the bathrooms need fixing at ssr

I certainly see your point Chuck, and to be fair I agree, but it just seems to me that there must be supervisor somewhere near by who might be more informed as to what is being done about it.
It takes three seconds to walk over and acknowledge the individual reporting the problem and assure them something is being done...even if it's "We have another door on order. It should be here tomorrow" or whatever.

I tend to doubt what was actually told to the CM's anyway. I know that several people, myself included have asked if she requested a different room due to noise, but got no response, yet she responds quite a bit about being 28 years old. :rotfl: She probably just told them it was a mess and they called housekeeping, if she reported it at all.

How can you suggest this is a serious problem? Since the door is missing (i.e. not hanging in pieces from the frame), I think this shows a maintenance issue being addressed while still providing some washroom facilities.

I would like to say, that I the reason SSR cannot close that restroom, is because that is the only restroom in the Carriage House. That restroom serves both restaurants, and the lobby.

The next closest is in the Spa, downstairs or by the pool but closer to Community Hall.

To have restaurant patrons have to go that far to use the facilities, is bad for business.

We just left SSR on January 8, 2008 and I used that restroom several times during our stay. It did not look like that.

It is also a fairly large restroom with at least 8 stalls.

We are at SSR at least every 3-4 months on average and spend 90% of our time at the resort, so I am very famililiar with the layout and amenities.

If it is a large restroom with several stalls available, then that tends to lend weight to the theory that the damage was caused by an ECV. If the OP was looking for the handicap restroom, as many with young children do, I can see how this damage would affect the OP, and why she wanted that stall rather than having to select one of the smaller standard stalls. And the handicap stalls would be the most likely to be damaged by wayward ECV.

Here's what I'm not getting in this thread.

The ladies room at the Carriage House has a dozen stalls plus one very large handicapped stall in the back. Only one shown has a missing door. So how are the other 11 doing?

I think what everyone is missing, or not missing anymore is this appears to be blown way out of proportion. Obviously the OP needed something to complain about and when she found it she made sure to take lots of pics to support her complaints. Probably tried to get half her points refunded due to the substandard conditions....

OK, I will start being nice.....

That is NOT the handicapped stall. You can see the commode through the door on the photo.

The handicapped stall is in the back around the corner. It is the size of approximately 3 stalls. The extra wide door swings in, the sink is to the immediate left and the commode beside that in the far left corner. You would not be able to see the commode through the opening from the angle of the picture.

I noticed in January that the HA door was a bit snug though. I had to pry it open with my foot on the way out.

Well #2 is a little depressed because of all the attention #5 is getting because of the missing door.

#7 is notably upset because the wallpaper is coming undone above him.

#3 is still wishing someone would hit him with an ECV, he needs a facelift bad!

And #1 of course is just happy to be closest to the door!

Collectively they all seem content, although are a bit apprehensive about the rush during the Half Time show of the Super bowl!:lmao:

BRAVO! At last, someone with perspective.

But, how are 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 doing? They are conspicuously quiet. Sulking?

Yes, I was just about to post that by the photos, it doesn't look like the handicap stall.

However, this photo where it attaches to the wall:

is not the same wall bracket that shows in this photo as there is not apparent tile damage in the first photo.

So something involved more than one stall wall, or we are looking at photos of opposite sides of the same between stall wall. It still looks like something heavy, like an ECV or perhaps even a housekeeping cart, hit these walls quite forcefully.

I just scanned this thread quick because I found it interesting and I can't help wondering why the OP took all the pictures?
Whenever I go into a totally unacceptable restroom I either:
#1. Walk back out quickly and find another no matter the distance.
or
#2. Close my eyes :headache: use the facilities and get out as fast as possible and never look back!
Maybe I'm odd but I would never spend the time looking in corners and under toilets to find everything wrong and THEN take pictures:rotfl2: . I am a DVC owner and I like to see my interests in tip-top shape, but I'm also on vacation and know Disney takes care of its own by just looking around everywhere else.

To the OP- did you send these pictures to DVC (sorry if this was already asked/answer) ?

I do understand not wanting to be by a firehouse with a little one napping. When you're not traveling with little ones you tend not to hear all the backround noise that some how babies channel into. So after 1 or 2 trips with kids I learned to travel with a sound machine  to drown out those sounds!

I don't know if it is the same stall or not....the damage to the tile is mostly behind the bracket, from a distance you wouldn't see it very well, because the hole only extends out a fraction of an inch. In actuality the tile isn't so much as damaged, as a whole in it to put the screw (with wall anchor) into the wall and secure the bracket. The problem there is that it appears the wall anchor has come loose or the screw was loosened and not tightened after work was doen. Really a minor problem. I think the close zoom of the picutre makes it look like it is a huge problem.

I'm not sure what baffles me more:

Taking pictures of bathroom walls/doors while on vacation;

Starting a thread about it and posting the pictures;

Or that the bathroom stall/door thread is 6 pages long.

Weird.....

But there is also another bracket or hinge mounted in front of the wall mount in the second photo that isn't present in the top pic.

Good eye Chuck....didn't catch that! Wow, it is a really slow day on the boards, this thread is 6 pages long and we are now analyzing the photos of the "destroyed" bathroom to try and piece the mystery together.

I don't care if this is a troll post...it has helped my day at work go by a little quicker :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

7 pages of postings so far about one of the bathroom stalls at SSR...

Remind me again why I spend time on the DIS? :rotfl:

I have an alternative agenda in keeping this going, I hope the hatred of SSR continues and gives me more availability....LOL

But yet I just read the whole thing!

What's that say about me?:scared:
