Saturday 13th August
Early start as we had planned to be at MK all day but as we had found out from the DIS boards that Turtle Talk with Crush was going to be closed from the 21st ( the day of our DIS meet and the only day we had originally intended to be at Epcot). We changed our plan to park the car at MK, get the monorail to Epcot for the morning and back to MK for the afternoon and evening.
There werent many people catching the monorail from the transport centre for Epcot and we got to ride upfront with the driver which was brilliant as I was able to get some great camcording as we arrived at Epcot around the loop. The driver gave us all a Co-Pilots license signed by the big cheese himself you know.
We had our fingerprints scanned for the first time and were in the park in time for the rope drop.
Maddie had a few photos with characters and we headed over to Soarin with only a 10 minute wait. This was great but Callum and I were on the bottom row and I think it would be better without all of the legs dangling above you.
When we came off I ran over to get us all fast passes for Test Track and then meet the others at the Livings Seas as we all wanted to do the Turtle Talk with Crush.
Turtle Talk was really clever. The children sit at the front with the adults in a semi-circle behind and Crush swims up on the screen and interacts with the audience by asking and answering questions with the children. This was even more fun then I thought it would be, it was so funny.
Seaweed has the same effect on Crush as beans or brussels have on me.
We went on Honey I shrunk the Audience, Journey into Imagination both with no waits.
Next we had lunch at the Electric Umbrella.
Theresa had the kids meal which came in a Mickey shaped bowl.
Mac n cheese which she loves.
After lunch we did Ellen and Spaceship Earth - both were walk on rides. We spotted 3 hidden Mickeys on Spaceship Earth and 1 on Ellen.
We left Epcot at about 2.30 after popping into a couple of shops for a few more scrapbooking items (I said we would need a bigger car if we kept all this shopping up)
We had intended to go straight to MK from Epcot but it was so hot we went back to the Hotel and had a dip in the undercover pool. It was nice to be in the shade as the temperatures were in the mid 90s but felt like over 100 in the sun.
We headed to The Longhorn where we had our best meal yet a 10/10
I had a steak with mushrooms and Theresa had chicken with smoked cheese and asparagus on a bed of mashed potato. For pud we had The Chocolate Stampede which was HUGE we couldnt finish it between the 4 of us!
The bill was $73 before tip and as the waitress had been really good, letting us swap items between our meals and making some really good suggestions we left a big tip.
We arrived at MK at about 7.00 and went straight to Mickeys Philharmagic as it had no wait. It was excellent and we will defiantly do this again later in the trip.
We also did Cinderellas carrousel , Small World and The Haunted Mansion all with no wait. Snow white only had a 5 min. wait.
We tried to do BTMR and SM but they where both closed as a thunderstorm was approaching. It didnt actually rain at all, but that guy was flashing again!
We got a drink from Caseys as it was still very hot and then watched wishes from the middle of Main street. It was very pretty and a great end to a great day.
