The BALD and the BEAUTIFUL take a road trip to see THE mouse **FINISHED**

Our second stop for the day was a lovely REST AREA near Laramie Wyoming. We got out to stretch our legs and explore the little museum and Lincoln memorial they had on site. Somehow me managed to spend a ½ hour there. But I got some really cute pictures of Reya!

Our Third stop was another REST AREA to stretch our legs out. DH and DD played tag and ran around for awhile, while I took a brisk 10 minute walk.

Our fourth and last REST stop for the day was a place called “Little America” .. We refueled the car and checked out the gift shop. Reya fell in love with this cowboy hat she tried on, I didn’t end up buying it for her though because it was a tad too big. Instead we let her fill a little bag up with some gemstones of her choice. It came in a cute velvet drawstring bag, with WYOMING printed on the front.

Up next …… We finally make it to Utah after 7 hours of driving.

It just amazes me how much Reya and your DH look alike. They are so cute together! :goodvibes

I couldn't figure out why Laramie sounded so familiar so I had to Google it. Then I remembered. :sad2: So sad.
But it looks like a nice place you stopped in, and I love the scenery!

Road trips are so much fun!!! I loved our drives from CA to MI and back. Now I want to do another one. :car:

:lmao: I know they're like twins. There is no doubt they are father and daughter.

Wyoming was soooo boring to drive through. I think the scenery we saw there at the rest stop was the best we encountered. It's georgous here in Park City though. It's been raining and kinda cold so we didn't get to do much exploring. Luckily our room and hotel is really nice we've been having a good time just hanging here.

Road trips are a blast! This is Reya's 5th and she's only 2. I'm not a great flyer so it's a good thing I love road driving.

Yay! Glad to hear you arrived safely at your first destination! This live TR is going to be so fun!

I love the picture you took of yourself from this morning - you've got that bloodshot, glassy eyed look that comes from lack of sleep! I'm always like that the night before a trip, I can never sleep - my mind is just spinning - glad to see I'm not the only one!
Thank you!;)

LOL!! That's so funny that you noticed my eyes. I kinda looked like I'm a little :smokin:

The lack of sleep in hitting me like a ton of bricks right now. I think I'm going to hit the hay. This bed is super comfortable. :cloud9:

Well friends, as much as I would love to finish up my TR for the day...... I don't think I can keep my eyes open much longer. DH is already snoring next to me in bed. I'll post tomorrow when I have time. We have a LONG 10 hour drive to Sacramento in the morning so it probably won't be until late in the evening. So be on the lookout. :hippie:

I'm about to post the 2nd installment of my first day. I just wanted to warn everyone that I will have lots and lots and lots of pictures during this trip report, so I hope your all prepared. It's only the first day and I have over 100 pictures. LOL! It's hard choosing which ones to leave out. :confused3

As I said before...post all of them! Haha! Seriously though...post as many as you want. I love photos!

That photo is fantastic! You should frame that one!

I would love road trips but my bladder is the size of a pea. I have to stop at least once every 1 and a half to 2 hours. So it makes road trips difficult. We can't take scenic routes because there's nowhere to stop. Some day we want to rent a small RV that has a bathroom. That would be awesome.

I wish I could do a live report but we don't have internet access at our hotel and I don't think we're even bringing the computer. But I'm really loving yours so far! It's like we're all on the trip with you! It's great!! Hope you get a good nights sleep!

Like Jane said, that pic is DEFINITELY a showstopper! Wow, that is cute!

I love your TR enthusiasm... soo much fun and great pics, too. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Sleep will probably feel SO good tonight! Hope you can rest.

Reya is absolutely adorable! I love that outfit! You are giving me some fantastic ideas for outfits for my DD. She is a little younger than Reya. In the first pic, you look like I do right now, I got a little over 5 hours of sleep, but I am not use to getting up this early for work
Did you have a bad reaction to the greasy food at BK? I havent had any fast food in months, one day I stop by to get McDonalds, and got really sick off the food, wondering if my stomach wouldnt handle the grease. Just a thought. Hope that wont detain you from all the delicious food that is still to come in DL! Cant wait for more! Have fun driving today!

Good Morning everyone! The :sunny: is shining here in beautiful Park City Utah!

I'll get back to all your comments later, plus I still need to finish up yesterdays portion of my TR. Just wanted to say "HI"

I had a WONDERFUL night sleep last night so I'm refreshed and ready to go. We're running late today however, my alarm clock didn't go off.:scared1:and I woke up at 7:30 instead of 6:30 But no big deal, I needed the extra sleep. :thumbsup2 I'll try to update ya'll tonight! :hippie:

Thanks, I really love that photo. Once I downloaded it I said “”geezzz that’s a framer”

Well you would do great with us on a road trip then. We always stop 1- 1 ½ hours, just because we don’t want poor Reya to have a breakdown. She is such a great traveler. Or hey, you could always buy diapers.

I’m glad your liking the TR…. I’m having fun sharing everything with you all.

Thanks darling! And thank you for reading.

Thank you! It’s always nice to hear when people tell me how cute DD and her clothes are.

I got plenty of sleep last night and I still looked like I did in the first picture. LOL! I bought some visine today so I don’t look drunk or stoned.

I didn’t’ get sick from the food, I just felt kinda icky. Felt bloated, greasy, and tired after I ate it. I ate some arbys today too and felt the same way. So I’m going to avoid fast food for the rest of the trip if possible. I can’t wait for the disney food though. YAY!!!

A live TR is pretty remarkable. I'm in awe that you find time to update it while traveling.

Random nerd reference from me. Based on observing your signature and the fact that you stayed in Park City, you were not very far away from the place where the author of Twilight went to college. (Okay, so I'm also a BYU alum and it makes me swell to see a fellow Cougar do well).

Deanna, about the food, I know it's hard while traveling. When we went from MI to NV, ugh, I never wanted to see another fast food place again.

But have you ever tried the McDonald's Asian Grilled Chicken salad? It's really good, not very high in calories, and might be a nice choice for you if you guys can find a McDonalds. Just a thought. :) They also have a Southwestern one that's good too.

September 17th- Day 1 continued....

We arrived at the Marriott Mountain Side Resort around 3:30 PM.

Roadtrip148.jpg

Check-in was quick and easy, we were given room # 7750

Roadtrip160.jpg

Our room was very nice and roomy. It came with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room, dinning room, 2 Tvs, dvd player, mud room, glass shower, and a large garden tub in the bedroom.

Roadtrip154.jpg

After we checked out our new digs for the night we decided to take a stroll around the resort . Unfortunately the weather was a little less then desirable and we didn’t stay out too long because it started to rain. :umbrella:

As we were making our way back into the lobby of the hotel, we ran across these large checker/chess boards. Reya was instantly attracted to them and spent a good 30 mins playing around. I took tons and tons of pictures with her lining up all the chess pieces, so I thought I’d just share a FEW. She was not happy when I told her that it was time to go inside because mommy and daddy were cold. :cold:

Since it was too cold outside, we decided to just head back to the room to relax for the rest of the night.

We ordered take out from a local Mexican restaurant called Baja Cantina. The food was DELISH.... I love me some good ol' mexican grub. Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmmm

After we ate our dinner we just relaxed and watched some television in our comfy pjs.

Reya finally fell asleep around 11:00pm and I followed soon after. The bed was sooooooo comfortable and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. :cloud9:

Overall it was a great first day. :woohoo:

Day 2 up next .............

Well it hasn’t been easy updating, but it sure is fun…. I think the TR could be a lot more detailed if I waited but I think it’s fun to share everything as I’m living it. Something “DIFFERENT”

It’s funny that you mentioned that about Stephenie Meyer. When I was at our hotel last night I walked into the lobby and she was on an episode of Ellen. I stopped dead in my tracks and had to watch. I knew she was from Utah and went to college there but not sure exactly where. She’s such an amazing person and writer, I was honored to meet her when she visited Denver. I was surprised at how down to earth she was.

I’m happy to have you along for the ride…… stay tuned for more!

Your hotel was really nice! I love it. And I love the scenic shots in the background. I'm sorry you were cold but honestly, it's nice to know somewhere it's actually Fall weather and not still in the mid 90's.

Cute pics of Reya playing chess. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll go with a salad if I have no other choice. lol. I'm so burned out on salads, that's one thing I was looking forward too before we left on the trip. I could eat whaterever I wanted and wouldn't have to worry about too many greens. :) Mexican seems to be my biggest pit fall so far. We're having Mexican food tonight, plus we're going to On the Border tomorrow because my step-sister works there. :woohoo:

Reya is the cutest thing ever! She is so adorable!

Looks like you've visited some places!

I'm looking forward to reading and seeing more! :goodvibes
