The Bacon strikes again! Bouncin' back in Sept! UPDATE: We're back! What a trip! p43

think you'll eat at LTT? (I bet so! :rotfl:)

me too! I'm so excited!

Hope you can...I say get at least 10 :thumbsup2

Go ahead and gank! You know I don't mind. I wish you could come to the party too...:sad2: I hope you'll have time to go to A/C...I'll be waiting on your text! :rolleyes1

We really want to. We actually tried to get a dinner ADR for the 12th but they said they are booked. We may try again while we're down there. Maybe we can get in for lunch. I want me some fried cheese and pot roast. I can't go to MK again w/o eating there. It sucked having to skip it in March.

Alrighty, good idea. I'll talk to Chris tonight and see what I can get him to do :)

Thanks :) I hope so too! I'm thinking maybe we can swing by on my birthday. Do you think you'll be going there on the 14th?

I forgot to mention something pretty cool! A few weeks ago, I won tickets to Cypress Gardens in the Screamscape.com giveaway! :woohoo:
They are only good til the end of this year, so we probably won’t be able to go, but it’s still cool that I won something!! I will probably try to sell them on Ebay that way I can at least get some cash for them. Unless someone here is interested? (Cypress Gardens is about an hour’s drive south of Orlando)

I never win anything so that was pretty exciting for me!

I thought about taking them with us to WDW and seeing if anyone we run into wants to buy them :confused3 Might be a little tacky of us though. :rotfl:

Some other thoughts...

I’m concerned with taking our laptop….that wouldn’t have to count as a carry-on, right? Can Mike use that as his “personal item”? (We’re flying Southwest) I’ll have my purse so that’s my “personal item”. Last year, Mike had a newspaper as his personal item. If he wants a newspaper this time he can put it in the laptop case or his carry on. Think this plan will work?
Also, we don’t have a leather laptop bag. They are just so expensive! The one we have is a durable cloth bag. I found it at Big Lots for only $25.00. I took it to and from the hospital and it worked just fine for that but I’m concerned about flying. Should we invest in a better laptop bag/case?
FYI my camera case will go INSIDE my carry-on bag as we board the plane so that won’t count as a separate item.

I'm starting to get antsy!

Did anyone read/hear this?:
Four For A Dollar (known as Return 2 Zero when performing off Disney property), the a cappella group that has performed the preshow at Disney's Hollywood Studios' Beauty and the Beast show for many years, will have their last performance on September 20.---- I really enjoyed this group, so we might go see one last performance by them. I wasn’t planning on seeing Beauty and the Beast again, but I might just so we can see Four for a Dollar. :) (And hey, Gaston is pretty easy on the eyes. ;) In the last showing I saw, Gaston was a lot better looking than the prince)

Like I said, this is completely random, so I'm just bouncing around topics.

I think I may have briefly mentioned how I wanted to buy some pins off of ebay (for trading) before this trip, but it just wasn't in the cards this year. So no pin trading for me. :sad2: Maybe next time! :goodvibes

I'll have to post the rest of my TO-DO list later. Tonight I really need to pack some more, for sure!!! I'm so close!!! :yay: :woohoo:

Next:5 Days! Goals for pictures!

That's awesome that you won those tickets but stinks that you can't use them. Hope you can find someone to buy them :thumbsup2

I don't have a leather laptop bag either. I think the one you got will be fine. The one I have is a Swiss Army brand (it has the red cross on it) and I love it. If you really don't think your bag will protect your laptop well enough in your travels then I would highly recommend that. This is the one that I have. It protected mine very well on the flight down to FL in March and also when I took it to Tenn a month ago.

Glad you got everything figured out as how to get all that you want to bring on the plane. You certainly don't want to put your laptop under the plane. They won't be careful with it and it might get stolen. I'm not sure what all SW's rules are so I can't help you with your finagling on what all to put where and who to carry what. Sorry.

I had heard that about the a cappella group. That really stinks. I've never watched that show before so we might just have to this time in place of LMA since that will be shut down this year. It will be nice to see some hunky actors in place of speed and stunts :thumbsup2

Sorry you weren't able to get any pins to trade this time :( You will still have fun though even without the pins. I still have that green mickey head pin to give you :thumbsup2

Mine say D&G on the side right now. :rolleyes1

I have some too! :cool2:

only mine are fake!

:rolleyes1

Cheri~ I like the new dress! Don't feel bad ~ it was on sale! Besides, you can always use a nice dress like that for summer weddings and showers and such. It is worth it! :thumbsup2

 well at least you didn't pay as much as I did for mine

I don't blame you. I hope you can get in!

Okay, you let us know if he gets any, k?!

I'm not sure, because we are planning on EMH's at MK. Text me though, we'd love to meet up!

That's a really nice one! Too bad I don't have the money right now anyway. I'm thinking as long as we are carrying it, we should be fine. I'll check with Mike tonight and see what he thinks about it just to be sure.

let's see, reading SW rules it seems a laptop counts as a "personal item" so we should be fine if Mike hangs on to it, since I'll have my purse.

I actually really enjoyed them. I like the show, too, and since we didn't see it last year I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Mike might not want to see B&tB again...I'll have to ask him what he thinks about it. Unfortunately we hadn't been talking Disney much lately---I guess since we both knew it was such a big possibility that we WOULDN'T get to go.

Last night he fell asleep when I was taking my bath, so I didn't get to talk his head off like I thought I would!

Oh yeah! Can't wait to get that! You're so sweet!

I have some too! :cool2:

I had some too...they broke. (Thankfully I only paid $10 for them!)

Aw thanks for helping me justify! :goodvibes

 well at least you didn't pay as much as I did for mine

Yeah, at least! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

We all can't be as fancy as Carla :rolleyes1 :cool2:

I already made my mousekeeping envelopes (yesterday) and I just have to get the dollar bills to put in there now. Here’s the rest of my list(s)

THIS WEEK:
1. Make travel document folder (Don’t forget to print final confirmation, Itinerary, photopass cd confirmation, and flight confirmation)
2. Decorate LGMH’s & laminate
3. Put Flat Mommom on thick paper backing, and laminate
4. Finish Disney laundry (bras & turbie twist, some of Mike’s stuff)
5. Finish packing & put ME tags & luggage tags on suitcases
6. Get 1-2 rolls of shiny new pennies and some rolls of quarters (at least 5)
7. Write down all confirmation #’s and laminate, put in my park bag
8. Pay Sallie Mae (Thursday)
9. Pay Mortgage
10. Prepare carry-on bags
11. Prepare “park bags” and put inside our carry-ons
12. Make hands/feet/nails pretty. ;)
13. Go through Disney pennies that we already have and make note of where we’ve already gotten them
14. Clip dogs’ nails
15. Get cash from the bank (Make sure we have plenty of $1s)

FRIDAY:
1. Check in (at 8:00 am) for flight on SW’s website
2. Pay car note
3. Call Pop to make sure our reservation has the King bed request
4. After work – Bring Chance to vet to be boarded (Don’t forget toys & Mike’s shirt)
5. Make sure camera batteries, phones, Bluetooth, and laptop are charged
6. Don’t forget to pack all chargers
7. Exfoliate, shave and pluck eyebrows (Must be totally smooth and hair free! :lmao:)
8. Do a final check of packing list to make sure we have not forgotten anything
9. Make sure carry-ons and park bags are ready
10. Put laptop in case Friday night – don’t forget charger!
11. Bring Merlin to Christina’s house with his food & a toy

SATURDAY MORNING:
1. Wake up at about 4:30 am and say “We’re going to DisneyWorld!!”
2. Get ourselves ready, and check our bags yet AGAIN because I’m totally crazy and worried we’ll forget something!
3. Get all bags in the car – 4 suitcases/duffels + carry ons w/park bags + laptop + my purse
4. Lock up the house
5. Drive to my parents’ house
6. Go pee ()
7. Transfer luggage into my Dad’s SUV (if he refuses to drive my car to the airport like he did last year )
8. Roll out!!
9. Check our bags at the SW counter, go thru security, and wait til 7:30ish to board. (I hope we get group A!!)
10. Yay! We’re off to see Mickey!!!!

(So obviously, some of the final stuff is not on my list, but I added it here for y’all so you will know exactly how things will take place Saturday morning. :thumbsup2)

Can you tell I’m excited now??!!!

PLEASE tell me I'm not forgetting to do something!

Next:1 Day left! I'm too excited to sleep!!

Hey girl

Yeppers, laptop can be his personal item:thumbsup2

Are you taking a backpack for a carryon? You can put your purse in your backpack and then that leaves you option of bringing something else as a personal item:teacher:

Do not worry about the newpaper.....That should not count as anything...just stick it away or something:goodvibes

I saw that about Four for a dollar. I heard they were good, but never saw them

Oh well:goodvibes

That is a great list

You crack me up with some of them..go pee:rotfl2:

What is a turbie twist?

4 suitcases for 2 people....Love it :rotfl:

I can only imagine how bags you will have if you have kids in the future:lmao:

There are three of us, and we use two bags....;)

I am just messing with you:goodvibes

Glad you are excited :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Glad you are excited now girl!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Great list and I'm with Sharky, what's a turbie twist? :confused3

it doesn't look like you've forgotten anything to me.

Hi! Nice to see you...I have seen you on Heather's thread too.

Glad you are on board! :goodvibes We have been married for almost 2 years (this will be sort of an early anniversary trip...our real anniversary is Nov 18) We met in college.

That house is freaking awesome and I want to go back!! Glad you enjoyed the mini report.

well you should try planning a trip. ;)

I would love to plan another trip to WDW but after just going in May and living in the UK we wont be going back until at least the year after next :sad1:. However I have just come back from Tennessee and Georgia and am busy writing up my trip report from that, and also planning 5 other trips and writing my pre-trippies on them... so its keeping from slipping into total Disney depression :confused3

Hey girl! Great list!!!!!

You don't have much longer!!!:thumbsup2

That list of pics is great!! We did a "jumping in front of Cinderella's castle pic" and it was really cool!

Four for a Dollar was great! I'm sad to see them go.

I put my purse inside a large beach tote and use that for my personal item. Makes it easier to carry everything like a sweater since I get cold once they turn the air on in the plane but am too hot beforehand; my sandwich/snack/water, book, etc.

I'm glad you are getting excited about Disney!! I always go through "stages" of excitement, too. Love it but sometimes the stress of packing and just getting there can bum me out a bit.

So happy that Ike won't be interfering with flights or Disney.

Oh, my parents went to Cypress Gardens this past May. They said the park was empty, they arrived at 10am, they did everything they wanted to (not the roller coasters) and were done by 2pm. They said they won't be going back. It's very pretty but just can't compete with Disney/Universal.

I'd definitely take the tickets to WDW...you may be able to give them away to someone you meet down there (I know you'd rather have the $$ ... )

Oh, I just saw that you are getting photos done at the Poly. We did them in May (as you know) and I offer this advice:

1) Go to the Poly in advance (preferably at the same time) so scope out what pictures you want and to look at the display pics they have.

2) Don't be afraid to speak up. If you feel rushed, tell them. If the sun is making your eyes water, tell them. If you want pic by the palm tree, in the hammock, with Cindy's castle or with the water falls, tell them.

3) Get there early so you can change outfits/finalize make-up or just sit and relax until they are ready for you.

4) Tell them if you want all posed pics, all ad-lib pics, romantic pics, goofy pics, etc.

Hopefully, you'll get a good photographer, but as you know from the other thread, the quality all varies greatly!

Yeah!!!!! It's about time!!! ;o)

Oh well:goodvibes

thanks for the tip. Last year I held my purse as my personal item, and I put my mini backpack(I call it my "park bag" in this list) into my carry on bag, with my entertainment for the plane(crosswords), a swimsuit, a few toiletries, etc

I think I'll do the same and then have Mike hold the laptop bag

That is a great list

You crack me up with some of them..go pee:rotfl2:

well I'm sure I'll be so excited, I'll have to pee! And then again at the airport too! :rotfl2:

You don't remember the turbie twist? (As seen on tv....)
HERE is the turbie twist
I've had mine for a couple years now and it's held up all this time! :thumbsup2

2 bags for 3 people? :faint: I have to practically have one whole suitcase full of shoes! :rotfl: We also will have one with lots of snacks in it...not quite as many as last year though.

Glad you are excited now girl!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Great list and I'm with Sharky, what's a turbie twist? :confused3

it doesn't look like you've forgotten anything to me.

see above :thumbsup2

great...I hope I'm not forgetting ANYTHING!!

I would love to plan another trip to WDW but after just going in May and living in the UK we wont be going back until at least the year after next :sad1:. However I have just come back from Tennessee and Georgia and am busy writing up my trip report from that, and also planning 5 other trips and writing my pre-trippies on them... so its keeping from slipping into total Disney depression :confused3

wow....sounds like a lot of trips in a short time! Cool!!! :cool1:

Hey girl! Great list!!!!!

thanks!

I know, it's SO close!!

that jumping pic was great!! I forgot about that. I just might have to borrow that one ;)

Cypress gardens sounds like a bummer. Oh well.

You're right. (and yes...you're right about that too...this economy has been eating away at my funds lately )

Oh, I just saw that you are getting photos done at the Poly. We did them in May (as you know) and I offer this advice:

thanks for all the great tips!!

Yes, I'm a little nervous about that. And do you think I picked a good time? (7 pm)

Whoohoo! It's almost time to go!

yeppers!!! :woohoo:

I just read your whole trip report. I cannot wait to hear about your trip.

aw thanks! Welcome! Glad you're here!

I can't remember if I had mentioned that Mike was not feeling good either...well I got him an appointment to see the doctor and he should be there now. (He BETTER have made it!)

I'm sure they'll give him an antibiotic so he can get better fast!!

I can't believe it's only 4:00. I have an hour before I get out of here and go get my hair cut/highlighted!! I can't wait! :cool1:

Yay! Cheri is still going, she has a rockin boss, she's excited, and she's exfoliating!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

You reminded me that I must go get waxed tomorrow! Thanks!

Oh no! I hope Michael is better by Saturday!:scared1:
