The BALD and the BEAUTIFUL take a road trip to see THE mouse **FINISHED**

Wow, those are really great pictures... especially the parade ones and that one of Minnie's statue turned out really nice! Reya is SO cute with Wall E and dancing in the streets!! :goodvibes

It's great to see the HM all dressed up.. I just LOVE that! I definitely want to plan a trip to DL this time of year! WOW With the NO LINES! :scared1: :worship:

Did you like Buzz better than the one at WDW? I thought the one at WDW was too hard since you couldn't remove the guns.
Huh? I never really thought about it. I guess you're right the one at Disneyland is better. My brother whooped everybodys butts, but I think that's just because he spends half of his life playing video games.:confused3

OK I just got home this morning and haven't even showered after our flight yet but I found your TR and just had to get up to speed :goodvibes
I LOVED LOVED LOVED the highway 1 drive too, so gorgeous :cloud9:
Cute BAB pics, I actually used to work there, it was a lot of fun (as far as retail goes anyway!) and I got the same Disneyland set for my bear Cornelius when we were at DTD :)
Looks like you all had an awesome time at DL, I think I *gasp* liked it even more than WDW, it's so small and cute :lovestruc

WELCOME HOME!!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful time!

Yes, the drive was so beautiful. ((And scary))

BAB was super fun, but way too expensive. Blow's my mind that I spent $50.00 for a bear and stroller. But it's one of only two things we bought for her on this trip, so it's not so bad I guess. :rolleyes1 She had a really great time too, so that makes it all worth it.

I'm definately a bigger WDW fan, but I still absolutely love DL! It was so nice to have everything there in one spot and within walking distance to our hotel. I'm equally in love with Florida and California however. I would really love to live in Cali. sooooo much to see and do.

I guess not having kids and never watching commercials (gotta love DVR) makes me a little slow with knowing movies...haha.

When Wall-e comes out on dvd, WATCH it. So adorable and funny.

Wow! You guys are having a great first day! (Except for that elusive Discover Card! :sad2: ) It looks like a beautiful day, wait times are minimal, AND you got dreamed! :woohoo:

I completely agree with you on Space Mountain - it puts WDWs to shame!

It was an awesome day, and our longest wait time was 15 minutes for Peter Pan, so you can't beat that!

We went on SM at WDW in January. It was the first time on it for both me and the hubby. It was the first ride we went to when we got to the magic kingdom. We grabbed a fast pass and hopped in the line because it was short.

We did NOT like it at all. It was painful and not any fun. We gave away our fast passes.

It just seems so lame compared to the one at Disneyland. I now have no regrets about being too chicken to go on it as a child...haha.

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever ride the one at WDW again, it's very uncomfortable. The one at DL wins hand's down, I Loved it!

I love all the updates!! Great pics of the parade. Mine always turn out crappy. Reya's dress is adorable! And I love Wall-E too. He's too cute. We all went to see that movie over the summer and the whole family loved it.

Thank you! My night pictures never seem to turn out. :confused3

Wall-e is my new favorite Disney Character at the momment. I really hope they add more things pertaining to him at the parks soon, I could'nt even find a pin to give to Reya while we were there.

Like I said it was Reya's first movie that she sat through so it was def. a family hit. We tried taking her to see Ratatoullie when it came out, but she only made it about 1/4 of the way through.

Your Fairytale Town photos actually make me want to visit! :rotfl: It's strange, because I know it doesn't look that good in person! The slide that came out of the barn was my nieces absolute favorite! They probably spent a good 45mins-1hr on it. I was happy when more kids came along and booted them off. :lmao:

It looks like you had a great time so far! Congratulations on your fast passes! And way to make a moms day by letting her child see the parade up close :wizard:

Disneyland magic is something else! :goodvibes

Fairytale town was so much fun for DD. What a perfect little place for little kids to visit. Seems like a great place for birthday parties too, wish we had something like that near here.

I always cry during the parades. LOL!! I hope it's not just me ?!?!?

I've seen tons of photos of that parade. And I've seen bits and pieces of it while walking by. But we've never actually sat down and watched it. I think we might have to do it this time though. It really looks cute.

Ohhhh, you really need to see it! I was worried that Reya would be freaked because all of the characters but she loved it.

Thank you!! I'm really glad you like them!

We always try to plan our Disney trips in September because of the crowds, unfortunately we only have a couple more years of being able to do that, since it won't be possible when Reya starts school. :(

I really miss Disneyland in the Fall. The flowers and colors are so pretty at that time. We'll probably only go in the winter from now on though. We just hate hot weather and crowds.

What was the weather like while you were there?

It wasn't too bad except one day. ummmmmm I think it was on the 25th?!? It was soooooooooooooooo HOT!! Worse then Florida in the summer hot! I could hardly stand it and it gave me a terrible headache. Other then that it was great. Being out there totally made me realize just how dry it is here in Colorado, it didn't feel that humid until you looked at my hair. :lmao: I had a bad hair day every single day.

I found this absolutely perfect photo spot in New Orleans Square. I desperately wanted to get a great picture of all the kids together, but it just wasn’t possible to get them to all sit still and look at the camera at the same time:sad2: . I couldn’t imagine being a children’s photographer, it would give me such a spliting headache. :rotfl2:

2008tripcanon075.jpg

2008tripcanon144.jpg

Next Dad, Chad, and Linda went to ride SPLASH MOUNTAIN. Meanwhile DH, SIL and I took the kids on Pooh’s acid trip!pooh: All three of them absolutely LOVED it. Especially Alyssa who said it was by far her favorite ride thus far!

Disneyland096.jpg

Once we were finished we waited for the other three to get back from riding splash mountain in a nice shaded area next to pooh’s corner. I also tried really hard to get a good picture of DD here next to the honey pots, but it just wasn’t happening, so this is the best I could come up with.:sad2:

2008tripcanon145.jpg

When the others got back they were SOAKED! Especially poor DB whom was sitting up in front. I personally was looking forward to getting wet since it was so HOT out.

So off we went………..

splashmountainDL.jpg

DH sat up front and I sat right behind him. This pleased me because that meant I could duck down behind him to shield my face as much as possible. Sadly we got soaked about 30 seconds into the ride. :rotfl2: By the end we were really, really drenched. Is it just me or is the one at WDW much better and longer? :confused3

Anway ..............

While we were gone the others got to meet Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore.

Roadtrip459.jpg

Roadtrip461.jpg

By this time we were extremely wet and extremely hungry so we went to Hungry Bear to eat some lunch. I had sworn that I had eaten there before and had enjoyed the Chicken Sandwich but OMG it was sooooooo gross! I ate as much of it as I could just because I was starving and I’m also not one to complain so I just sucked it up. :sad2: Chad and Lori brought their lunch with them and everybody else ordered the burgers which they said were just okay.

During lunch we were trying to figure out what we all wanted to do next, so we had decided that we would head over to NEMO to see how outrageous the line was. If it was too long Dad and Linda were still going to wait but I wasn’t going subject the kids to waiting over 30 minutes, so if that were the case we would take the kids over to TOONTOWN..

IMG_1183.jpg

:scared1: WOW!!! The line was only 15 minutes! :woohoo: I had prepared myself long before we left on our trip that I wasn’t going to get a chance to ride this because of hearing all the horror stories of how most people were waiting 60-90 minutes at a time.

DLR4thday025.jpg

I really, really, really enjoyed this ride and am So happy that I got a chance to ride it. The kids absolutely loved it as well.

:fish:

Since it was Dad and Linda’s last day at DL they wanted to make sure they were able to ride California Screamin, so we headed towards DCA so we could all ride it together. Once we arrived Dad wanted to buy the kids their Ears first, so we stopped at the Greetings from California store to pick them out.

2008tripcanon084.jpg

Logan got the Pirate Ears, Reya got the Princess Ears, and Alyssa didn’t want any so she got a cute headband instead.

To be continued.......

NEMO was15 minutes????

OMG woman.. that's it.. you are by far the luckiest DL visitor that I've heard of since 2001!

WOWOWOWOWOW

I'm so glad you went on it (remember, I was rootin' for ya!)

:goodvibes

NICE!

NICE!
:rotfl2: I know I could hardly believe it myself! I was in shock when I saw that posted time.

And YES, I do remember your encouragment on riding this ride. :) I actually thought of you before I got on, knowing you would freak knowing how short the wait was.

I can't believe Nemo was only a 15 minute wait!!!! I don't think I saw it at less that an hour the entire time we were there! I'm sooooooooo jealous, stupid school forces us to go during peak times :sad2:

And, yes, I thought the Splash Mountain at DL was shorter too. It also seemed to have a quite a few stretches where there wasn't much to look at. WDWs is much better IMO.

I haven't been on Splash Mountain at WDW since I was younger so I can't remember if it's better or not.

That spot in New Orleans Square is one of my favorites in the park.

I've only been on Nemo once, not long after it opened. And we waited forever for it. You are lucky!!

So during this trip I got my Dad and Linda into the whole pin-trading thing. My dad was really taking a liking to all the Tinkerbell pins, so I found this super cute one that tied in his love for Halloween as well. While he wasn’t looking I popped into a store to buy one for both he and Reya.

8ec9_11.jpg

We then headed our way towards California Screamin’

2008tripcanon186.jpg

2008tripcanon188.jpg

2008tripcanon187.jpg

It was only a 15 minute wait so Dad and Linda went first, followed by the rest of us.

2008tripcanon160.jpg

Lori and Chad absolutely LOVED it! I have to admit this is one of my favorites as well, it’s such a smooth ride.

2008tripcanon158.jpg

We then decided to make our way over to a Bug’s Land area. This was a first for me because I’ve never had a reason to visit before.

2008tripcanon184.jpg

I fell in LOVE with it. Everything was so cute and well themed from the benches to the bathroom signs.

2008tripcanon176.jpg

2008tripcanon170.jpg

2008tripcanon173.jpg

2008tripcanon179.jpg

2008tripcanon180.jpg

2008tripcanon182.jpg

It was almost closing time so there was barely anyone there. The kids saw the little water play area and had the time of there lives. It was so nice too because there wasn’t a million other kids running around pushing and shoving their way around the smaller children.

2008tripcanon166.jpg

Roadtrip619.jpg

Roadtrip625.jpg

Roadtrip627.jpg

We let the kids run around for about 30 minutes until it was time to leave the park. They were soaked from head to toe so all of us except Dad and Linda decided to head back to the hotel early for the night.

So we sadly bid farewell to Bugs Land and DCA for the day.

2008tripcanon183.jpg

Dad and Linda hung out at DL for awhile longer and the rest of us went to the hotel to relax, do laundry, and eat pizza.

END OF DAY 8 :tinker:

____________________________________________________________________________

OHHH yeah I forgot to mention…..

There was this really weird lady that walked up to us on our way out of the park wanting to know if we would give her our Dream Fast Passes. We of course told her “NO”, but she was really pushy and rude about it saying that she would trade a couple of hats she just bought for them. We of course told her “NO” once again. She then proceeded to TELLus that our kids didn’t need theirs so WHY couldn’t we give them to her?!?! I couldn’t believe this weirdo….. Lori became really blunt with her and said “What don’t you get lady, we’re not giving you our fast passes” we finally just walked away... She looked at us with her jaw wide open as we did. LOL!!

Okay, really it's the end of day 8 now ............... :wave2:

So during this trip I got my Dad and Linda into the whole pin-trading thing. My dad was really taking a liking to all the Tinkerbell pins, so I found this super cute one that tied in his love for Halloween as well. While he wasn’t looking I popped into a store to buy one for both he and Reya.

8ec9_11.jpg

 :yay: Where did you buy that???? I must have one. :cool1:

Actually, I think you should just give me the one you bought for Reya. Yeah, I want it. Just give it to me. She doesn't really need it. I'll give you a dollar for it. Come on....

:rolleyes1

:rotfl: Am I giving you flash backs to that psycho lady?!?!?! :rotfl2: Seriously, what the heck was that about??? Some people need to up their meds or something. What was she thinking? Sorry you had to deal with that. I'd have been ready to call security or something. Geesh.

Oh, and that is a cute pin, but I'll happily buy my own if you give me a clue where to look. ;)

I love all of the candy corn decorations. So cute!

The Bugs land area is so cute. We don't have kids but I still like walking through there.

What a crazy lady wanting your fast passes. Some people are just looney.

This day started out really sad and depressing for me because I had to say goodbye to my Daddy. It always breaks my heart in two when I have to do so. We only get to see each other twice a year on average which isn’t nearly enough, especially now that I have a kid.

Anyway, he wanted us to come to come by his room before we walked over to DL for the day, because he had a couple of gifts for the kiddos.

2008tripcanon192.jpg

2008tripcanon194.jpg

After they opened their presents we all said our goodbyes to Linda and Dad. Hugs were passed around and a few tears were shed.
((I want to cry right now just thinking about it))

:grouphug:

We decided to split up from my DB and his family for a couple of hours because they were going to take Alyssa to the Princess Fantasy Faire. I have to admit it was a little nice to spend some alone time with just the 3 of us.

:dance3:

As we headed down Main Street I was looking in all the windows along the way, and totally fell in Love with these Mickey and Minnie pumpkins.

2008tripcanon196.jpg

The first ride of the day was the Astro Orbiter. Reya absolutely LOVED it.

2008tripcanon201.jpg

2008tripcanon200.jpg

Second ride was Buzz Lightyear. Reya sat with me while DH was by himself. DD managed to score 100 points all by herself. And I managed to somehow beat Will’s score for the first time EVER! LOL!

wdw3032.jpg

I think it’s important to inform you that the weather was BEYOND miserable on this day. It felt like an inferno outside. I could hardly stand it, plus it was giving me a terrible migraine. But I wasn’t going to let that ruin my time, so we headed over to ToonTown for the opening.

2008tripcanon208.jpg

We went straight to the Roger Rabbit ride.

2008tripcanon223.jpg

2008tripcanon209.jpg

I don’t think I was a very big fan of this ride?!?!, It‘s okay, but WAY to jerky and that was without me spinning the car around..

2008tripcanon212.jpg

I absolutely love ToonTown it’s filled with so many cute photo opportunities. It just sucked because it was soooo freakin’ hot out I could hardly stand being in the sun.

2008tripcanon214.jpg

Aww... thanks!

Sounds like another great time was had by all. We didn't spend much time in the Bugs Life land as the girls are a little older and it was HOT that day

Your baby girl takes the CUTEST pictures. She is so expressive. I know you say it's tough but you sure get some good shots! My favorite this time was her lifting hte heavy weight in ToonTown She looks just she should be hanging out at the gym! So cute :thumbsup2

I always hate saying goodbye to my family (all in So Cal without ME). It stinks. :sad1:

Great update, thanks :)

Wow you were so lucky with the crowds, DL was pretty busy most of the time when we were there (surprisingly, *** I thought it was a quiet time of year!) We only used one FP though, for Indy :)
I love the dress Reya is wearing on the parade pics, i'd totally wear it if they made it in adult sizes! I love her expressions in pics too, I bet she could do kid modelling/TV ads :cutie:
We didn't make it to the Bug's Life part of DCA but the theming does look great, maybe next time :)

I let Reya play in the RR water fountain for a little while to cool off.

2008tripcanon219.jpg

2008tripcanon221.jpg

Then we checked out the TT post office.

2008tripcanon226.jpg

2008tripcanon224.jpg

Roadtrip079-1.jpg

Reya saw an empty car, so she jumped right in!

2008tripcanon228.jpg

2008tripcanon229.jpg

Next we went to visit Minnie Mouse’s house. ::MinnieMo Wow, I really think she got shafted here at Disneyland. For one Mickey’s is much bigger and second the one she owns back at WDW is twice as large.

2008tripcanon231.jpg

2008tripcanon232.jpg

Reya got a little hungry so she raided the fridge, luckily her favorite food is cheese.
((Just like her Momma))

2008tripcanon236.jpg

2008tripcanon234.jpg

We then attempted to visit Mickey but there was a line of people waiting to get in, so we figured we’d come back later.::MickeyMo
((Sadly we never got a chance though))

2008tripcanon240.jpg

Roadtrip074.jpg

However we did get a chance to visit Donald’s Boat!:donald:

2008tripcanon241.jpg

His mailbox was by far my favorite.

Yeah, the SM at WDW is def. much better. The one at DL seemed to go REALLY fast too, I couldn't enjoy it because it was going so fast. I was really disapointed because it's usually my favorite ride.

I haven't been on Splash Mountain at WDW since I was younger so I can't remember if it's better or not.

That spot in New Orleans Square is one of my favorites in the park.

I am VERY lucky! The wait times were unbelievable the entire time we were there.

 Bugs Land was so adorable, I Loved it. The chew chew train was my favorite ride there. ((More on that later))

Thanks for the comments on Reya! It makes my heart swell everytime people tell me how cute she is. I should post some of her "bloopers" shots, you'll laugh your butt off. I can't wait until she can follow simple commands when I want her to pose for a picture. :lmao:

I hate more then anything to say goodbye to my dad. It was really hard this time just because of loosing my mom recently. Makes me realize how suddenly things can happen and I won't have the time that I need with him.

Wow you were so lucky with the crowds, DL was pretty busy most of the time when we were there (surprisingly, *** I thought it was a quiet time of year!) We only used one FP though, for Indy :)

I'm sorry the crowds were so busy for you, that's sorta surprising since we were there close to the same time. But being that you only used 1 FP it couldn't have been that bad.:thumbsup2

I love Reya's dress too. They had it in red aslo, but not in her size, it would have made a cute minnie mouse type dress.

Thanks for the comments on Reya too, like I said I love hearing them. I can't wait until her hair really grows in, she's going to be even more beautiful.

Bug's Land area was freaking cute, but there really isn't any reason for adults to be there except for the 3-d show. ((which is awesome by the way)) I really like that there is only one way in and way way out too.

 :yay: Where did you buy that???? I must have one. :cool1:

I knew you would like that pin! You can pretty much buy it anywhere on Disney property. And NOOOO you can't have Reya's you crazy crazy lunatic. LOL!!

Yeah, that lady was really freaky. At first we thought she had to be joking, but soon realized that she was just insane.

I love all of the candy corn decorations. So cute!

The Bugs land area is so cute. We don't have kids but I still like walking through there.

What a crazy lady wanting your fast passes. Some people are just looney.

Very looney!!! How's the pup doing?:confused3

Unfortunatly we didn't get a chance to ride it. :sad2: The waits were always so long, and I just won't wait much more than about 30 minutes. I heard that it is basically the same ride as the one in Epcot, the vehicle is just different (subs as opposed to clamshells), so I didn't feel too bad missing it, it also gives me a reason to go back!

Very looney!!! How's the pup doing?:confused3

That's so nice of you to ask about my dog. I think she's on the mend. Did I tell you she has kennel cough? I can't remember. But I think she's getting better. She's on two antibiotics - one for kennel cough and one for her stomach. She's been on a bland diet of rice and hamburger since Friday but I'm starting to gradually add in her new dog food. Fingers crossed that her stomach can handle it.
