The bad thing about shopping consignments stores is

You can't ask for something in a different size! I have been looking for the perfect pair of pants for work- navy blue, 5 pocket jean style in denim or a twill, that fit me good and are long length, not flared or skinny. Today I tried on a pair of Banana Republic Classic Straight Leg jeans that fit the bill...length was awesome, leg width was perfect, color was great- but they are about 2 sizes too big.

The side tag read "Hol '08" so they are not recent...and none on eBay in my size at the moment.

Is navy not "in"? It seems like navy dress pants are hard to find in most stores, but that is the color I use the most. I would love to find some styled like jeans in a true navy blue- not just dressy-dark denim color.

Are they something you can have tailored? Taken in to fit you? I know what you mean about finding the perfect fit, I have the same problem.

I think I could have put both arms inside the waistband while they were buttoned. Usually my mom can do some adjustments but that's probably too much for her with the jeans structure and denim. I've never had anything professionally altered so I don't know what's possible.

I know that feeling. It might be worth it to make a few calls to seamstresses tho, you never know. Altho, that is quite the adjustment job.
