The battle between online checkin and room requests

Hi everyone - I think this has been discussed before, but as things change, I wanted to ask people's recent experiences. Last time I followed a discussion about it was August, so...

We are checking in to OKW on Sunday, and have requested rooms near HH (as we always do and have been lucky most of the time -- knock wood).

That said - here's my dilemma. We are staying at Coronado over the weekend, and would like to possibly check out early and go check in at OKW in the morning before heading to parks for the morning. I have had great luck with morning checkins three times now when I have indicated the early arrival time on my online checkin information.

BUT what would be weighed more heavily when our rooms were assigned -- getting guests into ready rooms for an early checkin, or meeting the room requests?

Aren't the rooms near HH a booking category now? Has this changed? When we stayed at OKW last summer we booked a room in the HH category.

Hmmm...my ressies do say "DLX Studio near HospHouse" and "Ded.2BR near Hosp.House"

I've been booking it as a room request for (cough-cough) years now, and maybe I didn't notice that it's now an actual category. I just usually say, "We'd like to request a room near the HH."

When did that happen? Can anyone confirm?

Your reservation is for "near hospitality house". You will be in buildings 11 to 14 or 23 to 26. Do you have 2 rooms? If so, you probably want to request that they be in the same building or near each other. It's a pretty good distance between 11 and 26.

Thanks, Debbie. So then my original question is moot, then? We will be in those bldgs no matter what, and only the checkin time is the crapshoot?

And yes, we did request that the two room are near to each other.

Don't know exactly when it happened (has been for some time now) but it is definitely a booking category requiring no extra points. If you requested HH location and that it what is indicated on your confirmation then that is what you will get no matter what time you check in. It's just luck if your room is ready early.
