Usually I have a list made out, double checked and then typed. I am a bit OCD. My husband thinks I'm crazy! I don't want to and never have forgotten anything. Once I finish our pirate costumes I will start working on it. Usually it is done by now but I have been really busy with work and trying to get swimsuit ready.pirate:

Ugh! I have the packing list done and am trying my hardest NOT to start packing!! I have a lot of stuff already together in bags in my closet. I figure if I can just hold off another week or so then I can at least get the suitcases out!! :dance3:

I had to break out my largest suitcase. We normally travel with just carry ons. I guess it will come in handy when I empty the FE gifts and use it for souvenirs. My secret is to bring one pair of sandals that go with every dinner outfit. For the first time I am bringing a mini flashlight for my purse. I have been on numerous cruises without a hitch but I want to be prepared in case of a power outage. Since you can bring your own alcohol on board I don't have to sneak it on. We always bring our favorite snacks on board too. We have never found a cruise that had what we craved. Seems it is hard to find potato chips at night.

I'm like khorn and tinkmt... I usually write out a list and double-check it as I put stuff in the suitcase. I found 2 really good lists online too that I printed out for ideas... I put them in the 4shared account too. One Excel spreadsheet (Cruise Packing and Tip List) and a pdf called UltimateCruisePackingList.

I have a big 'ol DVC tote full of magnets and a whiteboard and power strips and a shoe hanger and all kinds of random crap too that I have to organize.

Gimme a few weeks and I'm sure I'll have some overflowing bags to share with you all!

I'm a bit OCD as well. I have a list that I constantly check and revise. I have a packing list in Excel that I go back after each cruise and make notes on as to whether or not the item was used or not, and then revise for the upcoming cruise as necessary (and yes, I have one from the Caribbean and one for Alaska since they require different clothing).

As I was packing for Scotland I had another suitcase open in which I threw my cruise specific items that I knew I wanted to take but that I didn't need for Scotland (like swimsuits, sandals, etc). When I get back from this trip some items will be tossed into the cruise suitcase as well (actually, the suitcase I have with me will become the cruise suitcase so I'll repack what is in the other smaller suitcase into the one I'm currently using).

I'm not actually packed for the cruise but I've a good start toward it.

One of my tips, in addition to making notes on the packing list, is that I put everything out that I plan to take, then pare away from that. In the beginning I used to take away about a third, but now after being on several cruises my list has become pretty consistent.

We've just two of us in our cabin so we don't use the over the door shoe hanger recommended by many. I use a plastic shopping bag for my dirty clothes, which goes in my suitcase under the bed every day or so - keeps down the clutter and makes repacking at the end of the cruise much easier.

I like a small flashlight, which I keep on the lamp table next to the bed. Easy to find and useful at night after DW goes to sleep, and especially in the early morning when I get up to do my 3 mile walk and she sleeps in. I also take a few clothespins: useful for hanging wet swimsuits up to dry.

We use post-it notes to leave messages for each other. We identify a place to leave the notes for each other and check there when we return.

We used to take different colored hi-lighters but since we usually attend most things together I just take one now. If one of us is going to something that the other isn't, it's pretty obvious (Bingo is hi-lighted. that must be for DW since I'm not interested in it.)

I used to take a power strip but no longer do so. About the only electronics I need to charge up are my iPod and Kindle, and I can do that while at dinner or ashore when I don't really need them.

I doubt I will even start packing until the afternoon before we leave. I never do. Probably should - it might help lessen the panic. LOL

33 more days until we start driving! :yay:

Anyone else get their cruise docs yet? Mine came yesterday! I was too mentally exhausted after a long day at the pharmacy (and 1 particularly nasty patient that I'd like to throw into the ocean) to even process it... but I'm excited this morning! :yay:  :cloud9:

Another OCDer here.. I've made my packing lists, started gathering and packing what I can, and am impatiently waiting to pack the rest. I have each days clothes planned out and pack that way, it's made life so much easier! :)

I haven't been home yet today to check my mail, so fingers crossed I'll have a surprise in there this afternoon! ;)

Another member of the "Partially Packed" club checking in.

NO docs yet, so maybe the'll arrive next week.

Fingers (and toes) crossed.... :goodvibes

Ok curiosity got the best of me so I had to leave work and come home and check....

I got Mickey Mail! :cool1:  :dance3:

Now I'm in the mood to finish the rest of my FE gifts! :rotfl:

Hi everyone! I've been lurking a bit here and there on the Disboards getting ready for our cruise. February through the first part of May are hectic at my house so by the time our vacation comes around, I'm gonna need it!!! Just wanted to know if anyone else will be running the Castaway Cay 5K? I was sidelined with a major injury (herniated disc) in February, but I've got the green light to get back to running. I will be doing the run/walk method for the 5K because I am taking it reeeaaalll slow getting back to running the way I was before.

Packing: I have a corner of my bedroom dedicated as a 'cruise prep site'. I'll probably get the luggage out next week and start packing a little bit. Got my cruise notebook in order after receiving our cruise docs yesterday! WooHoo!

Oh, in case anyone will be boarding their four-legged family members while gone on the cruise, check your shot records. Turns out our Sophie's shots would be due while we're gone, but we get her shots from the mobile pet clinics (half the costs than the vet's). The vet would have given her the shots while she was boarded (which would have been way more expensive).

The cruise is coming so quickly!!!
What seating for dinner does everyone have out of curiosity?
We have late seating for the first time. I think I may have to nap!!

K:)

Wow, alot to catch up on! We have main seating this time. Anyone staying at CIS the night before?

DCL told us only 2nd seating was available but they put us on a waiting list. Got an email last week that we got changed to main seating. So relieved, we like to eat early.
