Should I watch any other movies before I go see The Avengers? I've seen Iron Man 1 and 2. And I have Captain America on hold at the library. Any others...

You might want to watch Thor, it's got a lot of the back story...in fact, out of the ones you mentioned I really think Thor is the most important one.
I'm so excited to see this movie......I feel kind of silly being so excited about it but I really liked the others so I'm really hopeful for this one.

Super excited about this one! Me, dd(21), and dd(18) were just trying to decide which day we can go. Ready for some Thor!

You could also watch The Hulk with Edward Norton. Even tho it's one of the weakest it might explain a bit. The first half hour is slow.

And don't forget to watch the extra scenes.

:)

it seems like this... Loki vs the Avengers... The rest of the movies are the origins and how they think so u probably know how they decide and act.

Im wondering why theres no movies on Hawkeye though, maybe he just isnt as important...

I think Iron Man 1 and 2 are the best of the bunch, but you should definitely watch Thor. Heck, while you're at it, just watch Captain America and The Incredible Hulk too. Doesn't hurt to cover all the bases.

Like others have said the most back story will be in Thor. Captain America has some important stuff too. The only one I have not seen is The Hulk. Alamo Drafthouse is doing the marathon next Thursday leading up to the midnight premiere of The Avengers and I REALLY! want to go. I tried to talk my DH into taking the day off and going with me but it's not gonna happen. Not sure how I fell about spending 14ish hours in a theater by myself so I am going to rent them all and watch them before we go see it on Friday night.

Required viewing for those who are not comic savvy...

Iron Man 1&2
The Incredible Hulk (from 2008 with Edward norton)
Captain America
Thor

In that order. Keep in mind that there is a different actor playing the Hulk (it's Mark Ruffalo now, barf, instead of Edward Norton).

Thanks. I just put Thor and The Incredible Hulk on hold at my library.

Hawkeye here is a SHIELD agent like Black Widow, not a "superhero" so they don't get their own superhero movie.

I would love to see a SHIELD movie. :goodvibes

I've seen The Avengers and although the other movies listed above are not needed to enjoy it, they will GREATLY enhance your "OMG" and "Oh, WOW!" of the movie.

And I loved The Avengers so much, I just can't stand it. I will probably see it two more times in theatres. The character development is quite crafty and well done such that you get to know each Avenger but not at the expense of the overall movie.

it is so not fair other countries get it before we do in the US. :(

This is what I keep hearing about the movie. I cannot WAIT to see it! We have tickets to see it twice on May 4th. :cool1:

How much screentime does Hawkeye get? I have been curious since Thor.
