your family in your time of loss.

Your writings sum up many of the thoughts a lot of us share about WDW, this form of communication, and life in general. I really liked the line about WDW vacation’s lasting a lifetime. They really do not end.

Glad to hear you’ll be going back and working on another battle for your wallet.

ZZub, I think you may as well just face up to the fact that you & your family will be going to "the World" every year and join DVC. You've already got the mug to go with it!

Of course, it's all selfishness on my part as I figure if you join DVC we've got cha locked in for a good 40 or 50 years of your trip reports! Just think! We can all grow old together...sort of.
