****The April 2015 thread**** come check in and chat!

I'm chomping at the bit to pack but am very limited since this trip is still a surprise for the kids. I like to get all the cases out and make a production out of it so I don't think I can start packing yet :guilty: I sure wish I could though! We plan to tell the kids when we're on our way out the door so I'm going to have to be very stealthy! Sure hope I can pull it off!

Two weeks!! I can't hardly stand it! I noticed tonight at 9:30 that we would be in Disneyland watching fireworks at that exact time! :mickeyjum

We will be in Anaheim one week from tonight!!! We weren't suppose to arrive until Sunday midday, but we decided to drive out a day early so we could go to the Reagan Library on Saturday afternoon and then we'll drive down that evening after we meet some friends for dinner. And we added a couple of nights in Carlsbad to the end of the trip to go Whale Watching and visit some friends that live there too. Might try to go see the USS Midway again after the whale watching. We did that a few years ago, but our kids were pretty little then. Can't wait!

Safe journeys to all of those leaving this week! Have a great time!
Sounds wonderful!! Have a great trip, and safe travels to you!!:car:

I'm loving that our little group is slowly starting to make their way to the happiest place on Earth! Wishing everyone leaving this week safe travels! Come back to this thread and let us know how your trip was!:-)

We have less than 20 days until we leave and 22 until we hit Disney! I'm so excited, and a little anxious. My husband and I are what you'd call here "Pooh sized". So I've been looking to see how our experience is going to be, and I've read the Everything Pooh Sized thread. Sadly there was very little on what it would be like for people in Disneyland. Almost all comments had do with Disney World. Does anyone have some insight on this or able to lead me to a thread specific to Disneyland, and Universal Studios Hollywood?

We're down to 17 days until we're in CA!!! We're going to do lunch at downtown Disney when we arrive then head to San Diego for a few days. 20 days from today we'll be back at Disneyland for 6 nights, I can't wait!!!

I am also what you would call pooh sized. From all of my research (I am super paranoid about this) we should be fine At DL. Universal I am not sure, or knotts (we are going there too).

Maybe start a thread in the disneyland forum here. As this is for April you may not get as many responses.

Thanks for your response! I will have to do that, or keep looking through the old posts. I'm still fairly new so finding things on here is a little confusing.

I am about a size 22 (women's). I fit in every single ride just fine. California Screamin' was a bit tight but still ok. That's the only one I remember being even close to an issue.

I am extra pooh size and I have no problem enjoying Disneyland or California Adventure. Seat belts are very long, but I would advise you to pull it out before you sit down. I am also disabled so have difficulty getting out of some rides, but the CMs are very helpful. They are always there with a helping hand.

Have a great time!

We are sitting in the airport awaiting our flight home. So sad to be leaving our favorite place, but looking forward to sleeping in our own beds tonight!

This was our first trip with big crowds. Thanks to all the tips and tricks found on this forum we were able to navigate very well! We had a fantastic trip! Can't wait to go back!

What tips/tricks did you discover most useful? Any info you can share with those of us still heading that way?

Go early. It is a LOT less crowded in the morning.

Take advantage of Fastpasses. Get RSR FP first thing, they go quickly.

Avoid Rivers of Americas area when the lines for Fantasmic start (unless you are going to see Fantasmic).

Lines tend to be a little shorter during parades.

Fantasy in the Sky can be seen anywhere in the park. You don't need to be near the Castle.

One note: The M&G procedure to see Olaf has changed. They no longer give out pagers. You approach the CMs in the front for a Fastpass. The line where you used to get the pager is not to get into the building. They let in groups of about thirty or so every twenty minutes. Once you get it, you then get in line to go into the snow area. We waited about fifteen minutes in that line. Then, when your Fastpass window opens you come back, go into the building, and get in line to see Olaf. This line took us about fifteen minutes.

Aww, I hate that part, sitting at the airport waiting to go home. I hope your trip was fantastic though! I'm hoping crowds will be lower the week of the 19th when we will be there. I know for sure sunday the 19 th will be crowded but I'm hoping the rest of the week will be less since spring break and Easter are over.

Thanks so much for coming back and letting us know how your trip was! And thanks for the Olaf m&g info!!

For people who are there now, or just back. Did you see any anniversary stuff? I saw this video on all the stuff they've been designing, and I was wondering when that stuff gets released. Also, any Big Hero 6 stuff or characters? My kiddos are obsessed with that movie!

Thanks for the Olaf tip! I know we'll be doing that. Our trip date still feels so far away!

The popcorn buckets in Disneyland were starting to change through my trip. The new bucket has an orangy-yellow lid and Sourcerer Mickey on it. I didn't see it in great detail though. I didn't see any special anniversary gear out yet. The only decorations I noticed were on the castle. The decor changed a little each day. The only Big Hero 6 stuff I noticed were the huge Baymax balloons.

Thank you for your reply! Glad you had a good time!
