The art of being disagreeable

What is this particular trait?

Just can't figure out why a person would be bothered to disagree if it has no impact on them?

I care a smidge for a thing but I'm always about an inch away from full blown apathy, well maybe a hint of curiosity lingers a bit every now and again like now.

The whole behavior is so unknowable. If you know people like this or have some useful insight I'd be delighted because I just flat out don't get it and usually find myself observing without understanding. To me it is like watching a bird intently build a nest in a certain way, picking up one twig and rejecting another, knowing there is a reason but recognizing I'll never get it.

It's been my experience that some people will couch a situation/instance/particular occurrence or experience in such a way as to seemingly want to help out/seek interested and/or a favorable response & possibly illicit a teeny bit of sympathy. When that doesn't happen and other folks actually simply articulate their honest thoughts or responses on the situation - well, it's not well received by the person originally starting the conversation.
Kinda passive aggressive the whole "I have this little point of view and I want you all to know about it, you can comment if you agree but don't bother responding to the conversation I initiated if you don't because even if I said it's not a big deal it's really a big deal to me but no one else."

Interesting, thanks

I don't think disagreeable people are honest though, seems they just like to, well, disagree. What you say would make sense if the person was MOSTLY agreeable and had a different every now and again but when it is all that happens ya gotta sort of just wonder, or not I guess.

Ehhh, I lost the taste for it

Many difficult and unreasonable people are narcissists. There's no hope for them usually... :rotfl2:
